Laura rubbed her forehead and said, "It's my fault. I shouldn't have kept it from you. Sorry."

Maria snorted, "Don't be. You're now the wife of the second Max Nixon. I'm just an agent and can't

afford to upset you. We already had an emergency meeting last night and came out with a plan. I'll

send you an email if we need your help."

Laura could only say yes.

Maria paused and continued, "Mr. Nixon should step in to help us if possible. You know what I mean. "
