Candice knew Hanley didn’t check his WhatsApp much when he was at work, so she said, “Are

you still busy? The matter has been settled. I’ll go back to Northdale in a bit.”

Hanley was still making amendments to the proposal, but at Candice’s words, he started walking to his

car, grabbing his coat. “You’re still in the hospital, aren’t you? Wait for me at a place with people.”

Hanley was determined and Candice also knew that her own situation was not good.

She nodded solemnly. “All right, I’ll wait for you to come over.”

Candice had just hung up when laughter rang out from Alex. “You really know how to act pitiful.” Alex
