Chapter 1500
Chapter 1500
Anne did not exit through the front door to avoid suspicion from Hayden or the
bodyguards. Fortunately, she knew the layout of the Royal mansion and knew exactly what she needed to do to slip away without being noticed.
She could naturally escape even if they realized that she had knocked Anthony out of consciousness, but she did not want to fight Anthony’s men.
She left the Royal Mansion with ease and caught a taxi to head toward the place the masked man mentioned.
She found the locker and instructed the staff to open it. She waited nervously, wondering if it would truly be a phone.
As the locker was opened, she found an old phone laying inside, which started ringing as soon as she picked it up.
Anne glanced around and saw no one but customers in the mall, but she knew that she was being watched, or she would not have received the call at this precise moment.
“Hello?”
“Is Anthony trailing behind you?” The man asked.
“You should know if he is,” she said impatiently, “where is Lucia? Let her go and I’ll come with you.”
“I don’t like killing innocent people, anyway. Get into the blue car outside the entrance and it will take you away.”
“Let her go first!”
“Hey! Remember that you are the one who’s begging for mercy.”
“If I go now, how would I know if you are going to release her?”
“Just don’t lie to me again.”
“And you haven’t lied? That man in the mask wasn’t even you!” She roared coldly.
“So, are you going to disobey? Should I pierce this woman’s wrists and ankles with ropes, too, so that you can hear her scream?” NôvelDrama.Org © 2024.
It was a threat.
Anne did not know what to do and realized that she had no choice.
“Fine, but don’t lie to me, or I’ll make you pay!”
“Of course.”
After ending the call, Anne headed out of the mall and found the blue car parked by the
entrance.
She walked over without hesitation and realized that the driver was one of the trained assassins from the island.
“I’m Anne. I know you. We’ve trained together.”
“Don’t try to be friends. I won’t say anything that will be of help to you,” the woman said emotionlessly.
Anne took a deep breath and turned to look out the window as the car drove toward more
remote areas.
Anthony would remain unconscious for half an hour at most and he would come after her before they had the chance to leave Luton, but Anne knew that the masked man would have foreseen that.
Ten minutes later, the car entered a building as the masked man had instructed through the phone, where a helicopter awaited on the top floor.
Anne walked over and stopped, not wanting to get inside.
“Get in! Stop wasting time!” The woman behind her urged.
Ann turned around. “Can you just tell me when Lucia will be released? I followed you all the way here and you have to at least give me something.”
“My mission is to get you into that helicopter. If you refuse, the woman will die. Choose
now.”
Anne’s heart sank, but soon made the decision to get inside.
She had determined to accomplish what she came to do and was willing to take the risks.
Just as she stepped onto the ladder, a deafening ‘baam!’ startled her and a bullet mark showed on the helicopter the next instant.
Anne turned around and found Tommy shooting at the woman with a gun in his hand.
