Chapter 24

"So...." Joel trailed off "Any plans tonight"?

I shook my head "No" and picked around my cereal and ate the marshmallows and avoided the cereal

pieces.

I was sitting at the island counter and was eating breakfast....even though it was 4 p.m.

School was the worse today....I got detention and was forced to do work for Mrs. Grave our raggy'd-

Anne principle, but thank God it was Friday.

Alex and I were suppose to hang out, but she got sick with the flu.

"Jax, Ryan, and I are heading to a party, if you want to come"? He offered and I shook my head "A

college party? No thanks".

"Why not? Your boyfriend goes to them" Joel stated and rolled his eyes as he wiped down the counter

top with a wet cloth.

"He's not my boyfriend" I said and rolled my eyes "And he's in college, I'm not"!

"Really, because it sure seems like you and Ryker are more then friends" He narrowed his eyes at me,

and I stood up and put my dish in the sink.

"Well we're not dating. He doesn't even like me like that" I said "But, I do think I have to go out and grab

a few things".

He nodded and I tapped the counter top then walking upstairs, and to my room. I walked into my closet

room and scanned over the shelves as I searched for something to wear.

I grabbed a white band t-shirt muscle tee, jean shorts, a flannel and tied it around my waist then

slipping my low top black Converses. I threw a plan black baseball cap on backwards and looked at

myself in the mirror and approved.

I took my phone and keys and walked out of my room, and down the hall and the spiral staircase. I slid

down the railing of the staircase casually and got off without falling; surprisingly.

"Bye"! I yelled and walked out, and the chandelier light went on and I closed the door behind me and

walked down the driveway to my truck.

It was a bit cold and I shivered as the cold air hit me and I hopped in my truck and buckled my seat-belt

then turning my key in the ignition.

I drove down the roads of NYC and tapped my fingers on the steering wheel to beat of the music

playing on the radio.

I sang the words to the songs that played and sped down the streets and past cars.

I drove to a grocery store, and parked then unbuckling my seat belt and getting out as I slammed the

car door shut.

I tossed my keys back and fourth between my hands as I walked threw the parking lot.

I walked in and the doors automatically opened and I walked threw people.

It was crowded, and people were everywhere shopping...I mean it is Friday.

I walked threw crowds of people and got a bunch of cat-calls and whistles from guys, but I ignored it.

I jogged through the store and to the middle section and went and I scanned over the shelves.

"Rain Thompson"! A voice yelled and I whirled around to see a girl probably about 16 with long brown

hair and golden brown eyes.

She came up to me and gushed "Oh my Gosh! I'm such a huge fan! Can I get a picture with you"?!

I smiled and nodded "Yeah Sure", and she took her phone out and took a selfie and I did the same

pose I did for the picture on Ryker's phone.

"Thank you"! She gushed and walked away.

I walked into the next aisle and bumped into someone.

"Oh sorry-" I said then looking up and seeing Ryker and everyone else.

"What are you doing here"? Craig asked.

I scratched the back of my neck "Oh...you know..." then grabbing a random box off the shelf next to me.

They all gave amused looks. "Buying Condoms"? Ryker asked and raised an eyebrow.

I looked at the box I was holding, and saw it was Condoms. I jumped and the dropped the box out of

my hands.

They all laughed and I rolled my eyes and picked up the box and put it back on the shelf.

"Well why are you here"? I asked.

"Well unlike you....we are actually buying condoms" Chloe said then grabbing a box if the shelf and

smirking.

Ryker clenched his jaw and Liz broke the silence "So! I aced that English exam, I had".

I smiled "Aww Congrats Liz" and looked back then back at them.

"Rain you okay"? Neil asked and I nodded "Yeah...I'm fine".

"You sure? You seem a little......off"? He questioned and I shrugged "I'm fine".

Chloe grabbed Ryker's hand and pouted "Babe, can we go to your place now"?

Ryker clenched his jaw and looked at me as if he was asking for approval. I pressed my lips in a thin

line and looked down at the ground, then looking back up.

"Not tonight Chloe" He muttered and I gave a shocked face. Ryker just turned down a booty-call?! I've

never seen THE RYKER ANDERSON turn down a fuck buddy....

"We're going back to the warehouse, want to come"? Vince offered and I nodded slightly "Yeah, sure"

and they all smiled.

Lamborghini...and everyone got out of their cars. I slammed the truck door shut.

"Who's is that"? Craig asked and I muttered "Shit" and ran into the warehouse. "Rain! Rain!" They all

yelled after me and ran after me.

I ran up the steps of the warehouse and to the main room and pushed the door open then froze when I

saw Blake.

Everyone came in and started "Rain what-" then stopped.

"Babe" Blake smirked and walked closer to me "I knew you'd be excited to see me".

If there's one law of gangs....it's you're not allowed in one's warehouse or on their property, and Blake

should not be here.

"Get the fuck out Monroe!" Craig yelled and Blake took something out of his pocket and it was a hand

gun, and I quickly smacked it out of his hand.

Blake clenched his jaw and looked the gun then to me "You shouldn't have done that Thompson" then

coming to grab me.

