Rejected Mate's Redemption (Freda and James)

Mates 39

Mates 39

Chapter 39 FRIEDA WHITLOCK When I entered the house, I slammed the door and leaned against it breathing heavily as the image of what I would have done to her if she wasn’t pregnant flashed through my mind. It had taken me immense control over Gia that she was still alive this day since Gia wanted to rip off her throat for claiming her mate. Ex-mate, who for some reason, she still was attracted to. ‘He didn’t accept the rejection’ Gia snapped and I let out a long hiss, staring out the window, watching as Safiya stomped toward the car parked by the road. She was lucky today. However, if she continued getting on my nerves every time, I don’t think she would be spared next time. I balled my fists as I moved away from the window. To an extent, it wasn’t her fault. Kaiden was to be blamed. It was his fault from the start and even though I hated to admit it after what Safiya did out there, he played with us both. He made her feel comfortable and now, she couldn’t handle the heat from his actions. Taking a deep breath, I gazed around the room only to see that no one was present. It seemed like Lyra wasn’t home because if she were, she would come running to me once she heard the door slam. And dad? I made my way to his room but upon getting there, I found no one. He was not even in his bathroom. Maybe Lyra took him out Chapter 39 for a walk around? I spotted the empty jug on the bed stand and picked it up, taking it with me to the kitchen for a refill. When that was done, I headed to my room and dropped on the bed like a bag of chips. My throat felt a bit sore from crying earlier. I don’t think I fried enough but thanks to Safiya I was done crying over silly things Kaiden said. He didn’t deserve a reaction like this from me. This text is © NôvelDrama/.Org.

Fransisco and I were fine. As I got comfortable with my thoughts, the blaring sound of my phone’s ringtone disrupted me and I begrudgingly sat up before grabbing the device from the nightstand. My face immediately lit up when I saw the caller. It was Elle, the secretary at the coffee shop. Since I returned home, I hadn’t given her a call and even though her call made me happy, I couldn’t help the twinge of guilt hunting my system. I should have called. I picked up the call, “Hello Elle,” There was a sigh of relief from her end that made me chuckle, “Oh my goodness, Freda. It’s nice to hear from you after a long time. I was so worried, you know” She expressed her concerns and my chest warmed. I smiled, “I’m fine Elle, you don’t have to worry about me. I’m sorry I didn’t come back as promised but I swear everything of fine here” “It’s okay. I know you had to settle in and all. How is Francisco? Oh, I miss that smart boy” She said and I could picture her pupils dilating as she spoke of Cisco. When I was still there, all my colleagues loved Cisco. So much so that they made him a Chapter 39 special cup of coffee when he came around. Recalling those moments brought tears to my eyes. My coworkers were also part of the train to bring Cisco up and I couldn’t be more grateful that I knew them. “He’s doing very well Elle. How is the business? I believe the sales have been growing exceptionally well” I asked, steering the conversation away from me. “Yeah, sales have been good but the customers miss your coffee,” She said and I laughed at the compliment. “You never told us the secret ingredient to your coffee till you left and for that reason, I’m very mad at you” I couldn’t help the rumble of laughter that escaped my lips this time. I fell back on my bed laughing at her comment. There was nothing special to my way of making coffee. The customers just loved seeing my pretty face standing behind the counter, I guess. But that was pretty because I had the prettiest coworkers.

After a long chat with Elle, we bade each other goodbye after I promised to call her now and then. Speaking with Elle lightened up my mood drastically. I was up and all smiles the next minute as I headed to the bathroom to take a shower. Today had to be a good day, I m**y noted. After taking a shower, I dressed up in shorts and a decent tank top before leaving my room. Lyra and Dad were yet to be back from wherever they went. I had gotten a bit scared when I found out that it had been an hour since I was back so I texted Lyra but she said Dad wanted to stay out more hence the delay. She did say, they would be home soon though. Chapter 39 283 Vouchers I decided to make something simple for the three of us as I felt Dad would be tired after that long time out. Who knew what Lyra was making him do? That naughty girl. Today, we would have breakfast twice. Giggling at my thoughts, I s**d to the kitchen where I got busy with the things I needed to make the simple breakfast buffet I had in mind. As I chopped, sliced, and mixed, I hummed along to the soft tune of my favorite song coming from my phone. I was fast with everything I did. I wanted Dad and Lyra to come home to a feast but maybe that was a thought too soon because I was merely halfway done when I heard the doorbell ringing. Wait. Why were they ringing the doorbell instead of just walking right into the house? I wondered ignoring Gia’s restless movements in my head. She had her problems these days. The ringing of the doorbell persisted and I was forced to wash my hands and hurry to get the door “This must be one of Lyra’s tricks” I muttered with a smile as I twisted the door **b. However, when I pulled the door open, my smile dropped at the sight of Kaiden standing before me. Gia had different thoughts though, ‘Why does he look ravishing now?’ What the heck?!
