Take Me Away

Chapter 50 Give Him To Me

Chapter 50 Give Him To Me

"Fiona..."

There was hesitation in Spencer's voice as all three of them froze on the spot.

Fiona couldn't decide whether to enter the room or leave. She couldn't believe what she just saw—

Spencer and his sister were kissing each other.

Celine quickly wiped off her tears and turned to Fiona. Walking up to her, she said, "You must be

Fiona."

Fiona's eyes instantly moved to Celine's slightly faded lipstick. With a blush, she turned her head away.

Recalling how she saw the two of them bent over in a kiss made her terribly uncomfortable and upset.

"I'll get to the point. I like Spencer. Will you give him to me?" Celine blurted completely unabashed.

Although what she said was in the form of a question, Fiona was certain she wasn't really asking.

Her words stunned not just Fiona but Spencer as well.

"Celine!" Spencer roared. "Are you crazy? What are you talking about? Leave now!"

But Celine remained where she stood. She kept her gaze fixed on Fiona and repeated, "Give him to

me!"

Fiona wasn't taking any of her attitude. Raising her head and straightening her back, she turned to

Spencer who was standing by the window. Looking back at Celine, she said casually, "Why are you

asking me? He's not mine to give."

Spencer's wide eyes and gaping mouth betrayed his shock as he looked at Fiona. He clenched his

hands in anger, but there was a trace of pain in his expression.

"I see." Celine gave Spencer a tepid smile before leaving the room.

As soon as she left them alone, Fiona headed straight to the bathroom, completely ignoring her

husband. If only it were not their wedding night, she would've rushed out of there.

She locked herself in the bathroom and ran water over the tub. Her mind was still replaying the

shocking scene she had just witnessed.

Just then, the loud slamming of the door disturbed her thoughts.

Fiona looked up to check what had happened.

Spencer had kicked the door open and was staring at her with angry eyes. He didn't say anything but

Fiona felt as if his presence had filled the small bathroom.

She returned his gaze with equal boldness and said indifferently, "I'll be taking a bath. Please get out!"

Enraged, Spencer grabbed her by the chin. He forced her to look at him as he said, "And where do you

want me to go? Hmm?"

Fiona struggled to break free from his hold. "Just stay away from me..."

"Ha-ha!" Spencer laughed. "Have you forgotten that it's our wedding night? Why are you pushing me

away? Do you want to take the whole room for yourself?"

"Wedding night?" Fiona mocked Spencer. "Then why was the groom kissing another woman?"

"Are you jealous?" Spencer said with a cruel smile.

"You make me sick!" Fiona spat. "What a shameless man you are! How dare you touch me after what

you've done!"

The smile on Spencer's face quickly faded. He clenched his fists as if trying to stop himself from hurting

her. "It's all thanks to you, Fiona! If it weren't for that car accident, she wouldn't have become my

sister!"

Fiona blinked in confusion. 'What did he mean?'

"Do you have any idea just how cruel it felt to see her become a member of my family?" There was

pain in his eyes as he spoke. Memories rekindled by the sudden appearance of Celine stirred old

feelings in his heart. "She was right there, just within my reach, and yet I had to contain myself. Do you

have any idea how that felt?"

"But how does this have to be with the car accident?" Fiona asked.

"My mother wouldn't have died were it not for that accident! My father wouldn't have remarried. He

wouldn't have taken Celine's mother as his new wife!" Spencer yelled in a cathartic confession.

There was silence in the room before Fiona burst into laughter. "I didn't realize that's why you hate me

so much. You think I'm your enemy? Do you have to ruin my life just to be satisfied?"

"You think that's not enough?" Spencer asked sarcastically. It was Celine who offered him comfort

during those dark days after losing his mother. And just when he was about to move on and let go of

the pain, he learned that Celine was going to be his step-sister! It was the succession of misfortunes

that dealt the heaviest blow. Content property of NôvelDra/ma.Org.

"You are hopelessly stupid, Spencer!" Fiona's laughing fit made her eyes tear up. "Even if the car

accident never happened, do you think you'd end up spending the rest of your life with Celine?" Do you

think your love is strong enough to endure all the hardships that come with a relationship? You might

have gotten together, but Celine would've probably broken up with you!"

"You..." Spencer raised a hand and was about to slap her in the face.

Seeing this, Fiona frowned but kept her head steady to meet the hit.

"I don't beat women," Spencer said as he struggled to control his emotions. He clenched his fist and let

his hand drop to his side. "But I know what will hurt you!" All of a sudden, he lifted her up and carried

her to the bedroom.

