Chapter 274 Growing Fond Of You
For her, a day of waiting felt longer than a day spent in prison.
She couldn’t wait to leave.
Late at night, the clock struck eleven.
The mental hospital was completely deserted, yet the corridor lights remained on. The silent hallway was bathed in a green light, leading to pitch blackness, like an abyss without a bottom. From the icy cold. bathroom, the faint sound of water dripping from the faucet could be heard.
It seemed eerily strange no matter how one looked at it.
The door to the ward swung open, and Nancy saw a dark figure silently passing by. On the ground, a car key and a sharp dagger were dropped.
It was a mystery how the person moved around the hospital so effortlessly.
Nancy’s feelings of hatred had consumed her mind, so she couldn’t be bothered to worry about that.
Instead of leaving in a hurry after picking up the items, she simply sat quietly on the bed, as if waiting for something.
At midnight, the door swung open once again, and Ronald made no attempt to hide his eagerness this
time.
He strode over to the person on the bed and, without hesitation, pulled her into his arms. “Have you taken a bath? You smell so good.”
In the next moment, Ronald was caught off guard. He didn’t even have a chance to catch his breath as a dagger plunged directly into his chest.
Nancy suddenly let out a mocking laugh, her eyes filled with ruthless malice. “What’s the matter? Why aren’t you talking anymore?” she asked while plunging the dagger even deeper into his chest. When she pulled it out, the tip of the dagger was dripping with blood. Her face, twisted in a strange smile, resembled a monster thirsty for blood.
As the dagger was pulled from Ronald’s chest, a surge of blood gushed out, splattering onto her face. A crimson hue filled her vision, a sight that seemed all too familiar to her. It was as if this wasn’t the first time she had experienced such a thing.
With a swift push, Nancy shoved him away. Ronald, with wide-open eyes, fell to the ground, breathless.
Nancy left the mental hospital unimpeded, and a car was already waiting for her outside the gate.
She drove into the darkness, and in the empty night, chilling laughter echoed.
In the latter part of the night, dark clouds hung low in the sky, illuminated by a streak of purple lightning. Not long after, a fine drizzle began to fall. The cold wind carried a chill, and as the gale picked up, the raindrops gradually grew larger and fell more heavily.
The rain pitter-pattered on the ground, splashing droplets everywhere as the downpour washed everything away.
When the nurse on the early shift arrived, she saw blood flowing on the floor.
Startled, she bolted out of the ward. With trembling hands, she dialed the number for the police station.
No one expected this matter to escalate so much.
Nancy, who had her sentence temporarily suspended, had committed murder and was now on the run.
Eileen woke up an hour and a half earlier than usual. The sky was already bright at half past six, but it seemed like the weather wasn’t going to be very good that day.
Looking at the gloomy sky, she decided to bring an extra coat.
As she descended the stairs, she happened to see Jasper at the door. Dressed in a dark blue suit with one hand in his pocket, his posture upright while he talked on the phone. He had his back toward her, but he was alert to the sound of footsteps coming down from above.
A shadow crossed Jasper’s face. “You don’t need to tell me about this. Just handle it as you see fit.” With these words, he hung up the phone. All content © N/.ôvel/Dr/ama.Org.
Eileen pulled out a chair, sipping the oatmeal in her bowl as she asked, “What’s wrong? What happened?”
When Jasper faced her, his expression softened as he sat down beside her. “Fabian is already handling the company matters. You’ve been working hard these past few days, so you should eat more. I’ll pick you up after school for a photo shoot.”
“Alright. I might be a bit late today, though. I have a test after school that will take about forty-five minutes. I can’t skip it.”
Jasper affectionately ruffled her hair. “It’s okay. Just call me after your exam, and I’ll come pick you up.”
-“Okay,” Eileen replied.
Since last night, her right eye had twitched several times, causing a sense of unease within her. She couldn’t pinpoint the source of this feeling, wondering if it was due to the upcoming exams.
After breakfast, she got in the car and returned to school. Jasper was unusually quiet throughout the ride
When Eileen looked at him, it was clear that he was concealing something.
After giving it some thought, Eileen figured out who could be causing him distress, but she chose not to question him about it.
Both of them remained silent.
They soon arrived at the school.
Im getting off now. Remember to have a proper lunch at noon,” Eileen said in a soft voice
Jasper nodded. “Okay”
Eileen got out of the car. The vehicle, which usually would have stayed, had already driven away
She arrived quite carly
“Eileen! Eileen”
Sweating and panting. Natalie rushed over, clutching her backpack When she reached Fileen, she asked

anxiously, “What’s wrong, Eileen? I’ve been calling you several times! Why didn’t you respond? What happened?”
“It’s nothing,” Eileen replied.
“I thought you wouldn’t come to school anymore after getting into the art academy. I never expected someone as outstanding and independent as you to be even more diligent than me,” Natalie said.
Eileen’s lips curled up slightly. “It’s always good to learn more.”
When she took the exam for the Hulbury Central Art Academy, her results came out the day before yesterday. She was admitted with the top score.
In theory, she really didn’t need to come to school anymore.
However, she didn’t have anything better to do if she skipped school.
Her friends and the person she wanted to see were all here at school.
“What about you? Why are you up so early today?”
“My parents are heading back to our hometown and need to catch a flight, so I came here early. I didn’t expect to run into you by chance. It sure is wonderful!” Natalie replied.
She was laughing joyfully all by herself.
Seeing her carefree and untroubled, Eileen thought it was quite pleasant. She didn’t have a multitude of worries, nor did she have to stress about failing exams. Given her family’s financial situation, she could continue to live comfortably and pursue her desires.
“Have you had breakfast yet? I brought some pastries. Last time you mentioned you wanted to try the donut, so I made some extra for you,” Eileen said.
”
Natalie was overjoyed. “Yes, I want it!”
Ever since Natalie had a close call, Eileen felt helpless to make amends. Knowing her love for food, she decided to spend some time each day preparing different snacks for her.
Eileen took out some snacks from her bag and handed them to her. Natalie couldn’t wait to open them. She ate eagerly, her mouth full.
Natalie’s eyes squinted in delight as she savored her food. “This is so delicious, Eileen! I’m growing more fond of you every day.”
“In the future, if there’s something you want to eat, could you let me know? I’ll learn how to make it for you,” Eileen said.
Natalie nodded, then shook her head. “Forget it. It would be too much trouble for you. I’m already very happy just to have you listen to me talk every day.”
“Eileen!”
A familiar voice echoed from behind.
Eileen and Natalie turned to look behind them simultaneously.

It was none other than Yvette with Eric by her side.
Eileen quickly moved away from him. Yvette was dressed flamboyantly, her hair dyed a striking bright red. She wore a tight-fitting long dress and knee-high boots.
It had been almost two to three months since Yvette last returned to school.
She walked in with an air of grace and said, “I rushed back from Friyx just for your engagement with Jasper! Should I start calling you my sister-in-law now?” Turning her head with a playful smile, she looked at Eric, who was walking beside her, and asked, “Don’t you agree, Eric?”
