She Prince

Chapter 14

Kicking a stone on the road with my palms linked behind my back I grunt low impatiently, I’ve been waiting a long time and Wales is not out yet.

“Finally,” letting out a loud sigh of relief I walk to him when he comes out from the door in the back yard.

I came home from school and asked Wales to meet me in the backyard with the household register. His late arrival made me worry because I thought that someone saw him taking it. I decided not go in because if someone sees me being out from the academy in the morning during the class time I’m sure that I will be in trouble because father won’t like it as he needs me to get through the school very badly and being here was the reason why my life changed, but nothing is important when it comes to my goal of avenging. I did not disguise myself for only the sake of my father to get into the school I agreed and did all to take revenge for the death of my loved ones and it can be done only if I change my identity.

Taking the book from Wales I dust the cover getting rid of the cobwebs, seems like it’s never been taken out. I open the book impatiently and flip through the pages and stop when my eyes lands on the name Wen Ling.

It’s hundred percent confirmed now that my father is not an ordinary person.

Holding the heavy book tighter I bring it up to look closely when I notice the word stepson beside his name and the date he came into the palace is inked below.

The statements which has been confirmed in my mind goes back to a mess again.

My biological father is the brother of my Step father?

What’s happening here, I never knew this and no one mentioned about my father not even my mom? Does she know all this in the first place?

“Your father worked here before right?,” I look up to see uncle Wale who is observing me with furrowed eyebrows curiosity written all over his face.

“Yes,”

“Have your father ever mentioned about WenLing,” I ask him waiting eagerly for his answer.

“I’ve actually heard father talking about him, but we rarely meet therefore we don’t speak much,” his voice goes low at the end which makes me to feel bad of pulling the topic about his father who is no more.

“Hey, I’m sorry you don’t have to talk about it,”

“No, no that’s okay,” he shoves off casually plastering a smile on his face.”I think my father was very close to Lord WenLing, he boasts about him when ever we have a chat,”

“Have you seen him?,” I ask leaning forward in interest.

“No, I came here just a few months before you did,”

“Really, I thought you joined long time back then what about your father?,”

“He passed away a couple of weeks after the death of Duke WenLing,”

“Ohh,” keeping a step front I budge his shoulder bringing him out of his thoughts after a long moment of silence “How old were you when you came here?,” placing my arm over his shoulder we walk ahead.

“When I was eighteen,” he lets out a low laugh.

“Really, now I understand why you always asked me to call you brother,” I laugh aloud and he joins me too. Whenever I address him as uncle Wales he always asks me to call him brother but I never did since then because I really liked when he begged me to not call that but it ended being a habit of calling him uncle.

“And then I gave up,” he smiles, we stop in our tracks as I remove my arm from his shoulders, I look him with a wide smile on my face “I’m always grateful that you’re by my side,” My voice comes out low, stepping forward I hug him tightening my grip “I didn’t feel lonely only because of you.”

“Even me, my little sissy,” he chuckles.

Releasing Wales from my hug I step back and glare at him, he pats my head messing up my hair while my eyes are still shooting on him.

“Shall I accompany you to Mount Tian?” he insists his voice sounding in concern.

“I can make it alone,” walking backwards with my eyes on him my smile never leaving my face, he is really a big brother which everyone needs “I got to go,” I wave.

“Be careful,” he shouts waving back at me.

“I will, you be careful too. Replace the book without leaving any clues and thank you uncle Wa… No… no…. brother Wales,” Chuckling I turn around to begin my journey to the mountain.

Stopping on my way I look over my shoulder once again and this is the fourth time I’m doing it to respond my inner sense which is giving me the feeling of someone following me. Wandering ahead I stop abruptly and turn around, moving my gaze to every single side behind me to check. Turning around I run to the opposite narrow lane in a blink of an eye.

Leaning against the bricked wall I clutch up my collar trying to cover up the black dress which I’ve worn in. Resting my head on the wall I look to my left, the right side of my lips twitches up when my eyes lands on the person who is searching for someone his back facing me.

Stepping forward I pull him by his shoulders in a flash and push him against the wall my right arm over his collar bone.Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.

“Why are you following me?,” questioning in a low stern voice instantly after caging him I move my orbs up to look at him. My grip loosens automatically when his face comes to my view “Fang Lei?,” his name comes out in surprise, curiosity and sarcasm.

“What are you doing here?,” I scowl stepping back leaving some distance between us.

“Walking around,” he shrugs his shoulders gazing at me up to down “Did you leave the class to visit the market in the third bridge?,” he questions in way like did-you-do-that-for-this.

“Why? shouldn’t I,” Scratching the back of my neck I let out a sly laugh “I haven’t been around on this festival,” moving my gaze from the ground I face him “Now it’s your turn, What are you doing here?,” crossing my arms over my chest I lean forward to hear him out.

“Same here, I haven’t been around on this rare festival,”

“Did you leave the class?,” My voice comes out aloud in astonishment without my realisation but I’m sure that if the chattering and noise in the environment was absent my vocals would have gone into everyone’s ears.

“What do you think?,” he asks raising an eyebrow amusingly his lips slightly twitching up to a smile.

A smile?

“I never knew you smile,” stepping forward I move my face closer his where I faces are in a mere distance to take a look at him closer “You look good when you smile,” I utter in a low voice taking a clear picture of him while he stares at me his eyes looking directly into mine.

“What are you d……,”

A shriek leaves my lips when I felt the weight behind me of the person who pushed me while walking pass me, loosing my balance I step forward over my right toe which made me to fall forward over his body as he was leaning against the wall, my eyes fall out of it’s sockets in horror when I feel his lips against mine.

This should not be happening even if it’s an accident!
