Chapter 1767 As Long As I Can Stay Alive

"What... What do you mean? Protect myself?" Holley said awkwardly, her voice faltering.

"Aren't you pregnant? Isn't that a way for you to protect yourself?" Ferry said sarcastically.

Holley couldn't help but feel frightened. She didn't answer and just waited for Ferry to continue.

"Getting pregnant is a big deal. You have to look after yourself and make sure that the baby is safe. Do

you understand that?" Ferry's voice was dripping with sarcasm.

She looked at her cell phone in disbelief. She moved it away from her ear for a second then put it back

to confirm that all this was real. Holley took a deep breath.

How come Ferry knew that she was pregnant? And why was his tone so strange?

How could the cold-blooded and merciless Ferry say something like that?

If Ferry knew that she was only pretending to be pregnant, he would definitely expose her. Why did it

now seem like he was on her side?

It sounded a lot like Ferry knew she wasn't pregnant, and he was only playing with her, but why wasn't

he exposing her?

Holley didn't know what on earth had happened but just hoped that this wasn't one of Ferry's schemes.

Since Holley hadn't said anything for a while, Ferry continued, "Don't worry. I won't force you to marry

Jason anymore. Just relax, take care of yourself, and protect the baby."

Ferry's tone suddenly became soft—something Holley had never heard before.

She still couldn't make herself believe that Ferry was worried about her.

"Are you serious? I don't need to marry Jason anymore?" Holley asked hesitantly.

Ferry sneered upon hearing this. "Do you think I'll really joke with you like that? Or do you still want to

marry Jason?"

Holley didn't have the courage to retort to Ferry. Instead, she just nodded. "I didn't mean that. I just...

I..."

She hadn't expected that Ferry would call, so she didn't know what to say.

"You dated me for so long. Now that you're going to get your happy ending, I'm so happy for you," Ferry

said warmheartedly.

Only upon hearing this was Holley sure that Ferry was up to something. He had never spoken to her

like this, and she knew for a fact that he would never speak to her like this unless it was part of some

plan. That was the only possible explanation.

He was probably hiding under the guise of being mysterious as he planned to punish Holley.

As Holley thought of this, she trembled in fear, unable to control herself. Suddenly, she couldn't feel her

hands and felt as if she was losing her grip on her cell phone.

"I was wrong. I'll do whatever you want." Holley immediately apologized to Ferry. She knew that he'd

seen right through her. She just couldn't figure out why he wouldn't come out and say it. Still, she

hoped and prayed with all her might that Ferry would let her go.

Ferry drummed on the table with his fingers, disdain in his eyes. After a pause, he answered, "You

worry too much. Why would I hurt you? You're valuable now because the Hu Family will cherish you

and protect you."

However, she still couldn't shake off the feeling that Ferry was just saying this and in fact, knew the

truth. She only hoped that Ferry would let her go.

"I've already talked to Leila. She's going to get a hold of Shining Company's confidential files to get

them into trouble." Since Ferry wasn't saying anything, Holley decided that she would tell him her plan

in the hopes that it would save her life.

"Hmm. Let's see if it really turns out like that. Don't get me excited for nothing," Ferry said snapping,

and he then lowered his voice.

"Don't worry. I'll handle it this time. I won't let you down," Holley said quickly. She was afraid that Ferry

didn't believe her.

"Great," Ferry said sarcastically before hanging up the phone.

He didn't say anything about punishing Holley throughout the entire phone call, much to Holley's relief.

She tried to get her mind off it. She was happy as long as she got to stay alive.

After hanging up, Ferry stared at his phone as a sly smile appeared on his face.

Initially, he planned to make Holley suffer the same way he'd done before, but now it seemed as if he

could have even more fun.

Ferry knew that Holley wasn't just an ordinary woman because how else could she have made Black

fall in love with her like that? She was very smart to have figured out a way to protect herself, and he

was going to reward her for that.

As he thought of this, he sneered and lay back on his couch.

He lifted a hand to touch his jaw, an evil look on his face.

He was going to take advantage of Holley's relationship with the Hu Family. He had been looking for a

way to destroy them, and this was a good opportunity for him to get his business to dominate the

industry.

Ferry told one of his trusted followers about his plan. The man simply gave him a thumbs up and

smiled. "Boss, in that case, we won't have anything to worry about in the future."

"Do you think I'm scared of the Hu Family?" Ferry said unhappily.

The follower realized that he had said something wrong and shook his head, explaining to Ferry, "Boss,

I didn't mean it that way. I know the Hu Family can't rival you."

"Alright. Stop flattering me. Have you done what I told you to do?"

Ferry didn't like hearing such flattering, so he asked the man to stop.

"Boss, don't worry. I've already arranged everything. We're just waiting for your orders," the man said Original content from NôvelDrama.Org.

and smiled meaningfully.

Ferry nodded absently as if he was lost in his own thoughts. After a pause, he stood up. "Okay. Get

out. Wait for my go signal before doing anything."

As the man left, Ferry strolled over to the balcony.

Ferry smiled as he thought of everything that was going to happen next and mumbled to himself,

"Holley, it looks like you still have some use after all. I'm not missing this chance."

In Shining Company

Leila had just finished work, so she promptly checked the time. It was almost time to leave. She

hesitantly glanced at Charles' office, and then she slowly walked over. She took a deep breath before

gently knocking on his door.

Charles, who was in the office, raised his head slightly. "Come in."

"Mr. Lu, it's almost time. Let's go. Aunt Melissa is waiting for us at the hotel," Leila said as she entered

the office. When she spoke, she lowered her head.
