Such a Rude and Noisy Woman

Chapter 387 A Spent Arrow

Chapter 387 A Spent Arrow

Rachel got what he meant right away and glanced at him with a giggle, saying,"No! Your wound isn't

completely healed, and it may tear open again. For the sake of your health, please wait until it's totally

healed.

Mr. Wolf, you need to do what I ask you to do until the following month. Otherwise, I'll punish you!"

Hiram knotted his brows and laughed to himself bitterly. He shouldn't expect too much and he had

thought that his wife finally knew how to make him happy.

"Stop looking at me like that. It's for your own good. You know it!" Rachel said, and noticing his begging

puppy eyes, she pinched his sharp nose. NôvelDrama.Org: text © owner.

Hiram nodded reluctantly and said,"Alright, alright! I agree! You're always right, honey!"

In the following week, he really stayed at home to rest as he promised. On the other hand, Rachel gave

her best to take care of him, cooking for him, staying with him and changing the dressing of his wound.

After a week of good rest, Hiram was much better than before.

Joanna called several times and asked Hiram to stay with them for a couple of days.

Because Fannie lived with them, she thought that it would be awkward for Gavin and her to come for a

visit.

Thus, early in the morning that day, Hiram went to his parents' place with Rachel and the twins.

"Jonny! Joyce! My dearest sweethearts! Grandma has been dying to see you!" Joanna screamed with

delight the moment she saw the twins. She held them tightly in her arms for a long moment, not

wanting to let go. She was beyond words, and just shifted her eyes between Jonny and Joyce.

Rachel was reluctant to come with Hiram, but Hiram told her that she had to face his parents sooner or

later because she couldn't avoid them for the rest of her life.

So here she was.

After they had lunch together, Joanna was playing with the twins and Lydia went back to her room.

Gavin and Hiram went to the study upstairs.

Looking at the evidence and photos Hiram just gave to him, Gavin shook his head refusing to believe

anything and said,"Tell me, Hiram! What are these for? I don't get it."

Hiram was sitting on the sofa beside the desk with his legs crossed. Glancing at the evidence Luke

gave to him, he said,"Dad, please! Don't pretend that you don't know what they are. You just don't want

to believe them! It was hard for me to believe at first, but the truth is the truth whether you believe it or

not."

Gavin took a photo in his hands. The person on it looked like Lydia, but it was blurred. How could he

believe that it was his daughter just based on a blurred photo?

"Listen, Son! I know that you're trying your best to get Rachel out of this mess, and I totally understand.

But you can't frame your own sister up like that!" he said angrily and he threw the photo on his desk.

That was just impossible. If Hiram told him that Lydia was jealous of Rachel, he would agree. But now

Hiram was telling him that Lydia was responsible for everything shown in this so-called evidence and

he refused to believe any of it.

"Dad, please take a look carefully! All the clues are pointing to her. Aunt Landy never gave birth to a

baby. Lydia made up that whole story. The baby never existed! She even paid someone to give false

testimonies." Hiram said in his calmest voice.

He knew that his father wouldn't believe him right away, and that was why he asked Luke to collect

evidences for him.

"Stop making nonsense! The DNA test said that the baby was related to us by blood, and tell me now,

how could they lie about that?"

Gavin snorted, thinking that Hiram was being ridiculous.

They went to the police station and the officers had filed a report on it.

But now Hiram was here to tell him that the whole matter was plotted by Lydia, and that it never

happened. How could Gavin believe it all?

"Why wouldn't it be possible?

Did you watch them do the DNA test from the very beginning? If not, she could secretly replace some

important details in the test results. I believe that her purpose was to create an irreparable conflict

between our two families, and thus kick Rachel out." Hiram said.

Hiram paused for a moment before he continued to explain.

"If my conclusion is correct, Lydia asked you to let her investigate how Aunt Landy died, and you

agreed. But what happened later was that she reported to the police that Fannie murdered a baby, and

then, all of a sudden, solid evidences were planted to support Fannie's guilt. Didn't you think it was a bit

odd?"

