Chapter 108
Chapter 108
Dylan immediately called Kevan. The call went through, but no one answered the phone.
In a state of panic. Dylan didn’t have time to wait for Larissa, who was following behind him. He ran to the nurses‘ station in a hurry.
A missing patient was a big deal in any hospital. In addition, everyone was still reeling from the recent suicide case. All the nurses had left to search for Kevan, leaving only one nurse on duty at the nurses station.
At Dylan’s request, the nurse made an announcement over the loudspeaker, “Mr. Rogers, your friend is walling for you in the ward. Please return as soon as possible when you hear this announcement!
In a daze, Larissa realized the gravity of the situation.
“Should we check the surveillance lootage?” she asked Dylan.
“Let’s wait a bit” Dylan replied without looking up as he fiddled with something on his phone. Content (C) Nôv/elDra/ma.Org.
“Go to the ward and wait for Kevan,” he added. “So that if he comes back, someone is there waiting for him,”
Larissa followed Dylan’s instructions and went to the ward as she knew she couldn’t be of much help.
The announcement was broadcasted throughout the hospital every two minutes.
As time passed, Larissa became increasingly anxious as negative thoughts filled her mind.
After nearly half an hour, Dylan returned with Kevan leaning on his shoulder. Larissa quickly went up to them,
“Where did you go? Her tone was reproachful because she was nervous and worried sick for him.
Kevan didn’t look any better from when they left, in lact, he seemed even paler. There was a disturbing patch of dried blood on his right hand from pulling out the IV needle midway through the drip. In addition, he did not put any pressure on the wound to stop the bleeding.
“I met an acquaintance, that’s why I went out to chat with him for a bit.” Kevan hid his right hand behind his back discreetly, his lace devoid of any expression.
“Is taking to an acquaintance more important than your own health?” Dylan shoved Kevan onto the bed and glared at him “Lie down and stay still! I’ll get the nurse to reinsert your IV drip.”
Dylan had taken the words out of her mouth so Larissa said nothing. Hands hanging by her side, she stood aside in silence.
“When are you going back to work at the Regal Dynasty Hotel?” Kevan asked her suddenly.
Startled. Larissa replied honestly, “Tomorrow,”
Kevan furrowed his brows slightly. “So soon? Can’t you postpone it for a few more days?”
“Tve been on leave for over a week already,” Larissa answered.
The amount of leave she had taken during this period was more than what she took for the previous year entirely. Her year–end bonus was going to go down the drain.
“Take a few more days off,” Kevan suggested. “Travis‘ family might cause trouble at the Regal Dynasty Hotel
However, Larissa had already considered these factors. “I will call the police.”
Since the messy affairs between her and Travis were now public knowledge, she no longer had to hide this issue from her colleagues. Instead, she could take a tougher approach to dealing with the Hardy family.
Kevan pursed his lips. “You must be exhausted from the events of the past two days.”
*I’m fine.” Except for nearly passing out when she had climbed up the mountain yesterday, Larissa didn’t feel particularly tired.
“When I used to work day and night shifts consecutively, I was much more exhausted than I am now,” she continued.
Unable to think of any other reason for Larissa to extend her leave, Kevan ordered with a stern face, “Anyway, you can’t go to work next week. Il notify your general manager in a moment.”
Larissa found his insistence absurd. “Why?”

She had a feeling that Kevan was hiding something from her, but she couldn’t figure out what I was.
“There’s no specific reason.” Kevan had just finished speaking when a nurse came in with another IV drip.
“This time, don’t disappear midway before the IV drip is fully administered. You really scared everyone in the department just now.” she admonished.
With an indifferent expression, Kevan appeared unapologetic. On the other hand, there was a hint of impatience on his face at getting reprimanded.
It was Dylan who apologized on his behalf, “Sorry for the trouble you went through. We will take good care of him.”
After the nurse finished setting up the IV drip. Larissa resumed the previous topic. “Regardless, I’m going back to the hotel to work tomorrow.
Kevan looked up and fixed his eyes on her coldly.
However, his weak state made his gaze less intimidating than before.
Larissa met his eyes fearlessly, staring back at him,