"Stay the fuck away from her"! Ryker gritted and stepped in front of me, and shoved Blake back.

Blake's lips tugged into a smirk.

"Get the fuck out of here"! Vince gritted and Blake never had the smirk leave his lips "Okay, I got what I

needed to know" then leaning down and pecking my lips "See you in class, Babe" and walked out.

"Why the hell was he here"!? Will yelled, and the guys ran hands threw their hair and gave questioning

looks.

I picked the hand-gun up off the ground and quickly took it to the table. I took it apart quickly and Ryker

came up behind me and asked "What are you doing"? and put a hand to my lower back.

"Seeing is there is a serial number" I said "If not, the government can't track it and they can't get it

back, and this is a Glock 38; one bullet and it will kill someone".

"How do you know..so much"? Ryker asked and I saw there wasn't a serial number and I put it back

together.

"My grandfather's Ex-military and a NRA instructor, I use to spend summers with him in Maine" I stated.

I love my grandfather, I use to always see him but he lives a bit far. I use to spend summers with him

from 7th-10th grade.

I slapped the empty magazine into the gun and set it down on the table "I know a thing or two about

firearms".

"That's hot" Ryker smirked as he pressed his forehead to mine, and I laughed with my forehead still

against his.

I smiled and realized he's basically with Chloe, whether he says it or not. My smile then formed into a

frown and I pulled away from Ryker "You're with Chloe..."

"I'm not with Chloe, Rain" He said and grabbed my wrist in his hands. I shook my head and pressed my

lips in a thin line "No Ryker, you basically are. You're always kissing and you even sleep together!

You're together, whether you realize it or not".

"Rain" He sighed "She's my Ex-Girlfriend...I'm not going after her. Plus I have my eye on another girl"

He smirked and sent me a wink then walking away.

Another girl?!?!

I looked down and sighed. How many girls does he like?

"Rain!" Liz yelled "Food's here"!

I stood up and walked to the kitchen where everyone was and was grabbing food that we ordered and

sitting down at the table to eat.

I walked over to the counter and went to grab a glass when a arm came up and grabbed a cup and

handed it to me. I looked at Ryker and he said "You're not cutting your hand again".

I smiled and took the cup, and grabbed a plate and a piece of pizza with a handful of fries, and a pair of

arms wrapped around my waist from behind.

Ryker whispered into my ear "Want to come to my house, later"? I nudged him in the ribs with my

elbow and bit my lip.

"No, I have to go to home tonight" I said and turned around to face him and he let his arms drop to his

sides.

He rolled his eyes and said "Live a little, why don't you"?

"Maybe you should invite Chloe" I said then calling out to Chloe "Chloe! How about you go home with

Ryker later"?!

Liz, Leah, Peter and Will gave confused looks as to why I was sending Chloe off to a guy that I like,

and setting up.

I took a seat and so did Ryker, and everyone was seated. Chloe gave me a suspicious look and

nodded "Yeah, I'd love to".

Craig looked between me and Ryker then at Chloe "What"!? He exclaimed.

I raised an eyebrow and took a sip of my water.

"I thought you liked Ryker"! He exclaimed and slammed his hands down on the table and my eyes

widened and I spit my water back into the cup.

"What"!? I yelled and Ryker gave me an amused look.

"Well....you've been acting weirdly lately...and....I heard Will and Peter talking about it" Craig trailed off

and scratched the back of his neck.

My eyes widened to the point where I was afraid they would pop out of my head and Ryker's eyes then

widened and gave a shocked look as his jaw slightly dropped.

Liz said "Uh...Peter and Will, why are you telling lies"?!

Thank God, Liz!

She covered for me and Will said "We-".

"Hush"! Leah said and glared at then "You're as bad as Faith! Talking about lies and gossip"!

Ryker sighed...in relief? His eyes didn't have so much anxiousness in them and he pressed his lips

together.

Craig put his hands in surrender and I rubbed my temples.

"Come on, princess" Ryker said and titled my chin up with his index finger "It'll be fun".

I bit my lip and he said "Chloe and I....aren't together".

"Why did you say that with hesitation, then"? I questioned.

He groaned "Rain"!

I bit my lip and looked back where everyone was in the living room talking, then back at Ryker.

"One night" He said and I sighed and gave in "One night".

His lips tugged up into a smirk and I rolled my eyes m response.

He grabbed my hand and intertwined it with mine, and pulled me out to the main room/living room.

"Rain's coming home with me" Ryker called and I grabbed my backpack and slung it over my shoulder.

Liz and Leah smirked and Will called "Use protection! We don't need Rain pregnant at 18! With you as

her baby daddy"!

Ryker flipped him off and pulled me out of the warehouse.

We walked outside and the cold air hit me and I shivered.

Ryker rubbed his hands up and down my cold arms and we came to his truck and I got in the

passenger seat.

We walked up to the 2nd floor and to Ryker's apartment.

He unlocked it and I walked in and sighed in relief as the warmth came over me.

Ryker walked in and shut the door and yelled "Faith! Melanie! I'm home"! and took his jacket off and

hung it up in the closet.