"Let me go! Put me down! You bastard!" Fiona struggled to break free despite knowing that going

against Spencer's strength was a battle she wouldn't win.

Spencer threw her on the bed. She tried to punch and kick him but he was able to block her every

move. With the sharpest of eyes, he looked at her and said, "This reaction of yours is just turning me

on."

"Spencer!" Embarrassed and indignant, she grabbed him by the arm and bit him on the shoulder.

Spencer snorted. He could barely feel Fiona's bite through his clothes.

Fiona bit him with all of her strength and didn't let go until she thought she tasted blood in her mouth.

When she withdrew, her teeth had left a noticeable print on Spencer's shirt. Fiona gave him a mocking

laugh but he warned, "Since you're done being violent, it's now my turn!"

"You're touching me again after you've just touched another woman? Don't you feel ashamed of

yourself?" Fiona stared at the man who towered over her.

Spencer stiffened but eventually managed to sneer. "You don't deserve to be compared to her. Yes, I

will touch you. And you should feel honored!"

Fiona flushed and tried once again to fight off her husband. But at that point, Spencer only thought her

struggles ridiculous. There was no escaping him.

Outside, red lanterns illuminated the courtyard, as if wishing the newlyweds a romantic night. But inside

their bedroom, the scene was like a battlefield riddled with crossfires of the sharpest words. Who could

say who was hurting the most?

Fiona was up bright and early the next morning. In a foul mood since Celine's sudden appearance,

Wayne kept to his bedroom and didn't bother to go downstairs. 'Does Grandpa dislike Celine because

he knew about the relationship between her and Spencer?' Fiona wondered.

In the large dining room, the family sat down to eat the breakfast Fiona prepared.

It was Ethan who spoke first. "The food is really good, Fiona. Spencer's a lucky man."

"Yes," Anna said with a smile. "I'm sure you'll be a good wife and mother, Fiona."

Fiona smiled back in response but it didn't quite reach her eyes.

"So what brings you back all of a sudden, Celine?" Ethan asked, trying his best to act casual. It was

Wayne who had sent Celine abroad for studies. She was allowed to return once she'd finished college.

She could've come back anytime in the last two years, but she chose to come home on the very day of

Spencer's wedding.

"I have a job offer from a company here," Celine smiled. "I've been away for many years. I missed my

home so I thought I'd settle down here in M City."

"I see." Ethan nodded. "Will you be staying here then?"

"Oh, no. The company I'll be working for is quite far from here. I rented an apartment."

"It's not safe to live by yourself," Spencer blurted, but kept his eyes on Fiona. "Give me another bowl of

porridge."

Fiona took Spencer's bowl and turned away, seemingly unaffected by his words. Her indifference only

made his blood boil.

Hearing him, Celine kept her head down but smiled.

"Yeah, it's not safe for you to live alone," Ethan agreed with Spencer. "You're at the right age, Celine.

Maybe it's time you get a boyfriend to keep you company." Turning to Anna, he added, "Maybe there's

someone in the neighborhood who would be a good match for Celine. You should introduce her."

"Okay," Anna replied timidly.

Celine cast a glance at Spencer as she said, "But it's not easy to find someone I truly love."

At that moment, Fiona returned with Spencer's food. Hearing everything Celine had just said, she put

the bowl in front of Spencer and said with a casual smile, "Uncle... I mean, Dad, it's getting late. I have

to go back to school."

"Isn't it too early?" Anna asked.

"I have early classes and I don't think it's a good idea to run late." Fiona smiled as she turned to her

father-in-law. "I'm leaving, Dad."

She was about to head out when someone grabbed her wrist. Turning around, Fiona was surprised to

meet Spencer's cold stare.

"You seem to have forgotten to say goodbye to me." Spencer stood up. "I'll walk you out."

Before Fiona could refuse, he had dragged her by the arm. Celine frowned as she watched the two of

them leave. She seemed to have lost her appetite.

"I'll be going back to the base," Spencer said as he walked with Fiona. "I'll be very busy so I don't know

when I'll get back."

There was a long pause before Fiona replied, "Hmm." This angered Spencer who shook her hand off.

"I think I better drag you to the base with me."

"I think the person you should be dragging is in the dining room," Fiona said with a mocking smile. "Go

back to the base. Do what you want."

Spencer was full of rage. Squinting, he shouted, "Fuck off!"

Fiona turned around and left without sparing a glance at him.

Spencer merely kicked the air in anger.
