Chapter 423 Visit The Lawson Family

Chapter 423 Visit The Lawson Family

Chapter 423 Visit the Lawson Family

Jessica was watching them in the dark, having no idea how she could get close to Drake. The two

stayed together the whole time. She could do nothing but to feel anxious.

What should she do?

It was another day, the day to visit Sophia's maiden family and it happened to be on weekend. The

private plane was already waiting for them. Emma and Baron prepared plenty of stuff for them.

Sophia let out a faint smile, "Mom, Dad, you don't have to prepare so much. It's enough."

"No. I know your family probably lacks nothing, but we must give your family enough gifts to show our

sincerity."

Sophia was about to add something when Drake stopped her, "Just let them be. They are happy to do

so."

Well. That made sense.

Bonnie was extremely happy today, not only because she got to visit her grandparents but also

because she could stay with her mother and father.

The minute she boarded the plane, she couldn't stop interacting with them. She was like a little fairy, so This content © Nôv/elDr(a)m/a.Org.

cute and lovely.

Drake would always lose in reverie while watching her. Was she really his daughter? He could never

imagine that he had a daughter who was so adorable a girl.

"Sophia, does she look like you when you were little?"

"According to my mom, yes."

Sophia had little memory about her childhood but watching her child could always remind her of that

period.

"So, you are already that cute when you are a child."

Drake was trying to see what Sophia looked like when she was little through this kid.

"How about having a son?"

Sophia gave him a glance.

Drake hurried to explain, "I'm not trying to get you pregnant. I was just curious. Don't you want to see

what I was like when I was little?"

Of course, she was curious.

"You don't see yourself in her?"

"Well, I admit she's kind of like me, but I think she's more like you."

The corner of Sophia's mouth curved up, "I think I'm going to have a son when I'm in a better mood."

The way she said that made Drake feel that there was some deeper meaning.

When the plane arrived at the Lawson's private land, the Lawsons were waiting for them.

The minute they got off the plane, Bonnie rushed to them with her short legs before Sophia could make

a move.

"Grandpa Abbot, Grandma Laura, Uncles, I missed you all."

For the Lawsons, Bonnie had the magic of brightening their day. Once she showed up, all of them

wanted to hug her.

And she generously kissed all of them.

Some childish men turned their faces to Bonnie, "Bonnie, one kiss is not enough. Give me another

one."

"It's not loud enough. How about another one?"

"Go away. Aren't you aware of how smelly you are?"

Drake and Sophia were not far away. Though Drake had felt that Bonnie was quite important in the

Lawson family before, now he realized her position remained unchanged.

When the gifts prepared by Emma and Baron were taken down, Laura and Abbott walked over.

"Why are you bringing so many things? You don't need to bring us anything. As long as you are back,

we are happy."

Drake said in a respectful manner, "Mom and Dad said that they prepared these gifts to show their

sincerity. You must accept them."

"Oh, Emma." Laura shook her head in a resigned manner.

Abbott had someone move them away while they returned to the living room.

When they were in the living room, it was Bonnie's show time. She performed all the things that she

learned from Grandma Emma.

Seeing that, Drake opened his mouth, "What my mother means is that since she has raised Sophia,

she wants to raise Bonnie as well. So, it won't be necessary for me to find other teachers."

Laura and Abbott were pretty confident about Emma's ability.

"You don't need to find other teachers. Your mother's a better teacher. Besides, with a granddaughter,

Emma would lead a more joyful life. So it's a good idea to let her be Bonnie's teacher."

Though that was the truth, Drake still felt he should ask them first.

Despite the fact that Bonnie's last name was Riley, she was still one of the Lawsons. When it came to

major issues, Drake still felt it necessary to discuss with the Lawsons.

Speaking of that, Bonnie could not stop talking.

"Grandma Emma is awesome. She took me to see the stars with a telescope. I saw so many stars, like

ursa major, ursa minor and Gemini etc. It was so fun."

Emma had a flair for astronomy. She was indeed a talented woman.

That was why Sophia was not worried at all to let Bonnie stay with her grandmother.

Bard could not help saying in a bit jealous way, "It's amazing you can find ursa major, Bonnie. Even

your little uncle cannot do that."

"Never mind. I brought the telescope for you. We can video chat at night. I will teach you."

Edwin bantered, "Shame on you. Your niece is doing better than you."

"My niece is not a normal girl. Look at her mom and dad. How am I supposed to compete with her?"

Bonnie smiled, "Don't worry, Uncle Bard. I think you can do that."

The whole family laughed out loud except Bard.

When it came to dinner, there was a tradition about the bride's first visit to her maiden family after the

wedding. They must eat dumplings. And they must follow certain rules when trying to get the dumplings

out of the pot. But Drake had no idea of that when he was asked by Laura to do so.

"Come, Drake. Get the dumplings out."

Without thinking much, he thought it was only a simple task.

Then there was only one left in the pot.

When he was trying to get it out, Laura told him to stop.

"What?" Drake was totally confused.

When Sophia came over and saw how many dumplings were left in the pot, she shook her head

resignedly.

"Am I doing something wrong?" He was even more confused. Who could explain this to him?

Laura smiled, "It's nothing. Don't worry. Just leave it."

Drake delivered the dumplings to the table while looking like an idiot, "What? Why leaving the last

dumpling?"

Sophia was curious, "Haven't you heard about that tradition?"

"What tradition?"

Drake had been busy working all his life. He had little knowledge of customs and traditions.

Laura started to explain, "Maybe it was a tradition from our generation. It's reasonable that Drake

haven't heard about it."
