Chapter 393 Rachel Was Missing
Chapter 393 Rachel Was Missing
After saying that, he walked out of the Ruan family house. He had never looked so disappointed.
Next, he went to the Rong family house. Although he knew that Rachel wouldn't go there, he still
searched every corner of the house.
As he was leaving the Rong family house, with much disappointment, he saw Fannie pacing at the
doorway, waiting for him. She had followed him there.
"Hiram, what's going on? I don't know what you meant earlier! Make it clear. What did you mean 'you
couldn't find Rachel'? She... Where could she have gone?" asked Fannie who became anxious.
Hiram's handsome face remained calm but his dark deep-set eyes no longer sparkled. "She didn't
come home last night. No message, nothing. I've looked for her everywhere, but I still can't find her..."
As he spoke, he hurriedly got in his car again and drove back to H City.
Maybe she had already come back home.
When Hiram returned to Tulip Palace, he yelled in the living room. "Rachel! Where are you?
Rachel, come out! Don't you hear me?"
He roared so loudly that Jonny and Joyce, who just were playing in the room got scared and started to
cry.
Emma came up to Hiram,"Master, Madam Rachel hasn't come back yet. How about you make a phone
call and ask her where she is?"
Hiram made no answer. He tensed his thin lips and went upstairs silently. As he closed the bedroom
door, he went out of control, smashing everything he could lay his hands on - the furniture, the
bedroom TV, and other things. He pulled the curtains down and ripped them to shreds. He let his rage
take over him like a possessed wild animal.
He had never lost his temper that way before. In the past, he could control his emotions no matter how
much angry he was. But this time, he felt so desperate and helpless. Text © by N0ve/lDrama.Org.
He could endure all the unpleasant and painful things in the world.
With only one exception;
If Rachel left him.
One day, two days, three days, four days had passed, and Hiram stayed in Tulip Palace waiting for
Rachel. He sat in a dark corner of the bedroom, staring into nothing, waiting for her to change her mind
and return...
to the Tulip Palace until —
He suddenly remembered something. He walked out of the room and drove to the hospital without
saying anything to anyone. The servants looked each other, speechless.
"Hiram, what brings you here?" said Joanna happily as she saw Hiram. But when Hiram walked closer,
she saw the 4 day old stubble on his face. Her smile faded.
"Hiram, what happened? Why do you look so haggard? Is your wound painful again? Has no one been
taking care of you? Where is Rachel?" asked Joanna anxiously, quickly noticing that Hiram was not
behaving normally.
Hiram didn't respond to her as he passed by. He went into Gavin's ward in big, determined steps.
Gavin was lying on the sickbed, reading a book with his astigmatic glasses. When he saw Hiram walk
in, he took them off and looked at him.
"Hiram, you are here," he exclaimed.
Hiram hovered over him and asked,"Dad, tell me. What on earth did you say to Rachel when she
visited you the last time?"
"What did I say to her? Nothing! Everything is fine. Why are you suddenly asking?" asked Gavin in a
defensive tone, putting the book on the table beside him.
"She has been missing for five days now. I can't find her anywhere. Dad, tell me! Did you have
something to do with this? What did you say to her? !" said Hiram in a deep and serious voice.
Gavin paused for a moment, and took a deep breath, then he said,"Yes. I told her that I wanted her to
leave you. Landy died. Lydia became a vegetable. I can't stand to see anyone from the Ruan family as
long as I live!"
He said straightforwardly. He always admitted what he had done and never lied or found an excuse to
get himself free from blame. It was his personality.
Joanna also walked into the ward. "Hiram, what did you say? Rachel is gone?" she asked in surprise.
Hiram clenched his fists. His deep-set eyes flashed with rage. Suddenly, he kicked the cabinet beside
him and punched the wall. The cabinet door fell with a thud as it came off the hinges.
He punched the wall so heavily that his fist started bleeding.
