Serenity and Zachary York

Chapter 3159

Chapter 3159

After parking the car, Rhea changed out of her flats into high heels. She took her bag and got out of the car.

"Mom."

Dean hugged her. “I missed you, Mom.”

They would only meet each other every morning and night. During the day, Rhea would not be home for lunch as she was busy with work. Her in-laws or housekeepers would take care of Dean.

Although Dean was a sensible child, he was unhappy. He felt like he had lost his mother alongside his father because she had not been spending much time with him.Content © copyrighted by NôvelDrama.Org.

Even during weekends when he did not have to go to school, she would still work. It was either eating or golfing with her clients or attending various banquets.

Rhea’s heart ached. She hugged her son back.

Her nine-year-old son had the body of a seven-year-old.

She always thought Dean's slim figure was a result of her disregard for him because she was preoccupied with her business.

Unlike Liberty, Rhea did not have a kind sister who would look after Dean for her. Liberty could exert herself fully in her career because she had Serenity backing her up.

On the contrary, Rhea could never rely on her family. They had been coveting the Torres family’s assets ever since her husband passed away and she took over the business.

They kept scheming to set her and her in-laws up.

Although they were well-off, they were greedy.

As expected, fights and conflicts would always break out among wealthy families.

The York family was an exception. That was because Old Mrs. York was good at managing her family and nurturing her grandsons. She even hand-picked her sons and grandsons’ wives. The first trait she always looked for was good character.

Therefore, every man in the York family was able to marry a good wife. The heavens seemed to favor the Yorks as well. Their wives were not only virtuous but also gorgeous.

The old lady had outstanding daughters-in-law and grandsons.

Every young lad of the Yorks was good-looking.

Rhea thought, “I'm not as lucky as Liberty and Serenity. If I could marry into the York family... But Old Mrs. York wouldn't have picked me anyway. My family has too many infightings.’

“I'm home, Dean.”

Rhea released her son and held his hand as they walked into the house.

She asked in a gentle voice, “Have you finished your homework?" “Yes. I also finished the ones assigned by the tutor.”

Dean's academic results were mediocre at best. Rhea had spent a lot of money to enroll him into the best elementary school in Wiltspoon, but his grades remained mediocre. He was facing a great deal of stress at school.

His scores were always one of the lowest in class during every test.

To improve Dean's grades, Rhea spent more money and hired a few famous tutors to conduct one-on-one sessions. Indeed, there was an improvement. Although Dean was still not a top scorer in his class, he was not the last anymore.

Rhea had given birth to Dean a year after marrying Mr. Torres. He passed away when Dean was two.

Therefore, she only had one son.

Although the Torres family was successful, Mr. Torres and Dean were both the only sons of their families. Naturally, the Torres family’s assets would be inherited by Dean in the future.

If Dean were not capable enough, he would not be able to maintain the family business.

Rhea may not have had the time to be with her son, but she paid a lot of attention to his studies.

“Did you get all the answers right? Mathematics is your worst subject. You have to put more effort into it.”
