Chapter 1522
Chapter 1522
"Speak."
"Karl Calderon was infected by the virus a month ago. He has gone to a few major hospitals for treatments but nothing worked. Later, he gave up because he didn't have money anymore. He probably committed suicide because he was in pain." Ivan saw that Mr.
Marwood did not say anything, so he asked, "Mr. Marwood, are you suspecting that Karl was killed by someone?"
"I'll give you two more days. Don't forgo any clues at all."
"Yes."
Anthony did not have the evidence. The man committed suicide right before they came to Athetin, so Anthony was thinking if it was because he could no longer endure it or if it was purely a coincidence.
Ivan, on the other hand, felt that since Mr. Marwood was suspicious, then something was certainly wrong with it.
Mr. Marwood could become King of Luton because his strategies and judgment have always been accurate.
Ashlynn wanted to call Anne and ask her when they would be coming for lunch, but she was stopped by Corentin. "Anne already called. They are not coming for lunch but they are coming for dinner."
"Oh." Ashlynn thought it made sense as well. They certainly would want their own space over here.
In fact, it was because Anne could not wake up. She slept until noon before she woke up.
After she woke up and tidied herself up, she could no longer make it in time to Corentin's mansion.
Therefore, she had no choice but to say that they would be having dinner instead.
She had lunch at the hotel.
At night, Anne and Anthony went to Corentin's mansion. Both the married couple, the four of them, were sitting in the dining room, and they looked so pleasing to the eyes that others were envious of them.
There was no seafood at all on the table this time.
If seafood were to appear again, Ashlynn would absolutely get angry at Corentin! All content © N/.ôvel/Dr/ama.Org.
"I've asked my men to look into it. They've not found any clues related to Tommy. If he truly is hiding in some corner, we certainly won't be able to find anything in just a couple of days," said Corentin before he asked, "How long are you guys staying here?"
"We're returning tonight," said Anthony.
"So soon? I thought you would be here for a couple of days." Corentin was surprised.
Ashlynn looked at Anne. "You're returning tonight?"
"Mm-hmm. I'm quite worried about the children. After all, I don't know what Tommy would do in the shadows," said Anne.
Ashlynn thought that the children were indeed important when she heard it. "Alright. You can have fun however you want after this matter is resolved."
Anthony decided to return because if he were to stay, they would not be able to find anything.
Therefore, they might as well return to Luton and let the people here let their guard down.
If he truly could not find anything, then Karl can only be processed as suicide.
After Ashlynn and Corentin sent Anne and Anthony off, they returned to their room together.
"I have something to take care of, so I 'll be going out. You first go to bed," said Corentin.
"Company affairs?"
Corentin pecked her on the lip. "A few people in the business asked me to have a drink at the bar, but I've always been refusing them in the past. I'll just go over today to entertain them for a bit. I'll return very soon."
"Alright." Ashlynn did not doubt him.
Corentin would also occasionally go out to socialize in the past.
After Corentin left, Ashlynn watched a movie, showered, and went to bed.
After sleeping for a while, she felt some movements next to her.
Ashlynn woke up her sleepy eyes, saw that it was Corentin, and closed her eyes in a daze. "You're back..."
"Have I woken you up?" Corentin said softly, "I'm going to first take a shower."
"Mm-hmm." Ashlynn continued sleeping.
After the bathroom door was closed, Ashlynn opened her eyes once again with some delay. She then frowned a little.
Did he not say he was going to the bar?
It seemed like he did not smell like alcohol. How could the people in the business not drink when they got together?
Perhaps they only talked about some things...
Ashlynn grabbed her phone from the nightstand and glanced at the time. It was precisely midnight.
He has spent quite a long time at the bar.
Let him be. As long as he did not do anything bad anymore.
