Jenny frowned deeply. She pursed her lips. Then, she said, “I’ll be able to keep it from him as long as you don’t tell him. I know you don’t want me to marry into a wealthy family, but you’ve already married Joe. Mrs. Martin Senior also adores you. You’ve got everything you could ever want. Can’t you help me?”
As expected, Skylar was an evil woman. Twisted women like her wouldn’t allow others to do better than her!
Skylar’s smile faded. She stated, “I’m not obligated to help you.”
“You! Does this mean you want to speak ill of me to Rowan?” Jenny was furious. She’d been so humble. Yet, Skylar wouldn’t let her off the hook! What a horrible person she was!
Jenny wouldn’t believe that Joe would always love Skylar.
Vera was eyeing Joe. Perhaps he would divorce Skylar soon. This content is © NôvelDrama.Org.
Skylar didn’t know what to say to that. She sighed. “Think what you want to think.”
“Skylar, do you have to badmouth me behind my back? Who doesn’t have a few skeletons in their closet?” Jenny gritted her teeth. She wanted to swear at Skylar
Skylar wasn’t interested in listening to Jenny’s bullshit. Perhaps she thought everyone had to prioritize her. They were obligated to do so.
Skylar found no reason to continue talking to a woman like that. She stood up and headed to the
restroom.
Jenny was angered and frustrated at Skylar’s sudden departure. She knew Skylar would go behind her back!
She’d just gotten together with Rowan and he was already planning to call off his engagement. Then, he would introduce her to his family. Rowan had to remain oblivious to what had happened. He was her only path out of this mess.
A few minutes later, Jenny noticed that Joe had headed to the washroom too. Rowan spoke to her for a while before going over to talk to his friends.
Jenny bit her lip and headed to the male washroom.
The washrooms for males and females were separated. One was inside the female changing rooms, and the other was inside the male changing room.
She waited at the door for a few minutes.
When Joe walked out, Jenny blocked him from leaving with tears streaming down her face.
“Joe, I’ve made a mistake. I’m sorry. I did do a few wrong things. However, Edwin forced me into doing so. Now that I’ve gotten together with Rowan, I hope that you won’t tell him about what happened.” Jenny excelled at putting on a vulnerable act. She was like a tiny fairy, innocent and pretty. When she cried, it tended to soften people’s hearts. They wouldn’t scold her.
“Do you know the nature of my relationship with Rowan?” Joe asked with a poker face.
Jenny froze. She forgot to continue sobbing. Tears clung to her eyelashes.
“I know… But you raised me, Joe. You’ve always been so good to me. I-
Rowan ran over before she could finish. Upon seeing her by the male changing room, his expression

soured.
“Why are
you here?”
He glanced at Joe. At Joe’s icy expression, he scanned Jenny.
She balled her fists and claimed, “I got lost and thought this was the female changing room. Thankfully, I ran into Joe.”
Rowan sighed in relief at her explanation. He exclaimed, “You’re such a dumb little thing!”
“I’m going to the washroom.” Jenny ran off with her head down. To Rowan, it looked like she’d escaped out of embarrassment.
Rowan shook his head and told Joe, “I forgot to tell you that Jenny and I are together now. I realized that I still love her.”
Joe’s eyes glinted coldly.
Rowan didn’t pick up on anything out of the ordinary. After all, Joe had always been an approachable man. Joe pulled a cigarette out and took a drag. He asked, “What about Minerva?”
“We had no feelings for each other. It was mutually beneficial. In addition, she’s not the type of woman to cling to me and make a fuss. We’ll separate peacefully. She’s been out of Jipsburg for the past week. I’ll talk to her about it when she comes back.
“Right, I noticed that you seem to be giving Jenny the cold shoulder. Has she done something wrong to piss you off?” Rowan didn’t want Jenny and Joe to have a too close relationship.
