Chapter 76
Chapter 76 Little Devil
Security?
Emily shrugged, indicating she couldn't help with that.
Last time, she helped out as a model, but she couldn't possibly act as security this time.
"The security issue is something I'll handle myself, but I need you to take care of Chloe's makeup today," Wilson said.
Emily was a bit surprised. "Don't big stars have their own makeup artists?"
"Chloe came directly from a film festival and only brought an assistant. They didn't have time to coordinate with a makeup artist," Wilson said, his expression turning serious. He lightly patted her shoulder. "You can do it, believe in yourself!" Suddenly, a roar came from the entrance. "Get your hands off her!"
Jackson had just arrived and witnessed them. Wilson reached out to touch Emily, and this foolish woman didn't even know to step back?
With a stride, Jackson pulled Emily behind him, glaring at Wilson. "What are you doing?"
Wilson was helpless. "Boss, you've misunderstood. I was just expressing my admiration for Emily..."
"Can't you express it with words?"
"It's not... How do I explain this? Emily, can you explain it?"
Emily felt a bit awkward. She forcefully freed herself from Jackson's grasp and stepped back a few paces, putting some distance between them. She explained, "Boss, Wilson was just talking about work with me. He didn't do anything inappropriate, I can vouch for that." Jackson's expression softened slightly. "Really?"
"Really!"Property of Nô)(velDr(a)ma.Org.
With the crisis averted, Wilson wiped the sweat from his forehead.
From now on, he would make sure to maintain his distance when discussing work with Emily.
Backstage was always bustling and busy, and Emily focused intently on her preparations.
"Are you feeling better?" Jackson asked.
Emily was startled. "What?"
"Yesterday, you weren't feeling well. Are you feeling better today?"
"I'm much better now, don't worry," Emily said. "I need to start working now, so you can go over there."
With that, Emily paid him no more attention and began applying makeup to the first model.
Today's theme was beach sunshine. The cars on display were all off-road beach vehicles, and the models were dressed very sexy.
Emily selected different foundations for them based on their skin tones and then got to work.
When she came back to her senses, Jackson was no longer in the backstage makeup room.
She breathed a sigh of relief.
"Emily, are you done with your work? Chloe will be here soon!"
Emily looked up and saw only the last three backup models remaining to be made up. It was only 8:30, so there was still plenty of time.
She replied, "Almost done."
Wilson understood and gestured OK to her.
Just as Emily was about to continue her work, she saw a boy about ten years old at the backstage entrance. He was wearing a basketball jersey and holding a basketball in his arms.
Only staff with work permits were allowed backstage. Perhaps this child was brought in by one of the staff members?
Wilson furrowed his brows. "Whose child is this? How did he get backstage? Someone take him out quickly."
But no one claimed the child as their own.
"Ah!"
Suddenly, one of the models screamed.
A basketball had come flying towards her makeup table, shattering the cosmetics and making a mess everywhere.
Emily shielded several models, preventing the flying shards from injuring them.
Everyone was wearing bikinis today, so any bloodstains would be immediately visible.
"Hiss-"
A sharp pain shot through Emily's ankle, causing her to inhale sharply.
The model she had shielded behind her quickly asked, "Are you okay?"
Emily glanced down and saw several cuts on her ankle, with glass shards scattered around her feet.
"I'm fine, are you all okay?" Emily asked the models.
The models confirmed that they were not injured.
Emily nodded.
If any of these models were injured, the three backups might not be enough.
The boy laughed gleefully, pointing at the models mockingly, "Wow, how come there are so many ugly monsters here!"
Wilson grabbed the boy by the collar and lifted him up. "Where are your parents?"
"Hey, you fat pig! You better put me down right now! My mom and dad
the
will be here soon. My sister is door When they come, they'libeat you to death!"
"Hey, do you know how much damage you just caused?"
The boy shrugged indifferently. "It's just money. My sister will give you money Hey fat pig, put me down! You better not mess with med smash everything here!"
Wilson was instantly furious. "You, you're simply a rude little devil."
The boy kicked him in the face.
or I'll
"Ow!"
Wilson winced in pain as the boy broke free from his grip and viciously threw the ball at the other makeup tables. Crash-
All the makeup tables shattered.
The boy muttered to himself, "I'll smash everything! I'll make you mad, you fat pig!"
Emily shielded the models, huddling in the corner. But the boy was getting out of hand, and he even smashed Emily's makeup box to pieces.
She couldn't take it anymore. She grabbed the basketball before the boy could, and hurled it out the window.
Finally, peace returned.
"Ugly monster, how dare you throw my basketball!"
Emily was furious. "This is not the place for basketball. If you want to play, go play outside."
The boy put his hands on his hips, unafraid. "I'll play wherever I want! Do you know who my dad is? Do you believe I'll have him beat you up in a minute!"
"Who's your dad? God?" Emily
suppressed her anger. "I don't care
who your dad is. This is a public place, not your home. If you cause
any more trouble, the police will have to come and take you to the station."
Just then, a familiar female voice came from the entrance. "Who dares to take my son to the police station? How dare you!"
