Sorry Sir I Don’t Want You Back Chapter 70

Cherise kept her eyes locked on her screen phone, but she could still hear her friends and brothers conversing around her.

She heard Paula laugh gleefully. "Serves that mistress right!"

Katherine's seductive laughter followed her, "Seeing Dahlia slapped her in front of all the guests was a sight to behold. How humiliated she must be."

"Who asked her to mess with Cherise Alster?" Tristan said, his voice filled with joy and teasing.

"She was digging her own grave by inviting Cherise," Logan said and Cherise could hear the smile in his voice. "She thought she could humiliate our Cherise, but she didn't know how Cherise would fight back now."

"She's kind of a fool," Katherine said. "She didn't learn her lesson when Cherise fought back against Dahlia and the others at the Angelworld Jewelry store."

"That's the problem with someone shameless like her," Paula said. "They think once they get the man, especially someone as powerful as Hudson, they can do anything."

"A gold digger and social climber through and through," Tristan said. "What I can't understand is why Hudson, who is supposed to be intelligent, couldn't see it." "That's love for you," Cherise said lightly. "Love apparently makes you stupid."

They all went quiet and felt guilty for bringing the topic up. Some sentences are incomplete if you are not reading this novel on NovelDrama.Org. The princess of the Alster family left everything behind and humbled herself to marry a man she loved.

"Don't feel bad for me," Cherise laughed and waved her hand. "It hurt, but it was a good lesson for me.

Julian placed his laptop that was perched on his lap to the table and stretched his legs. "I heard that woman saved Hudson before and he felt guilty and indebted to her. Maybe that's why his judgment was off."

Tristan and Paula. who loved gossip, perked up. "What happened between them?"

"Hudson was supposed to be hit by a car, but Emely shoved him away and she was the one getting hit," Julian explained. "The incident broke her leg and she was nearly amputated, but Hudson and Luis found the best doctor to fix her."

Cherise was dumbfounded. If Emely was nearly amputated, how was she still able to walk perfectly or even dance? And from what she saw, Emely had no scars on any of her legs.

"You believe that story?" Tristan gaped, clearly in disbelief.

"Logan and I don't," Julian said lazily. "Maybe they did find the best doctor or the rumor was exaggerated. But it wasn't our problem so we don't care about it."

Cherise saw Tristan who had an excited glint in his eyes whenever he found a mystery to solve. She groaned inwardly. God, Ace was going to dig out information about that incident. He really loved to lay out people's dirty laundry whether it was connected to him or not. Tristan as Ace was really reckless.

"What's the point of marrying someone because you feel indebted to them?" Paula asked no one in

particular. Even though she had never fallen in love, she still believed in marriages because of love even if it was a rare occurrence for upper-society families. This belongs to NôvelDrama.Org: ©.

"Some just did it," Julian said calmly. "They think since the person saved their lives, they should dedicate their lives to their saviors."

"That's just stupid," Paula said thoughtfully. "There are other ways to thank them."

"I

I agree. If I were Hudson, I wouldn't marry someone like Emely. She's not beautiful and she has nothing to be proud of. She has no achievements whatsoever except for that dance championship and she wasn't even that good," Logan said.

"Right?" Tristan agreed and bounced on his feet due to his excess excitement at the thought of Emely getting what she deserved. "She's nothing special and I'd feel disgusted knowing how she spent her free time. To be touched lewdly by middle-aged men and enjoying it..."

"I won't marry someone like her either," Julian joined in as he placed his laptop from his lap to the table. "As men, I'm sure we have no problems with our future spouses having boyfriends before us..."

His eyes accidentally landed on Katherine, whose lips curled up into the most luscious seductive smile

ever.

It made him think if Katherine was like Emely. She was, after all, from what he had heard, was even more seductive than Emely. Logan's voice, fortunately, broke through his uncomfortable thoughts.

"But Emely is just... slutty," Logan finished for him and they all laughed since they seldom used those words, but Emely was a special case.

"Cherise Alster is back for good!" Tristan squealed and they all cheered but Cherise was quiet until she felt all eyes on her.

She looked up from her phone and asked, "What?"

"Umm... Are you okay?" Tristan spoke while scratching the bridge of his nose.

"Why wouldn't I be?" Cherise asked in confusion.

"Babe, their engagement is officially off. Do you... want him back?" Paula asked cautiously.

Cherise looked at her friends and brothers who all had different expressions - Logan mostly looked pissed at the thought of Cherise wanting to return to Hudson, Julian looked calm, Paula and Tristan looked curious while Katherine had that twinkle in her eyes. "Why would I want him back?" she asked them with a raised brow. "He still cheated on me, ignored me most of the time for three years, let his friends and family bully and humiliate me, and told me I wasn't worthy to have his child."

"Well... You were too quiet when you read the announcement," Tristan said. "We thought you had a second thought about him."

