Chapter 25 Love Begets Hate

As time went by, Samuel tried to adapt to life without Matilda.

In the dead of night, though, there was always an immense panic that engulfed him and made him wish

he were dead.

But he knew he couldn't die.

Matilda had left him two children, and he was determined to raise them until they grew up.

He smiled bitterly in his heart. ‘Matilda, you have even set this step. How could I not live according to

your heart?’

He endured it for three months. One day, Samuel took his son Sidney Wilson to the hospital for

physical examination.

Sidney was happy. He opened his arms to a doctor he often saw, completely without the characteristic

of a premature child.

The doctor took over Sidney and thought in mind that though Samuel experienced the pain of losing his

wife, he still had taken care of his children. It was admirable.

He smiled at Samuel and motioned for the nurse to give him the report.

“You have taken good care of Sidney. There is no big problem in terms of health. It is just a congenital

deficiency that you need to pay more attention to in daily life.”

At this time, the doctor noticed Rebecca standing silently with Samuel and took a sigh. He took out a

milk sugar to her to from his pocket.

His daughter, at the same age as Rebecca, had given it to him when he left home in the morning.

Samuel nodded, and Rebecca took it and whispered “thank you”.

The doctor touched Rebecca’s head and said, “Rebecca, play with the nurse for a while, ok? I have

something to talk with your dad.”

Boom nodded and was led out by the nurse.

Samuel said tiredly, “No news on the bone marrow?”

The doctor stopped smiling and said, “Rebecca's condition has become serious. We have not yet found

the right bone marrow. If operation could not be carried out as soon as possible, there will be trouble.”

Samuel pinched the bridge of his nose and his eyes looked sad.

After knowing Matilda died because of leukemia, Samuel took two children to do a systematic physical

examination. It was gratified that Sidney was all right, while Rebecca was found to have inherited from

Matilda's leukemia.

Since that day, he had entrusted the hospital to find the right bone marrow for a bone marrow

transplant as soon as possible, but it had not been found until now.

Sidney was too small and was a premature child. He dared not take the risk of this child.

Mentally confused, Samuel suddenly heard the noise outside the door and vaguely heard someone

calling the name of Rebecca. Samuel was worried, opened the door and ran out.

As he opened the door, a nurse grasped his hand, “I'm sorry, Rebecca had been robbed!”

Samuel strode with the nurse to the top floor of the hospital, which had eight stories. The top floor was

a wide expanse of flat land. By this time, many patients and nurses had gathered in a corner of the top

floor. From time to time, there was scream from them.

Samuel pushed through the crowd and went in. As expected, he saw Laney's venomous face.

She pinched the neck of Rebecca with one hand, and pushed her hard to the railing with the other.

Rebecca’s body was half out of the railing.

At her feet lay a man on the ground. It looked like he helped her grab Rebecca.

By one glance, Samuel's eyes became red.

“Laney!” He cried out, grinding his teeth.

Laney heard his voice. Her eyes wandered around the crowd for a while, and finally landed on him,

showing a smile.

Samuel went forward a step and said with a cold face, “Let go of Rebecca, we can have a talk.”

Laney giggled and looked pitiful ignoring the struggle of Rebecca in her hands.

“Samuel, I have been silly once, I won’t trust you again. If I let go of this child, you will push me down

from here, right?”

Samuel pressed his lips and said nothing.

Laney continued, “Samuel, I have done nothing wrong to you, but what have I got? You used all kinds

of means to destroy my family, Samuel, do you have heart?”

Questions passed through the ears of onlookers on the top floor of the hospital, and many began to

whisper.

Samuel, however, seemed not to hear it. He raised his head and looked at Laney steadily. The frost in

his eyes almost swallowed her.

“You haven't done anything wrong? Who was the mastermind behind the kidnapping? Who brought this

on you with your disability and the scar on your face? Who force Matilda run away when she was at her

most vulnerable? Who deceived me into an engagement, and humiliated her sister? Laney, do you

dare say you didn't do all this?”

Samuel's query came quickly and urgently, like a burst of thunderbolt on Laney's head. She was at a

loss for a while, then she said maliciously, “So what? Who does she have to blame for her own lack of

ability?”

Samuel raised his lips and smiled coldly. As expected, she was Amanda's daughter. They said exactly

the same thing.

Laney pinched Rebecca to sob, Samuel's heart was tight, and he had to say, “Tell me what you want,

but let go of her first.”

Laney smiled sadly and said, “I want 80% of the shares of your company. Will you give it to me?”

Samuel took out his mobile phone and made a call in front of her. Then he looked at Laney and said

calmly, “My assistant will bring the share transfer contract in ten minutes.”

“Ha ha......” Laney gave out a sneer, “Samuel, you have a hard heart. My father was forced to jump off

a building because of debts, and my mother committed suicide in the hospital, now you think a share

transfer contract can get rid of me?”

“Then what do you want? Say it, I'll give you anything I can.” Samuel said.

“I want you kneel down to apologize to me!” Laney said.

Samuel knelt down.

A wry, triumphant smile appeared on Laney's face.

The change was right now!

Samuel suddenly lifted his foot and kicked at Laney. Laney and her wheelchair jumped off.

At the same moment she uttered a despaired scream but pulled Rebecca’s hand.

Even if she died, she wanted her die together.
