No More Waiting, She Chooses Love

Chapter 662

Chapter 662

Suddenly, Conrad burst into the room, heading straight for the bedroom without noticing that I was asleep on the couch. Dustin wiped the corner of his mouth, and I caught a glimpse of a red stain. Emerging from the bedroom, Dustin spoke, "You don't need to think the worst of me."

By then, Conrad had noticed me on the couch. Seeing my clothes were intact seemed to calm him somewhat. "Then you shouldn't have messed with her," he said.

Dustin, leaning against the liquor cab, pulled out a tissue to dab at his mouth before pouring himself a drink. "She was the one coming onto me," he replied.

My heart sank. Did Dustin realize I was deliberately getting close to him?

"Aren't you the one who's been eyeing her?" Conrad challenged, seeing right through Dustin.

With a couple of buttons undone on his crisp white shirt, Dustin had a reckless air about him. "Rad, don't forget you're not her man anymore. She's single and free to start a new relationship. There's nothing hical about me liking her," he said.

Dustin always had a way of staying composed; his argument was faultless. Conrad, on the other hand, was neither calm nor collected. "You can like anyone you want, just not her," he insisted.

"Just because she was with you before?" Dustin's voice dripped with mockery. "That doesn't bother me."

His words reminded me of something Dustin had said before, that he didn't care about my past, only that I was the one for him.

"But it bothers me," Conrad retorted almost irrationally. "Anyone but her."

Dustin chuckled lightly. "Why? Are you afraid you'll look bad if she ends up with me? Or is it because... you still have feelings for her? Hoping to rekindle something?"

Conrad's hands clenched into fists, a gesture I observed from my position. "You don't need to know why. Just understand this - I won't let you be with her." He spat out each word

with finality before turning, scooping me up from the couch. Content

I wondered about the injury on his arm, whether it had healed enough for him to carry me like this.

"Where are you taking her?" Dustin asked as he approached.

Tension gripped me at the thought of being caught in a tug-of-war between the two brothers.

Ignoring him, Conrad carried me outside, and Dustin didn't stop us. As I was carried out the door, I breathed a sigh of relief.

to infiltrate their world, being taken back by Dustin had honestly left me nervous and scared. Somehow, Conrad seemed more comforting, perhaps because we had a long history of a relationship where he never forced anything on me. Content belongs to NovelDrama.Org

Conrad put me in the car, not specifying where we were headed. Wanting to avoid further drama, I pretended to feel sick, stumbled out of the car, and acted like I was vomiting by some flower beds.

Conrad let me be, watching as I put on a show. Pretending to be unsteady, I stood up and walked away, unchallenged.

As I hailed a cab and left, I realized

Conrad had seen through my poor acting skills, Back home, I took a bath and lay in bed, the image of Dustin at the Sapphire Lounge replaying in my mind. He must be up to something, possibly the person Deborah mentioned. But it was clear Allen and his crowd were wary of me, making it unlikely I'd uncover anything else by visiting again.
