Richest Mogul 1303
Chapter 1303
As Joe’s grandmother, it was impossible for Gloria to fail to recognize her own grandson. So, this must be Joe.
Skylar couldn’t help but feel her eyes welling up alongside Gloria. “Grandma…”
“Have you figured it out, too? You know he’s Ned? The news says he’s from Murida, which is why he returned here. That’s why you returned early, isn’t it? Skye, I’ve lived long enough to see through many things.
“I understand there’s more to this story. Are you afraid I won’t be able to handle it? Is that why you didn’t want to worry me?” As Gloria spoke, her heart ached even more for Skylar.
Skylar had been carrying all these burdens alone. After returning, she acted as if nothing had happened.
It was only because she didn’t want to burden Gloria with her worries.
Skylar had been thinking about not revealing the truth, but looking at Gloria now, she realized there were some things she couldn’t hide any longer.
So she shared Joe’s current situation and explained why he had taken on Ned’s identity.
After hearing everything, Gloria’s expression softened, and she let out a sigh of relief. “So, that’s it! I thought he didn’t want me or you anymore and had changed his name and started a
new life.”
Just thinking about that possibility made her heart ache, both for herself and even more for
Skylar.
Perhaps binge–watching dramas for years had filled her head with all sorts of ridiculous and
melodramatic scenarios, leading to such wild guesses.
Hearing Gloria’s words, Skylar felt a mix of amusement and helplessness. “He wouldn’t do something like that.”
“That’s true. I need to have a bit more faith in Joe. He wouldn’t just abandon you and me like that. But has he not regained any memories since seeing you?” Gloria asked. novelbin
Skylar shook her head. “No, he hasn’t regained his memory yet. Grandma, the car accident over three years ago caused him severe damage. From what I’ve found out, he may never recover his memories. ”
At this, Gloria’s face paled again, but then she smiled. “He’s still alive. That’s what matters. Skye, you’re not in this alone. I’ll be here to help you.”
She had initially thought that maybe it was time to join her late husband, Viola, and Joe, but now she realized that it wasn’t her time yet. Joe was still alive.
She was determined to help Skylar bring Joe back to her side as quickly as possible. The past few years had been difficult for her, but Skylar had endured even more.
“Alright, I’ll work with you, Grandma, to get him home soon,” Skylar said as she hugged Gloria tightly.
Gloria and Skylar found comfort in each other.
Meanwhile, in a well–appointed apartment with an excellent view, Joe stepped out of the bathroom after his shower.
After drying his hair, he casually glanced at his phone. Before his shower, he had read Skylar’s message on his phone.
Ten minutes ago, she had sent him a photo.
It was a wedding picture of the two of them looking at each other with expressions that radiated happiness, even through the screen.
As he looked at the photo of the man who looked exactly like him, he lit a cigarette, inhaling deeply as thoughts swirled in his mind.
His mind was filled with images of Skylar.
This woman…
She was influencing his thoughts in ways he couldn’t comprehend.
