Richest Mogul 940
Chapter 940
“Are you hungry? Paul just brought us breakfast.” Skylar’s heart skipped a beat when his eyes met hers.
In the bottomless depths of his eyes, Skylar felt like she was going to drown.
Joe hummed in response. After sleeping, he had recovered some of his strength. He pushed himself into a sitting position with one hand.
Skylar took his breakfast out of the box.
Paul had always planned everything out excellently. Her breakfast with Joe was packed into separate boxes based on their preferences and tastes.
They finished their breakfast in silence.
After that, the workers from Pearlhall Residence came over to help Skylar tidy up. They cleaned the entire room.
When the doctor came to check up on Joe, he monitored his recovery. Then, he told Skylar how she had to take care of Joe. Skylar remembered every piece of advice he
gave. This belongs to NôvelDrama.Org - ©.
Joe glanced at her from time to time and smiled.
Getting stabbed had frustrated him. However, with Skylar taking care of him, his frustration had subsided. Even the hospitals he hated seemed much better now.
“Are you bored? Should I turn the television on?” asked Skylar.
Foreign emotions gleamed in Joe’s eyes, and Skylar feared the abyss within them might consume her. She could buy digital books for him, but she believed Joe
wouldn’t like reading them.
“There’s no need for that. I’ll work.” Joe placed his phone on the table.
Paul had made the necessary arrangements and brought Joe’s phone stand over.
His laptop was placed aside and he handled his work easily.
Skylar read beside him silently. Whenever Joe needed water or to go to the washroom, Skylar took care of him.
Just like that, a day passed.
Ernest and company came over once more while they were having dinner.
In comparison to their careless demeanor last night, they looked extremely pale, as though they were panicking about something.
Ernest was older, and thus better at keeping his composure. However, he was also enraged.
“Joe, was it you? Do you not treat us as your family members? Have you forgotten what your grandfather told you before he passed? You’ve got the Martin family on your shoulders. We’re family, and this is how you treat us? Your uncles‘ company projects ran into problems yesterday. Were they all your doing?” Ernest scolded.
Spencer asked anxiously, “Isn’t this too extreme?”
Joe had hit them where it hurt.
They had started their own companies by taking advantage of the Martin Group. Then, they leeched a great fortune off the Martin Group.
They’d forgotten that their companies wouldn’t have survived in Jipsburg if Joe hadn’t held Martin Group up with his own hands.
