Tenacious Sky

Chapter 10

Chapter 10

"Yo, Sky!" Someone called from behind me. I turned to see Easton jogging out of the building. He came Text © by N0ve/lDrama.Org.

and sat right next to me.

"Hey Easton," I said before I went back to resting my chin against my knees.

"What the hell is going on? You're Leo's manager now?" He asked. I released a heavy sigh.

"It just sort of happened that way," I muttered. I didn't feel like giving Easton a more detailed lie. I wasn't

that great at making stuff up on the spot.

"So what? You're just going to let him bully you like that?" He asked as he slung an arm over my

shoulders. I sat up and looked at him seriously.

"He's not bullying me," I answered honestly. Easton's arm was thrown off of me before I was pulled to

my feet by my wrist. The owner of the hand belonged to Leo. He didn't look angry or upset or anything

as his attention turned to Easton. His face was completely emotionless.

"Don't touch my kid," Leo said before turning his attention back to me.

"Let's go," he said before dragging me along behind him. After getting to the bottom of the stairs, he let

go of my wrist to stick his hands in his pockets.

"Easton's not a bad person, you know? He's actually really nice," I said coolly. Leo sighed as he shook

his head.

"If you plan on making it through the semester at least, you shouldn't let people touch you so freely.

Something could go wrong and you'll be caught easily. I don't mind being the bad guy," he explained.

"But you touch me all the time," I muttered. He stopped abruptly and turned on his heels to face me.

"That's because I know your secret. They don't... but they will if you keep this up," he replied. I didn't

think he actually heard me. He took a deep breath and relaxed slightly before he turned back around.

"Let's go. We still have time to get breakfast before class," he changed the subject. We walked along

the path to the main building.

"You seem very uptight all the time. I think that might be part of the problem. Maybe if you would just

relax sometimes-"

"Your job is to stop the attacks if they come, not to diagnose me," he cut me off. I settled for keeping my

mouth shut. I would just have to consider Leo a tightly wound screw I wouldn't be able to get out of the

wall.

We ate breakfast quickly before heading to our classroom. It seemed that almost everyone was already

in their seats.

"Leo, I see you've gathered a shadow," a soccer player, Ryker, approaches us as we sat in our seats.

Leo didn't say anything. Instead he got out a book and began reading.

"Ryker, leave him alone," someone warned him. He chuckled.

"What? Girly Sky has already latched himself firmly to the biggest loner on campus. Why can't I say

anything?" Ryker asked as he reached over to pinch my cheek. Leo slapped his hand away before he

could touch my face.

"Don't touch my kid," Leo warned. The room grew silent as if hearing Leo's voice for the first time. I

suddenly got the feeling that having Leo on my side would help me as much as harm me.
