Chapter 31: 31. My Sissy’s Home

Shanu’s PoV

It's Sunday morning! We are going to Rishi mama's home for lunch. I'm so excited to go and see my big sissy. She is my deary! My second mother! My mom wanted a boy baby and I happened to be a girl. My mom went under depression from her 8th month in my pregnancy until I was one year old. D was 5yrs old when I was born. She used to take care of me, change my diapers and even tried to feed me at that tender age.

We have that amazing connection between us. She always stands by my side and I always protect her. She is a goody girl. She really doesn’t know how to avoid problems. We never once have fought in our life. Her wedding is a complete shock. We had so many dreams of her wedding. We know that my dad would get her married once after she finishes college. But we never expected this sudden marriage.

As I already know, my sissy made a huge mistake by marrying Rishi mama. He clearly have stated that he was not interested in this wedding and my stupid sissy married him because he was her first crush. Who in the world will do such a thing!? My sissy will. She is a stupid.

Now I'm all excited because we get to spend a day with her new family. Yeah, I have to see that jerk also. But he is not that bad. When we came running to my sissy's wedding, that jerk just stepped on my lehenga and tore it. My damn new beautiful lehenga! I didn’t know who he was then. So, I just called him and scolded him for tearing my new dress.

"Hey dumbhead! Look what have you done to my new dress?! You know how much I like this dress? You know how much it costs? You don't even have the courtesy to ask for an apology?" I yelled at him but that jerk smiled at me.

"At you babe! I'm sorry for your dress! You look so beautiful!" he said. How dare he?

"what? You are a complete..." Dakshu cut me off.

"Shanu, why are you standing here? Come soon! We are already late." She came back for me before I completed scolding him. Only after that incident, I knew that idiot was mama's brother.

When we went to mama's house for the second time, I almost had a fight with that jerk. He is a total idiot. He was not afraid of my mom. That dumbhead was flirting with me all along. If not for D, my mom would have noticed his flirting on that day. Stupid! I kinda like him. He is handsome. But as you all know, I can’t lead him into love. That's how we are brought up. But that doesn’t mean I can’t enjoy his company. That too I won’t get a chance like this again. You know what I mean? No mom and no dad!

Aakash anna, Charu anni and I started to Mama's home. We reached there by 1pm. We got some sweets and flowers. D was all smiles when we reached there. She was standing on the doorstep to receive us. We had a group hug and went in. There was another lady. D told us that she was a relative and her name is Shakshi.

I liked her. She talks really nice to all of us. Where is that idiot? Rishi mama is also not here. Me and D are in the kitchen now. She is cooking.

"What happened to your phone, D? I tried calling you last night. Mom tried too."

"I charged my phone but forgot to switch it on, de. See it's all good with me!" She showed me her phone. Why is she acting all weird?

"Ok! Where is mama? You didn’t talk to mom this morning?"

"Mama and Ravi went out. They will be back for lunch. Yeah, I didn’t talk to mom this morning. I got so much work. But I spoke to her yesterday."

"She was worried that you didn’t pick the phone."

"Oh, she doesn’t have to!"

"Oh really? You spoke with mama already? everything sorted?"

"Shanu, it’s just 3weeks. I asked for 3months remember?"

"So, you haven't talked to him yet!?"

"Hey Anvi! How are you? Long time!"

WHAAAT? ANVI????? HOW DARE HE CALL ME THAT???

Think about the devil.... I turned to him.

"You are not calling me that. My name is Shanvi! You can call me my full name or I don’t mind if you call me MADAM."

"Ok! MADAM! but I like calling you ANVI. Anni what say?" Seriously? He joins D in this?

"Yeah Shanu! What’s the big deal? We call you Shanu. He likes calling you Anvi." She is unbelievable. Is she really that dumb?

"Have you gone mad, D? you are my sis, you can call me in short. Who the hell is he?"

I pointed my index finger at him. D has this disapproving look on her.

"No Shanu. Stop talking like that. He is family too. You can't hurt him. Apologize to him now."

"It's ok anni. No issues." he said in a little voice.

"I'm sorry!"

He just got out of the kitchen with a little nod. Did I really hurt him? But he crossed the line.

"Shanu, look what you've done. He is a nice guy, de. He is my only companion here."

"Pch! Are you not seeing that he is flirting with me?"

"So what?"

"What? You got all courage after getting married. Are you not afraid of dad anymore?"

"Do you like him, Shanu?"

"What the hell are you talking about? I have just finished my school, remember?"

"Ok ok! Chill de! I'm not afraid of dad anymore. I'm a big girl now. I can decide your life and talk to dad. If you like him, marrying him wouldn’t be a problem. I can talk to dad. We don’t have to tell him that you like Ravi too!?"

"You are real nuts. Stop blabbering like this to that jerk. He may take advantage of me. And no! I don’t like him!" My sister is a stupid. See, she is talking about my marriage with that jerk. She is kinda right. My dad won’t say no if this proposal comes in a formal way just like she says. But I can’t let him know that I like him too. What's the fun in that?

"Hey ok de! I won’t talk to him like this. And don’t be so rude to him. If he flirts, let him be. You know how to handle flirts without hurting."

"Mmmm ok ok! I will try. But if he crosses his limits, I'm sure to kick him".

He calls me Anvi! It's nice. Isn't it? I mean no one has ever called me that. My family and my friends call me Shanu. Anvi is certainly special.

Soon mama came. I don’t know how he treats my sis, but he is really good with us. He talks so well with my anna. They are almost the same age. It's so nice to see them talk like friends. You see,

weddings are not just about two people. It’s about two families!

When it was 5 o'clock, D started to get ready for the exhibition. This visit is to take her there. We all love exhibitions. Every summer vacation we come to Coimbatore and every time this same exhibition will be here. This time too when mom, dad and D started to Coimbatore she said she will go to the exhibition without us. But everything happened unexpectedly. She couldn’t go there. This new family looks so rich. We doubted if they would go to the exhibition and not. Also, we are not sure if she will ask them to take her. So, Aakash anna felt like taking her. So, we planned for a visit. We planned to come in the evening but Shekar uncle insisted on staying for lunch.

She was all excited. So are we! Shakshi too wanted to come with us. Shekar uncle and subramani uncle doesn't wanna come. So, the rest of us went out to the car. But Rishi mama said he has some other work to tend to. He didn’t come. My sis is all sad.

What could be more important on a sunday evening rather than to spend time with a beautiful wife!? I'm angry too but I can show it to that jerk. I glared at him and he raised his hands in the air. Drama queen.
