The next day she goes to work as usual after Nail dropped her off at her office basement.

But hours later she couldn’t take it anymore and decided to snoop on her neighbor. She hated the fact that she was easily lied to by her supposedly geeky architect neighbor.

And that was why she was on her way back to her apartment on her lunch break. She knows Yegor was busy with his deal with the Kuznetsova.

The man had told her about his scheduled lunch meeting with them, then, later on, he was going to meet up with the rest of his cartel members then Nail would pick her up again after her office hour.

Darko would be busy that day, she knows she could easily get around Nail and she realized she had to do it fast before Yegor suspects anything about her devious act.

“What the….”

“Hey there neighbor,” he wrapped his arm around her body, and his other hand silenced her mouth when he grabbed her inside her apartment.

“I’ve been waiting for you,” the Albanian mob boss whispered in her ear.

He was pissed when he arrived back at his apartment and finds out that it had been trashed. He knows the Sokolov was behind it when Esad showed him the CCTV footage. His IT guy managed to piggyback on the Sokolov’s CCTV to see what they’ve been watching the whole time.

That was why he sneaked into her apartment and waited for her. From studying her he knows that the Agent is a wild card, he knows at some stage she had been informed by her lover about him. And somehow Ardian had a feeling that she would go back to her place and search for him.

“You! what did you do to Mrs. Lebedinsky?” she asked when he let his hand off of her mouth.

“Who?” he replied with another question while his hand search and took her guns expertly from her body straps. She groans when he even found the little knife on her calf strap.

“My neighbor! the sweet little lady who you stole her apartment from!”

He let out a deep laugh when he shook his head and put her guns and knife to the top of her kitchen cabinet, where she would need a stool to get to them.

“She was given lots of money, my guy set it up as if she won the lottery for a better apartment.”

“What are you going to do with me?”

“I haven’t thought about that, you intrigued me. At first, I wanted you just because you’re with the Sokolov boss and at the same time, you’re an agent. Tell me, it was it him who tipped you about my shipment?”

She smirked and let her expression answer his question.

“I thought so too.”

She was moving backward knowing she has another gun concealed under her console table. Karla was about to reach for her gun when he realized what she was doing.

“It’s not there anymore. It’s up on your kitchen cupboard, with the rest of your toys.”

“You searched my apartment?!”

“I was bored.” He shrugged and told her to take a seat.

“You know he’s going to realize that I was gone from the office, right?”

“I won’t be long, just asking what you know about him?”

“And why would you think I’m going to tell you?”

“Because I’m being nice to you? I even stole a cat for you.”

“You what?!” she looked at him in disbelief.

“She’s a stray, not chipped. I’ve given her a good home.”

“Where is she now?”

“She’s safe, look just tell me what he knows about me?”

“I’m not telling you anything.” She gets up thinking why should she tell the mob boss anything.

But he grabbed her and pulled her roughly to face him.

“I like you, I don’t like hurting women.”

She looked at him fearlessly, it was one of the quirks that he never knew he liked in a woman.

“Why would you think he lets me in on any of his business?”

“I think it’s impossible for you not to know anything about his operation while you’re staying at his place.”

“Well, don’t you think I’d keep those to myself for my own advantage? why do I want to share anything with you? do you have dirt on him?”

The Albanian mob boss laughed at her, he couldn’t believe that she was asking him instead and she was reversing the situation as if she was not in any way afraid of him.

“You’re really like to play with the bad boys, don’t you?”

She puts her hand to his well-defined chest and sighed exaggeratedly.

“Ardian, I hate to break this to you but I’ve been through the worst and I’m not afraid of anything anymore. You can kill me now and I will be at peace thinking that my fat Gus is in the comfort of his posh flooring and being fed by the personal chef of the Sokolov cartel boss.”

“Somehow I believe you, so since you’re not telling…” he started lowering his voice down and kissing the side of her neck.

“And… I can’t do this thing, I don’t juggle my bad boys. I’m not those kinds of women”

Karla whispered backing away from his sweet enticing kisses.

“Ditch him and be with me, we can exchange stories.”

She let out a small laugh and went to her fridge to reach out for bottled water thinking she needs to get her lips out of his reach.

She was about to reject him when her phone buzzed.

“That was fast.” She muttered.

“Okay, that’s my cue. Look, this is yours, it has my private line. Call me if you changed your mind.”

Ardian caressed her cheek and was out of her apartment in seconds, then she picked up his call and connected with her mob boss.

“Don’t tell me you to talk to him.” Her Russian man sounded annoyed from the other end.

“I talked to him.”

“Did you kiss him?”

“No, I did not.”

“Did he kiss you?”

“He did.” She smiled liking his jealousy already.

“Karla, when are you going to be a good girl and listen to what I said?”

She shook her head smiling while her hand was toying with the phone that Ardian just gave her. The fearless agent decided to hide it in one of her handbags in her closet, while she kept on talking to Yegor.

“I’m heading down, tell Nail to go to my apartment lobby. I have a meeting with my boss in less than half an hour.”

“One of these days you’re going to learn to be such a good girl and listen to what I said.”

“Yes, daddy.” She teased, making him groan from the other line.

“Kiska, I’m going to spank your ass pink tonight. Stop with the tease.”

She hangs up with her signature sexy laugh which only made him regret giving her more threats knowing she has been immune to all of his antics.

Minutes later she was on her way back to her office, Nail looked annoyed but didn’t say anything to her and she didn’t want to apologize as she didn’t want to get close to him. Karla didn’t want to feel bad for him should she want to go missing in the future.

And it was hours later when she finally

arrived at his residence all tired and stressed when she was greeted with a view of Yegor working on his tablet and Gus was resting his head on his lap. The two males made her relax instantly, but she pouted when Gus didn’t even move to greet her.

“Seriously?” you’re making him side with you now?”

Yegor was confused when he saw her, he still looked busy with his tablet as if he was in the middle of something important. She had tried to open his tablet but the password was annoyingly difficult and she gave up after what felt like her thousandth time.

“Hey, you’re back, what do you mean side?”

“My Gus?”

“Huh?”

“Argh, forget about it, I’m tired. I’m taking my bath.”

He felt something was off with her, though he was still mad about her little rendezvous with the Albanian, he knows she can take care of herself. He was mad because he knows that the Albanian mob boss would pursue her. And deep down he was worried that she might pick his competitor instead.

Yegor walked into the bathroom with two glasses of red wine, knowing she likes to enjoy them while she dips in her bath.

“Thank you,” she smiled at him and told him to join her, he didn’t waste any time and strip himself naked and takes a seat behind her.

“Hard day at work?”

“Yes, can you just hold me?” she put her glass down after taking a drink, she rests her naked body on his tattooed chest and sighed in content.

“I missed you.”

“I missed you too.”

That night he didn’t get to smack her ass, that night he lulled her in her sleep, holding her in his arms until he too falls asleep not long after her.
