Revenge After rebirth (Mayra and Anderson)

Revenge 176

Revenge 176

Two weeks later, Anderson returned later than expected.

Mayra lived a monotonous life that revolved only around attending classes and staying home. Anderson’s question from the previous phone call continued to trouble her. She dared not even turn on her phone and would only text Gordon sparsely.

Anderson would call the landline of the mansion. But whenever the maid tried to get Mayra on the phone, she would make up excuses not to answer.

Anderson was smart. He could brush it off if Mayra had rejected his calls several times. But if it persisted for over a week, he knew she was avoiding him.

During this period, Mayra tried every possible way to remove the bangle but failed. Her hand was swollen almost every day.

It was the last class of the day.

Someone patted Mayra on the shoulder. “Mayra, why are you wearing a jacket in such hot weather? Don’t you feel hot?*

Mayra gave the person a strange look. Then, she took a few steps away and asked, “Have we met before?”

She didn’t recognize the person who patted her shoulder.

But the person seemed amused. “Mayra, I’ve been sitting behind you this whole time. Don’t you know me?

“There’s also her, my deskmate. You can ignore her. She’s usually invisible anyway.” As the girl spoke, she even playfully flicked her

friend’s hair.

Mayra looked at the girl with thick glasses, wild hair, an average appearance, and a face full of acne. However, her eyes were

beautiful and large. She had double eyelids that were slightly

upturned at the corners.

“H–Hi, I’m Stella Davis. A–Are you alone? We’re going for karaoke later. Do you want to join us?” Stella stammered. Despite speaking to Mayra, she didn’t dare to look Mayra in the eye.

“Stop it, she’s already gone! She probably got scared away by your hideous appearance.”

Overwhelmed by low self–esteem, Stella lowered her head. She felt even more embarrassed when Mayra left.

“But I really do admire her cold and nonchalant personality!”

At the school exit, Mayra saw Serena again. Serena was getting into a luxury car this time. Upstodatee from Novel(D)ra/m/a.O(r)g

No matter when Mayra left school, she would see Serena leaving

in different cars these days.

The door to the back seat of the car opened, revealing a middle- aged man. With a smile, he pulled Serena into the car and instantly closed the door.

Inside the car, he said, “Darling, look what I got you! Take a look and see if you like it or not. By the way, do you know the young lady

outside?”

Having mingled in a high–end society since 13 years old, Serena was adept at handling middle– aged men like him. She had met all kinds of men and could see through their thoughts by just their

subtle movements.

All these wealthy men wanted was to fool around with her.

“Thanks, you’re the best! Are you talking about her? That’s my friend, Mayra Sadler.”

As the car started moving slowly, the man reached under Serena’s skirt. “What’s her family like? Invite her out next time. I have some nice stuff at home.”

Serena was surprised by his boldness. “But she’s Mr. Barlow’s younger sister…”

“Mr. Barlow? Anderson Barlow?”

Serena replied, “Yes!”

“Are you close with her?” the man asked.

Serena said, “Of course! We went to Candor City together once. Her brother even taught me how to play golf. Mr. Barlow’s skills are indeed impressive.”