"Nope," Cherise said and placed her phone on the table next to her. "We heard Dahlia said the engagement was off last night, didn't we? So I wasn't surprised."

"So what was on your mind, darling-?" Katherine singsonged. "Care to share with us?"

"I was just thinking how they are going to whitewash themselves," Cherise shrugged.

The announcement only said Hudson and Emely's engagement was officially off and that they would hold a press conference in two days to explain everything. "Wanna bet Emely will cry and pretend to be pitiful?" Tristan smiled wickedly.

Paula rolled her eyes and said to him, "No one will bet against you. We know it will happen. That's her MO."

"Let's all watch it together at Cherise's office and have a laugh at how right we are," Tristan grinned, to which they all agreed, even Julian and Logan.

Cherise could only shake her head helplessly, but a gentle smile graced her face. She knew they wanted to be there for her when she watched the press conference.

No one knew what Hudson would say. For all they knew, he might say he never loved Cherise which led to Emely sending those texts to her. He would no doubt still protect Emely's reputation.

Cherise didn't need them to think she was fragile, but she knew her brothers and best friends, and Tristan were doing it because they loved her. Even though she didn't need it, she was glad they wanted to do it.

And so she didn't complain and stop them. She agreed to watch the press conference with them.

Two days later, Hudson stood on a podium placed in front of the Amery Group's main office and delivered his explanation just as Keith told him to do.

He didn't go into the details of Luis' death, but he told the truth in front of the reporters who had been invited - the truth about his relationship with Emely, the father of Emely's baby, the reason for him marrying him, how she once saved his life and since she was the love of Luis' life, she would always be a part of the Amery family.

He also said it was unfair for Emely to marry him just because of all those reasons, so after discussing it with her, they agreed to break off the engagement so she could marry someone she truly loved.

Emely who stood on the side kept her head down, partly to look like she was regretful and ashamed of everything she had done, partly to hide her hideous expression.

The day before, she was anxious about what would happen to her now that Hudson knew about the texts she had sent to Cherise, her past dalliances, and also how she was the one who aborted the baby and blamed Cherise for it.

She paced around the hotel room Hudson had asked Miles to place her in until the doorbell rang and Hudson appeared.

She felt relieved when she saw Hudson wasn't mad at her anymore, but it was short-lived because he made sure she knew their engagement was over.

When she heard what Hudson's plan was to hold a press conference and for her to explain to the reporters why she sent those texts to Cherise and those lewd pictures, she nearly puked. Especially when he asked her to apologize to Cherise in front of the national television.

If she did that, it was the same as telling Cherise that she had won. That wasn't what Emely wanted. She wanted to be the winner, she wanted Cherise to be the one who felt humiliated and shunned by everyone, but she didn't realize Cherise would fight back and turn the table.

She hated Cherise. So much.

When Hudson told her he was still going to treat her as a family member and gave her an apartment and monthly allowances, she swore to herself that Cherise would pay for everything. She would make sure Cherise suffered.

Emely, of course, had to pretend to agree to speak during the press conference. The more she thought about it, the more she was sure she could gain sympathy by telling them the lies she had told Hudson, Keith and Finley the night before.

She would use tears, act as a grieving girlfriend, blame the hormones, and since no one knew that she aborted the baby, she would say it was only a misunderstanding between her and Cherise.

The part of Hudson saying she would always be a part of the Amery family was the best part. She had indirectly become a member of the most influential family in Country B, though she would still try to marry Hudson no matter what. After Hudson finished his speech, Emely took the stand and began her act flawlessly, mostly playing victim and blaming herself.

With her tears and pitiful look, her understanding of Hudson's decisions, and her heartfelt apology to Cherise, many people sympathized with her.

Emely knew she could pull the pitiful and vulnerable act perfectly as she had done it countless times.

Hudson only heard snippets of Emely's speech as his mind was somewhere else. He hoped Cherise watched this press conference and realized he did this for her.

She should know that he had nothing to do with Emely, that he had never cheated on her, and hopefully, somewhere in her heart, she could find herself to forgive him. That was all he could hope for now.

"And I am grateful that Hudson still treats me like a family member even though Luis has passed away." He heard Emely say.

"I also want to take this opportunity to apologize to Cherise," she continued and sobbed. "I know everything sounds like excuses, but I never meant to do it. I shouldn't let hormones make me crazy. I sincerely apologize and I hope you can accept it." Emely bowed to the cameras, adding more 'sincerity' to her action.

When she straightened up, reporters began asking both of them question after question, but the bodyguards blocked the reporters as Miles ushered both Hudson and Emely into the building.

While the Amery Group was buzzing up after the press conference, Cherise's office was enveloped in silence except for the sound from the TV.

"That was..." Tristan struggled to find the right words to explain what he felt after watching the press conference.

"As expected yet at the same time unexpected," Paula finished his sentence for him.
