Somehow, the return from her old house made Chloe’s smile refuse to fade. Not because she was meeting Leonel. That was not on her agenda at all. She was numb to it. “Why do I feel like you’re so confident that I’ll give you my cooking?”

Chloe sighed. “The money in your pocket can buy any breakfast you want.”

“But I want your cooking.” Josh chuckled. “Is that not allowed, or is someone else in the picture?”
