Chapter 392
Mid–Level Mountain Garden was not close to Kitmore University at all
It was raining again, making driving difficult..
When Athena arrived at Joy’s door, it was already 11 at night.
Athena calmly knocked on the door.
The door opened quickly, and Joy, surprised by the late visit, asked, “What brings you here at this hour?
With a smart person, there was no need for subtle or roundabo approaches.
Athena went straight to the point. I’m here to pick up Arthur and Alaric Joy looked puzzled. “I don’t know who you’re talking about. Did you find the Athena looked at her. “What do I have to do to make you hand them over?”
e wrong place?”
Joy stepped aside and gestured inside. “Since you don’t believe me, how about searching for them yoursel Athena stared at her for a few more seconds. “Sure, thank you. I’ll find them myself.”
Athena walked past Joy, checking each room one by one.
The place was small enough that a single glance took it all in.
After a brief look around, Athena did not see any trace of Arthur or Alaric, nor any evidence they had been there at all.
Joy stood with her arms crossed, leaning casually against the doorframe of the study. “You’ve seen the place. Now, you leave.”
Standing away from Joy with her hands in the pockets of her trench coat, Athena stared at Joy and said, “Since speaking nicely doesn’t seem to work, I guess we’ll have to make a deal.”
Joy smirked. “A deal? I don’t need anything from you.”
Athena said calmly, “You seem so confident–relying on your powerful connections, aren’t you? But remember, powerful as you may be, this is my territory, and I’m no ordinary local”
Joy’s expression shifted to mild amusement. “Oh? From your words, you know my background now?”
“Of course. The Rose family,” Athena replied coolly. They may be powerful, but I’ve never had a reason to fear anyone–and your standing with them isn’t exactly secure, is it?”
Joy’s eyes narrowed as Athena continued, “If you push me too far, I could take this straight to the Rose family. You know the consequences.”
Joy’s expression finally changed when she heard the words “the Rose family.
Her once carefree demeanor vanished, and her elegant face seemed shadowed by a thin veil of darkness.
“What Rose family?” she asked, a trace of irritation in her voice. Do you seriously think you can trip me up with a fake story?
Athena ignored Joy’s attempt to feign ignorance.

She said, “Your English name is Rosa Jay. Your father is Augustine Rose, and your mother’s name is Nellie Lambert. You’re one of the reserve members of the Rose family’s Council of Elders, still in the evaluation phase
Joy’s expression grew increasingly darker.
Athena said. “I know a lot more, but I won’t say it again unless you hurt my family”
Joy’s face darkened. “Are you threatening me?”
Athena said, “I’m merely stating the facts”
Joy said coolly. T’m curious–knowing all of this, how do you sti dare to threaten me?”
Athena sneered. “Because I already know who you are, but you don’t know anything about me.”
This sentence obviously caught Joy’s attention.
Joy took a deep breath and stood up straight. She looked straight at Athena and asked, “Who exactly are you?”
Athena smiled. “I won’t tell you. You can investigate, but I advise you not to. Just like I advised others not to investigate you.”
Joy gave Ailična a long, scrutinizing look and adjusted her glasses. “Do you realize just how dangerous your situation is right
now?”
Athena was still smiling. I promise that no matter what happens, you will be in a more dangerous situation than m
-Joy stared intently at her.
Their eyes met.
There was a faint sense of sparks flying in the air
After a moment, Joy looked away. She walked over to the table and took a small sip of her long– cold coffee. “I don’t know anyone named Arthur or Alaric,” she said indifferently.
“But just now, I thought I heard something upstairs. Perhaps you should go check there.”
Athena smiled. “Thank you.”
She turned and walked away.
As she opened the door, Joy’s voice sounded from behind her. “Once you find them, make sure to keep an eye on them. If they wander off again, you might really lose them for good.”
Athena did not turn around. “Thanks for the reminder. I’ll keep an eye on them.”
Joy added coldly, “And remember our deal. With an amount as huge as this, if you break your word, the compensation won’t be something you can handle
Athena said calmly, “My memory is very good. I hope your memory is as good as mine.”
With that, she strode out and closed the door behind her.
After climbing up one floor, Athena pushed open the door to the room directly above Joy’s and saw Arthur and Alaric lying
on a bed.
The two of them seemed to be sleeping well. Their chests were heaving slightly, and they were even snoring softly. Athena walked over and carefully examined their physical signs. She checked their pulses, eyelids, and mouths, confirming

She pondered for a while.
Joy shook her head slowly. “Some things are better left unknown for now”
Downstairs, Athena’s car drove away
Her meeting with Joy this time was peaceful. There were no fight or arguments.
However, if anyone heard her conversation with joy, they would definitely be shocked.
That was the Rose family they were talking about!
The Rose family was one of the most mysterious, wealthy, and influential families in the world.
The family’s history of success was as old as the rise of wealth in the Western countries, with a standing in the West that rivaled even the oldest royal families.
It was often said that multiple financial empires controlled the strings behind Aeloria’s government, and the Rose family was certainly one of them.
Almost every bank, prestigious university, major media outlet, and large corporation in the West had investments or even controlling stakes from them.
The Rose family’s influence could be traced to political revolutions, unrest, or policy changes in various countries.
Despite their considerable power, the family maintained a low profile, rarely stepping into the public eye.
Most of their influence was exerted through intermediaries who shape decisions in Congress, banks, and large corporations. Little was known about the family’s members, their identities, or their positions.
However, Joy was not just a member of the Rose family–she was also a potential future leader of the family’s most powerful branch: the Council of Elders. This meant she could one day become one of the highest authorities in the family.
Such an identity was shocking enough.
What was even more astonishing was that Athena not only knew all of this but also had the ability to control Joy.
Athena was not proud of this.
She deliberately stalled for time and waited for the Donovan family to fall asleep before returning to the villa. Before returning to the villa, Arthur and Alaric woke up.
They only remembered going to Kitmore University to visit some friends, but not finding them, so they ended up eating and drinking in the cafeteria, having a few drinks. Without realizing it, they drank too much and forgot everything.
They even forgot who they were looking for.
After asking a few more questions and confirming that Arthur and Alaric had completely forgotten about Joy and how the female lead of “Chasing the Horizon resembled Zilvia, Athena finally felt a little more at ease.

Arthur and Alaric, feeling guilty for having caused Athena so my trouble by making her gis in the school so late to pick them up, obediently nodded in agreement. “Okay,” they said.
Athena thought to herself. They must have been hypnotized:
Joy’s hypnosis was very powerful.
This way, many things could be explained.
