Chapter 269
"Stop!"
"Stop!"
Two voices rang out, but they failed to stop Olivia in time. Olivia shoved Naomi, who fell back again just as she got to her feet.
However, a figure rushed to Naomi's rescue and caught her in time.
Naomi knew it was Charles from how tender, protective, and assuring his hold felt.
Holding Naomi tightly in his arms, Charles glared-something he never did at Olivia. "Ms. Carver, you were trying to hurt her!"
Charles had never been this...enraged before. It was to the point he felt himself going taut with fury.Belongs to © n0velDrama.Org.
Charles was disappointed when Naomi left the booth as she did not eat the flower. He wanted to be with her. He wanted them to have a good love story, a good start. If they had a good start, he would be more confident about them together.
Naomi's phone call disrupted this. It was as though the universe was telling Charles that his wish would be met with challenges.
He felt dejected.
This was the first time that he was so easily affected by such a small matter. He wallowed in his disappointment, unable to come out of it, until the waiter came to fill up their teapot. At that moment, he realized that Naomi had not returned. He suddenly thought of Olivia.
Olivia was still there.
He immediately got up to see the next-door booth, only to realize that no one was there anymore. Not Olivia, nor that other guy. The dishes were left untouched on the table.
He got anxious and realized that something was not right. He immediately went to look for Naomi.
When he finally found Naomi, he saw her struggling to get up. His heart shattered into a million pieces at the sight. He quickly rushed up to her but Olivia shoved her down once more-right in front of him
He refused to let this matter slide.
Olivia noted how protective Charles was of Naomi like she was his lover. Olivia Sneered. She did not reply to Chartes. She merely turned to Took at the person behind her. S
Connor.
Connor was there much earlier than Charles. He even heard all the nasty things she said to Naomi. However, he did not stop Olivia. He said nothing. He merely looked at them as if they had nothing to do with him.
When Olivia pushed Naomi once more, he finally opened his mouth.
At that moment, Olivia looked at Connor and sneered at him. She distinctly heard two different voices yelling at her to stop. Connor was actually one of them. Why was that?
She looked at him questioningly. He loved her, did he not? Why, then, did he side with the other woman?
At that moment, Olivia's gaze gleamed furiously as if Connor had betrayed her. She refused to accept what happened.
Connor looked at the fury slowly burning in Olivia's eyes and stopped smiling.
His gaze at her no longer had strong feelings. He looked at Olivia's cruel face with disgust. She was revolting.
He looked away and walked over to Naomi.
Olivia saw how Connor ignored her. Not only did he not think he had done anything wrong, but he even looked at Naomi. This infuriated her even more.
