TAMING THE BEAST IN HIM ( His Red Phoenix )

Phoenix let out a groan in pain. She was still lying on the floor beside the window. She slowly opened her eyes, as weak as ever. She looked around and her eyes widened a bit at how scattered the room she was in was.

” Axion must have destroyed everything ” She thought as she tried getting up. She felt a strong pain run through her back, making her groan even in more pain. Just as she was still struggling to get up, she heard the sound of something shattering to pieces, followed by a loud snarl.

” Axion ” She exclaimed in worry. She placed her palms on the floor, trying to support herself, but her arms were too weak to even stand, making her slump back to the floor.

” Mom, I need your help please ” She pleaded, closing her eyes. The necklace on her neck glowed as she closed her eyes and she felt something run down her whole body. It was as if, all of a sudden, she wasn’t feeling weak anymore. She could feel her strength coming back and the pain she was feeling vanishing.

With that, she sprang up from the floor and rushed out of the room. She went to Axion’s room and saw it already turned upside down, with everything in it, shattered. But Axion wasn’t there. She rushed downstairs immediately.

And just while she was still on the stairs, she saw Axion, in the living room, grabbing the big TV and smashing it to the floor. He was roaring and growling, scratching his body aggressively, such that he was wounding himself and blood was oozing out. From the look on his beast face, Phoenix could see he was disgusted with himself.

She rushed down to the sitting room.

” Axion stop! ” She snapped, standing before him.

” Stop hurting yourself ” She added. The only thing she received from Axion was a hard slap across the face which sent her flying and crashing to the wall. Marks of cuts from his sharp claws can be seen on Phoenix’s face, coupled with some blood.

” Axion please stop ” Phoenix wimped in pain. Axion walked up to her and grabbed her by the neck, pinning her roughly to the wall.

” Please ”

” I told you to stay away from me, didn’t I?! ” He breathed angrily at her face, making Phoenix look away, wincing in pain.

” I’m only going to hurt you the more if you keep coming close! I’m a beast, a monster and all I want right now is your fucking blood, I want to bite your head off! ” He growled, his saliva pouring down.

” But I’m trying as much as I can for that not to happen, but you aren’t helping matters. ” He let go of her neck and she dropped to the floor.

” Don’t make me change my mind ” He glared at her before turning his back on her. Phoenix managed to get up despite how weak she was and just when Axion was about to grab the sofa, she hugged him from behind.

” I don’t care. I’m supposed to protect you, so I’m not leaving you to keep hurting yourself ” She said in a determined tone. Axion froze on the spot for a moment.

He was shocked by the fact that, despite hurting her several times and telling her to stay away, she still insisted on staying with him. No one has ever told him that, not even his own family.

He was touched, but that angered him too. He grabbed her by the arm, pulling her away from him, his claws digging into her flesh.

” Axion, you’re hurting me, please stop ” Tears rolled down her cheeks.

” I warned you ” He muttered under his breath and, as usual, threw her away. Phoenix shut her eyes close, expecting to crash into the wall or anything, anytime soon. But to her surprise, nothing happened. She opened her eyes and was surprised to see herself handing in the air.

She looked down and saw no other than Glinda, holding her with her powers. Happiness ran through her on seeing Glinda. Glinda slowly brought her down and she quickly hugged her.

” I’m so happy you’re here, aunt ” She mumbled as tears of joy rolled down.

” Are you ok? ” Glinda asked and one could sense how worried she was like she was expecting Axion to have hurt Phoenix.

” I’m fine, aunt, but Axion isn’t. Something happened to him, he… he…”

” He turned into a beast, I know ” Glinda completed the sentence for her, much to Phoenix’s surprise.Belonging to NôvelDrama.Org.

” You knew? ” She asked.

” I’ll explain later, come with me ” Glinda grabbed her hand and pulled her along upstairs.