"What right do you have to make her leave? She is my wife. You drove her away. Since you did all this,
tell me what I should do now? !" Hiram roared. He couldn't control his rage and yelled at Gavin's face
like an angry lion.
"Hiram, don't be like that... Your father is also suffering..." Joanna was scared seeing her son furious.
There was a tremble in her voice as she said,"Hiram... let me...um call a nurse. Your hand is
bleeding..."
Hiram's eyes were bloodshot and he was breathing heavily. He stared at his father, who was lying on
the bed, and said,"You lost your daughter. Now do you also want to lose your only son?
I tell you. If Rachel doesn't come back, we can forget about any family ties that we have. I won't go
back home, and you are no longer my father!"
As soon as he finished his words, he turned around and stormed out of the ward, slamming the door
behind him.
Joanna saw that the ward was a complete mess and Gavin was lying on the sickbed silently. She
couldn't help crying. "Gavin. Are you satisfied now?
You always wanted Rachel to leave, and now she actually left. So are you finally happy now, huh?"
Joanna had also urged Rachel to leave because at that time Gavin's condition got worse. But now she
couldn't believe what she had done.
Gavin closed his eyes, and tears rolled down his face. His shoulders were shaking.
Rachel did leave. But his son also left him.
Was he wrong to ask Rachel to leave?
"Was I wrong? Was I wrong?" Gavin gripped the quilt tightly and asked himself repeatedly.
"Gavin, you stubborn old man. Rachel had disappeared and Fannie also won't appear before you. Do
you really feel happy, now that they are gone?" Joanna faced Gavin while tears rolled down her face.
"You should know how that feels now. You have been wrong from the very beginning. Rachel left. You
lost your son, and your grandchildren lost their mother!
I've tried so hard to stop you from being too hard on Rachel... to stop you from driving her away. But
you never listened. What can we do now? Huh?"
Joanna shouted at him. She had shouted so hard that she hurt her vocal cords and became hoarse.
She hoped that he could let it go because only a harmonious family could live happily.
What he should do was to forgive and forget the things happened in the past and let them go. How did
he become so stubborn and let those things haunt him?
But he never listened to her!
Gavin hung his head and clenched his fists.
He never thought that Hiram would disown him. Rachel left but she also took away Hiram from him.
She took with him, his son who was always gentle, elegant, humble and obedient...
After striding out of the ward, Hiram grabbed a bandage from the tray held by a nurse casually and
bandaged his hand himself. He walked out of hospital and got in his car.
"Chad, check all the video recordings from the security cameras in H City. No matter what means you
use, find Rachel!"
Chad heard his angry voice and didn't dare to ask him anything. "Okay. I'll do it right away." he
responded.
Hiram drove his car around the streets of H City. Although several days had passed, he still felt that
Rachel was always by his side and that she didn't leave him.
She must have felt miserable. She could be in a bar, drinking alone. Or, she could be foolishly sitting on
a bench in a park, reading a book.
He drove across every street. Every time he saw a park or a bar, he stopped and searched all corners
of it.
When Chad found him, he was sitting on a bench by the street, smoking.
"Hiram, you haven't taken a rest for several days? Your wound hasn't completely healed. You need to
take good care of yourself too. How about you go back and have a good sleep now?
You'll have more sufficient energy to find Rachel when you wake up!
Hiram, don't worry. No matter where she goes, she will have to use her identity card. I've arranged our
man to check the records in every hotel, every station and every airport. There will be some useful
information soon!"
Chad urged him. He had never seen him like that. He suddenly felt sorry for him.
In Chad's eyes, Hiram was always proud, elegant and powerful. But now he...
Hiram sucked deeply on the cigarette and exhaled the smoke slowly. His deep-set eyes were filled with
disappointment.
If she really wanted to hide herself, looking for her would be like looking for a needle in a haystack.
'Rachel left. Is she really going to be so cruel to me?
Didn't she say that she would never leave me as long as I trusted her?
Now she left. She abandoned the kids. She also abandoned me. Did she really leave us behind, not
caring what would happen to us?' he thought.