Gavin raised his hand to stop Hiram from speaking further. He needed time to calm down. What he just

heard was too stunning for him to believe, and he couldn't imagine that someone like Lydia could make

all this up from nothing.

Lydia was his daughter. Although she was adopted, she was raised by Gavin and Joanna like their

own. She was a great kid growing up with them, well-mannered, obedient and always knowing how to

please Gavin and Joanna.

However, the girl Hiram just talked about had made false evidences and paid people to bear false

witness to satisfy her own agenda.

'Which one was the real Lydia?' Gavin couldn't tell now.

"Dad, I know that you can't take it all at once, but what Lydia has done to Rachel and her mom is far

more than what I can accept, and I won't stand here just watching it happen anymore." Hiram said with

a deep sigh.

But Lydia no longer had even a shred of conscience, he wouldn't let her have her way.

Because he knew what trouble his parents would be involved in, if Lydia showed her true colors. Yes,

he now believed that Lydia was capable of hurting them.

Thus, he kept his silence until now.

"In other words, I would have thrown her into prison if she wasn't my adopted sister!" Hiram took a

deep breath and gritted his teeth.

Since he had told Gavin everything he knew, he had to do what he should do regardless of Gavin's

reaction.

Meanwhile, Gavin looked at the evidence on his desk silently. He put one hand on his forehead and

shook his head reluctantly. He still couldn't believe it and closed his eyes.

"What's your plan, Son?" he asked lightly after a while.

Hiram's eyes darkened and replied,"We must do what we have to do. In any case, we can't tolerate this

kind of evil, especially not within this family.

Dad, do you understand now why I insisted that Lydia should stay in America? I wanted to stop her

from creating any more trouble. At worst, my idea was for her to spend the rest of her life there. But

look where she is now!"

He wanted to say more but stopped on second thought.

It was Gavin who begged him to let her come back.

It was not his intention, but he put her on the way to self-destruction.

Lydia was too possessive and envious, which brought her so many problems. She and Hiram grew up

together and he always treated her as his younger sister and nothing else. If she could think it through,

getting married and having kids like other girls would be a happy ending for her.

However, she stuck to her guns and wanted to marry her elder brother, but there was no way for her to

look back now.

Gavin uttered a deep sigh and buried his pale face into his hand, groaning. This was all too much to

process at the same time.

Nobody noticed that Lydia was right at the door.

She was leaning against the frame, shivering all over herself with her mouth wide-open.

She felt something was wrong when she saw that Gavin and Hiram went to the study after lunch. She

struggled for a while in her room and decided to go downstairs to see what was going on there.

Unfortunately, she witnessed how Hiram told their father what she had done.

She could imagine the look in his face as he found out everything.

He learned how she tried to deceive everyone in the family.

She now realized that she was doomed for eternity.

She felt like the clown who was fooled in the very same play that she directed.

"Lydia, what are you doing there?" Rachel asked from behind her.

Jonny and Joyce had gone to take a nap with their grandma. She had nothing else to do and thus

decided to go upstairs to find Hiram.

To her surprise, she saw Lydia standing at the study door listening to the two men inside the study.

Lydia was driven to destruction and her anger was pouring out from inside the moment she saw

Rachel. Her pretty face turned hideous as if she was going to swallow Rachel alive.

"It's all because of you!

You are the misfortune of my life! If you didn't show up and marry Hiram, it wouldn't have come all the

way down to this!

It's all because of you! You're a shameless bitch!"

Rachel retreated back by her desperation and wondered what was the matter with her.

"It's all because of you! You stole Hiram from me!" Lydia screamed desperately and approached

Rachel one step after another.

Rachel retreated to the handrails. She found that she had no space to retreat and looked at Lydia

horror-struck.

"I'm going kill you, you bitch! I'm going to kill you!" Lydia yelled. She pounced on Rachel and grabbed

her neck with both hands.
