Chapter 93
Chapter 93
That simple sentence felt like it had saved her life. Immediately, Larissa forced her eyes open.
The summit stretched ahead of her, and there were no longer any tormenting stairs in sight.
“Mr. Rogers!” A man dressed in Starville’s uniform rushed over and held a large, black umbrella above Kevan’s
head.
“Are you alright? Do we need to send a car over for you?”
The summit had rather spacious roads. Some of the hotels on the mountain would send over their own
electric cars the size of golf carts to the cable car station to transport their guests with large items and luggage.
Kevan was fine with walking there himself, but Larissa-
She’d long stood back up on her feet, and was pulled under the umbrella by him.
She still looked tired, but she no longer looked as sluggish as she was before. She seemed to have regained
some energy since their arrival.
“Do you want to take a car?” he asked her.
Larissa nodded.
It wasn’t that she couldn’t walk. It was just that Kevan was completely soaked, and if he didn’t shower and
change out of his wet clothes as soon as possible, she was afraid that he would get sick.
It took them almost ten minutes to drive from the entrance of the mountain to the Starville Hotel.
There was already someone waiting for them when they arrived at the hotel lobby. As soon as Kevan stepped out of the car, they immediately led him to his room.
“Your luggage has already been sent over yesterday and we’ve placed them all in your room.”
After giving him his room card, they nodded and left.
Kevan unlocked the door with a quick scan and stepped into the room. Larissa, however, stood unmoving. Content is property © NôvelDrama.Org.
“What?” He raised a brow as he looked at her, his eyes questioning.
Larissa licked her lower lip. “Are we sharing the same room?” she asked hesitatingly.
“What do you think?” Kevan shot back. “Don’t forget that you’re my girlfriend now.”
He emphasized the word girlfriend, his arms crossed in front of his chest, his gaze collected despite his inner
turmoil.
“But it’s fake- Larissa lowered her voice.
“The organizers don’t know that.” Kevan spoke in a matter–of–fact tone.
“Then-” Larissa hesitated again before crossing her heart and making up her mind. “I’ll go down and book a
room for myself.”
She would rather pay a few thousand dollars for a room.
Kevan scoffed. “Just come in.” Then, he walked into the room without sparing her another glance, his voice colder than the rain in the mountains. “This is a large suite with a few bedrooms. All the doors can be locked
from the inside. You don’t have to worry about me doing anything to you.”
Larissa realized this belatedly and blushed in embarrassment.
She hurried over and was about to explain to Kevan that she hadn’t been worried about that in the slightest
when he’d already walked into the bedroom located in the innermost part of the room and closed the door.
Larissa picked the bedroom furthest to his.
As they were both properties owned by Microworks Corporation, the interior design and general decor of the rooms in Starville were similar to that of the Regal Dynasty. The only difference was the addition of nebulae-
like decorations on the ceiling that corresponded to the hotel’s name.
It looked rather astounding.
Someone knocked on her door.
“It’s me.” His words were succinct.
Even if Kevan hadn’t said anything, Larissa wouldn’t have thought it would be anyone else.
She pulled open the door as he pushed a box into her room.
“Your clothes.” Once again, he spoke in monosyllabic, two–word sentences before turning to leave.
Larissa opened the box in bewilderment. Inside, there were a few sets of clothes with different styles– there was formal wear, casual wear, and even a pastel pink silk nightgown.
Of course, it was also filled with lacy, girly underwear.
She was almost entirely certain that whoever prepared this box of clothes now was the same person who’d picked her clothes the last time as well.