” Aunt, where are you taking me to, Axion…

” Just come with me Phoenix, this is for Axion’s sake ” Glinda cut her off. They got to a room which Glinda unlocked hurriedly with a key. As they entered the room and Glinda turned on the lights, Phoenix’s eyes widened.

The room was filled with nothing but bows and countless sharpened arrows. The arrows and bows were a bit bigger than normal-sized ones. Glinda snapped her fingers and a chalk appeared in her hand.

In the middle of the room, she drew a very big circle on the ground.

” Grab as many arrows as you can and place them all around the circle ” She instructed Phoenix, who was more than confused.

” What for? ” She questioned.

” Just do it, we don’t have much time! ” Glinda snapped and Phoenix complied. She grabbed only 5 arrows and placed them all around the circle while Glinda took the big bow and placed it in the middle.

” Step away, Phoenix ” She commanded and closed her eyes. She placed her hand on the other, like she was praying, muttering some incantation Phoenix couldn’t understand.

Just then, what looked like a big bowl appeared in the circle. The bowl started filling up with blood and Glinda reached out and dropped a leaf inside the bowl. Phoenix only stared with parted lips and eyes almost popping out of their sockets.

Just as the leaf sank into the blood, Glinda opened her eyes.

” Dip the arrows inside the bowl ” She instructed once again and Phoenix complied, not wanting to ask any questions. Glinda dipped her hands inside the blood and took out the bow inside and also the arrows. Immediately she did that, the bowl, the blood inside it, and the circle vanished.

Reaching out for an arrow quiver, Glinda placed the arrows inside it.

” Grab the quiver and come with me ” She said to Phoenix before leaving the room. Phoenix hurriedly grabbed the quiver and rushed out of the room.

They both headed back downstairs where Axion was still destroying things. Making sure to stand a desirable distance away from him,

” Give me an arrow “Phoenix’s eyes widened in horror when a realization drew to her.

” Aunt, are you trying to shoot Axion with these arrows? ” She asked.

” Yes ”

” Why?! ” Phoenix almost yelled.

” Because it’s the only thing that can stop him ” Glinda replied.

” But you’re going to hurt him, aunt, you’ll kill him ” Glinda turned to fully face Phoenix.

” Do you think… I’d kill my nephew? ” She asked.

” But aunt, Axion…

” Trust me Phoenix, I’m doing this for his sake ” Glinda assured. Not having an option, Phoenix nodded, taking out an arrow from the quiver and giving it to Glinda. Fixing the arrows in the bow,

” Hey, Axion! ” Glinda called out and Axion turned immediately. She let go of the bowstring and the arrow flew towards Axion, who only held it midair before breaking it into two.

” What are you doing? ” He glared at Glinda.

” I’m trying to save you, Axion ” Glinda answered.

Axion’s anger flared up and he let out a roar, emerging toward Glinda.

Glinda took an arrow from the quiver without waiting for Phoenix, whose whole body was shaking in fear, to give it to her. She aimed it and went straight through Axion’s chest, making him growl in pain, pulling the arrow out. Blood can be seen rolling down from his chest.

He kept emerging towards Glinda, who, this time around, aimed three arrows at him. And just when Axion was about to get to her, the three arrows went straight into his chest at the same time, coming out of his back. He froze on the spot immediately as his eyes widened in shock.

He slowly looked at the arrows in his chest and held them before looking up at Glinda who was trying hard to fight back her tears. Tears can be seen rolling down his beast’s face and he slumped to the floor, kneeling.

He slowly pulled out the arrows in his chest forcefully, blood flooding out uncontrollably. Phoenix couldn’t hold back her tears anymore. She rushed towards him and knelt before him.

” Axion ” She called, cupping his cheeks, making Axion stare deep into her eyes.

” You’ll be fine. Nothing will happen to you, OK? ” She assured, crying. Axion’s eyes can be seen going back to normal.

” I.. I’m… so… sorry ” He let out a last breath before slumping to the floor on one side.

” Axion!!!…
