Reclaiming My Broken Luna

Chapter 147: The Loss of the Wolf

Alpha Theron's POV

The air in the hallway felt thick and suffocating as I paced anxiously outside the emergency room doors.

Astrid is in there, fighting for her life after the horrific accident. I had rushed her here as quickly as I could. We were able to give her first aid treatment along the way and stop her bleeding, but serious damage had already been done. She had already lost so much blood when we arrived at the scene. The first aid treatment that we gave her could only do so much.

With each passing minute, my heart raced faster. Astrid and I had only just met; we hadn't even gotten close to each other yet. I can't bear to lose her again, especially at death this time.

I still haven't had the chance to be her father. The small interactions that we had were still not enough. I haven't even crossed the wall she built around her heart yet. I can't lose her just like this.

I spun around when the emergency doors swung open, and Astrid's Doctor emerged, his expression dimmed.

Asha is the best medical staff we have in the Pack, but I couldn't trust her around Astrid just yet.

It's clear that Asha is still angry and hasn't accepted Astrid as her sister yet. Even though I knew that Asha would never go too far and kill somebody, I still felt more assured about placing this task on our Pack's second-best medical staff. "Doctor Smith, how is Astrid?" Asha asked when I was too lost for words to speak when I noticed the Doctor's grim expression.

As soon as Asha and my son, Andros, heard that Astrid's life was in danger, they immediately rushed here and accompanied me as I waited outside the emergency room.

Asha kept affirming to me that everything would be all right even though she knew that her words didn't help to calm my nerves.

Meanwhile, Andros just stood up the whole time, his side leaning on the wall for support as he watched the closed emergency doors like a guard.

"Alpha Theron," The Doctor instantly turned to me, ignoring Asha when he saw me.

I steeled myself, preparing for the worst. As he approached, I searched his face desperately for any glimmer of hope.

"I'm sorry," The Doctor said solemnly as he met my gaze. "We did everything we could. Astrid's body was still in the process of recovery, and this injury really took a final blow to her. Astrid's wolf... she didn't make it.

The world seemed to tilt and spin around me. Asha was quick to her feet. She instantly held my arm when I momentarily lost my balance.

"Father," Andros quickly rushed to my side when he saw what happened. "Are you alright?" He asked me with his brows furrowed in concern.

I swallowed hard and nodded my head to ease his worries. I grabbed onto Asha's arm to support myself. "I'm alright. There's nothing wrong with me."

"Are you sure, father?" Asha asked softly beside me, making me turn to look at her.

"I'm completely fine, I just felt weak for a second, "I assured her.

Seeing that I had recovered, Asha finally turned her attention back to the Doctor. "Doctor Smith, how could this happen? Even if Astrid hadn't fully recovered yet, we still used the Lunar Elixir to save her life. The Lunar Elixir is a powerful medicine. This should be enough not to cause her to lose her wolf."

Upon hearing Asha's words, I stared back at the Doctor expectantly with hope in my eyes.

ét

"Lady Asha, you are the one who administered the Lunar Elixir to her. Didn't you monitor her health after that? Yo know that even though Astrid's health improved, her wolf didn't. The Lunar Elixir had no effect on Astrid's wolf at all," The Doctor answered back

My breath got caught in my throat when Doctor Smith's words reminded me of something.

I am a pure-blooded Alpha, while Astrid's mother was a pure-blooded Omega. This kind of arrangement is possibly causing an imbalance in Astrid's wolf and body.

That must be the reason why the Lunar Elixir had no effect on Astrid's wolf.

I have always found it strange that Astrid had no Alpha blood in her, even though I was her father. Asha had always tried to convince me that Astrid was not my real daughter because of this.Content © provided by NôvelDrama.Org.

Maybe this is also one of the effects when two purebloods are mixed together.

Asha was unable to talk back when she heard Doctor Smith's reply. I also fell awfully quiet beside her, devastated that Astrid had lost her wolf.

My composure crumbled, all the proud bearing and Alpha confidence drained from my frame as the news hit me like a physical blow.

"Alpha, Astrid still needs your help," I

lifted my gaze back to the Doctor when I heard his words. "Although, Astrid lost her wolf, she is still fighting for her life. Astrid needed a blood transfusion right now. That's the only way for her to survive."

"Then take my blood," I firmly answered. I even started rolling up my sleeves, willing to give up everything if that meant saving my daughter's life.

"Dad!" Asha pushed my arm down to myself, stopping me. "What are you doing? Your blood won't match hers. You're a pure-blooded Alpha, while Astrid is a pure-born Omega. Astrid will only end up suffering more if her blood clashes with yours."