Faith came out and said "Melanie's asleep- Rain"! she hugged me and I smiled "Hey"

She pulled back and looked at Ryker then me "I didn't know you were coming".

"Neither did I" I added and she chuckled.

"Well I'm glad you came.....I have Music homework, can you help me with it"? She asked.

"1) I did not bring her to help you with your homework 2) You could have just asked me" Ryker scoffed.

I rolled my eyes and turned to Faith "Go get it" and she ran off to her and Melanie's room.

Ryker said "You're to nice".

I laughed "Me? Haha"!

Faith came back out with a binder and we all sat down on the couch.

Ryker sat and pulled out his phone and zoned out.

Faith flipped threw her pages and came to one and it was a blank piece of paper that was blank.

It was a music note paper, that I always use to use for the piano.

I scanned over it and nodded "Alright let's get started".

"No that's suppose to be C" I said and she erased her answer and changed it correctly.

I've been helping Faith for the past half hour, and I kept having to review the notes in my head.

Faith asked "Well what about G"?

I bit my lip and looked over the paper "You're heading more towards the guitar rythm, I'm not so good

with the guitar..."

"Ryker"! Faith pleaded and he came put of the kitchen and asked "What"?

"What would complete the beat"? Faith asked and Ryker leaned over the couch and wrapped his arms

around me and took the paper.

"It should be F, G, C, A" Ryker said and Faith said "I'll be right back" then walking down the hall.

Ryker came around and sat down on the couch and I raised an eyebrow "I didn't know you could read

music"?

He scratched the back of his neck "Uhhh...yeah...I use to play guitar".

Faith came out with a acoustic guitar and Ryker shook his head "No, no, not going to happen Faith".

She pleaded "Please! I haven't heard you play in forever"!

I looked at him and said "Please, I want to hear you play".

"No" He scoffed and I grabbed his hand in mine and his head snapped towards me.

I kissed his cheek quickly and asked "Please"?

He muttered "Fine" and took the guitar from Faith.

He set it in his lap and set his fingers in the correct spots.

He strummed few chords scoffed messed with the sound and strings then beginning to play.

I watched mesmerized at how Ryker played so effortlessly and gracefully.

He watched his fingers carefully and I listen to the sound of the acoustic guitar.

Ryker pulled me into his lap and we finished Faith's homework a couple minutes ago.

I asked Ryker to teach me a few chords, and after arguing for 5.

minutes I got him to compromise.

He took my hand and placed my fingers in the correct spots on the guitar neck and bottom half.

His fingers covered over mine and he instructed "So A, G, C" and moved my fingers with his.

Blush had crept onto my cheeks and I fought back a smile.

Ryker played a familiar song, that I couldn't exactly put a name on.

Ryker hummed into my ear and I watched as his fingers moved over mine so gracefully.

The fireplace was lit and the curtains were closed on the windows and the living room was dim with

Candles Faith had lit.

Butterflies we're in my stomach and I looked at Ryker and he stopped humming and playing.

His bright blue eyes held my gaze and bored into mine.

I leaned closer and he brushed his lips against mine then pressing his to mine, and he moved the

guitar to the side.

He cupped my cheek with one hand and secured his other around my waist.

The kiss was very soft and gentle as it was slow and our lips locked.

I smiled against his lips and pulled away as the smile never left my face.

"Princess" He whispered and tucked a piece of hair behind my ear.

"Don't talk" I said and he smiled as I pressed my lips back to his.

He pushed me down so my back was against the couch and I was laying down.

I wrapped my arms around his neck and pulled him closer to me.

"Ryker! Ryker!" I yelled as I ran threw the air-port.

"Rain"! Everyone yelled after me but I ignored it and continued to run.

"Ryker"! I yelled and people gave me glares for yelling and running.

I pushed threw people and saw he was going to security and I ran up and security guards stopped me.

"Miss, where's your ticket"? He asked and I said "I don't have one-"

"Miss you can't pass" Another stated.

"Ryker"! I yelled and his head whirled around to me.

I had tears streaming down my face and I was shaking.

He pushed threw people and came up to me and hugged me tightly.

I cried into his chest and his grip on me was so tight, and he brushed his hands threw my hair.

"Rain" He whispered with relief in his voice.

"Please don't leave"! I begged with tears streaming down my face.

He pulled away and cupped my face in his hands and wiped away tears on my cheeks with his thumbs

"I have to princess".

I shook my head and held his wrist in my hands "No you dont".

"I have to Rain. It kills me to leave you, but I have to to go, if I don't want you to get hurt" He said

sincere.

"Ryker" I said weakly "please, I love you".

"I love you too" He smiled slightly pulled me back into his arms and I clung to him as if my life

depended on it.

I sobbed into his chest and he pressed his lips to my forehead "I'll be back, I promise" and he took my

hand and played with the ring on my left hand on my ring-finger.

"I mean we have to get married some-time, we can't stay engaged forever" He smiled.

I chuckled softly and smiled at his comment of us being engaged as of a month or two ago.

"I love you Rain" He said.

"I love you too, Ryker" I said.

He pecked my lips and squeezed my hand and everyone came up.

"Bye" I said almost in a whisper.

"Bye my beautiful" and he walked away.
