The Apple of My Eye

Chapter 1780 The Vital Point

Chapter 1780 The Vital Point

"Ms. Zhang, you are still a guest here at Dream Garden. Now that only you and I are left, if something

goes wrong, I'm afraid Mr. Lu will scold me for it," Nancy said casually. She looked calm as she dealt

with Leila.

"Nancy, I've told you this once before, and I'm going to say it again. You're just a servant here, and

soon enough, I'll be the mistress around here. If you know what's good for you, you're going to behave

and stay out of my way or else, who knows, what's going to happen to you when you grow old?"

After speaking, Leila carelessly slammed the door to her room shut.

Nancy was petrified. She didn't really like Leila, and Leila had gone too far this time. She wasn't even a

mistress yet, and she was already acting like this.

Who knew what she would be capable of if she was to become the mistress? Nancy didn't even want

to think about it.

Meanwhile, Leila had been preparing her stuff quickly. She was nervous that she didn't have time

anymore as David had kept her busy for too long. She was anxious to see Charles.

She wanted to board her flight as soon as Melissa called her. She just wanted Charles to see her as

soon as possible.

Upon thinking of this, Leila let out a soft chuckle.

Soon, she had finished packing. All she needed to do now was wait for Melissa's call.

Time passed by slowly as she waited for the call. She decided to call Holley while waiting. Now that

Leila had handled a project herself, if she could help Charles with another one when they came back,

she would impress him.

She called Holley as soon as she thought of this.

Holley was dealing with a lot these past few days, and she was constantly being watched by Rex's men

too. How could she not worry?

When her cell phone rang, she trembled instinctively because she was afraid that it might be Ferry

calling. He hadn't contacted her in a while, but she just refused to believe that he would let her go that

easily.

During their last conversation, Ferry had been praising Holley, and she couldn't believe that Ferry was

suddenly a nice guy because she was carrying Black's baby.

Her phone was still ringing. She took a deep breath and answered the phone, "What do you want?"

"Holley, are all pregnant women this hot-tempered?"

Leila was intimidated by the first words that Holley said. Why was she in a bad mood? That didn't make

any sense.

She figured that despite Holley carrying Black's baby, the Hu family still hadn't accepted her. Leila

laughed to herself upon thinking of this.

"Why are you laughing?"

Holley barked.

"I'm just happy for you. When are you going to get married? If you don't get married soon, and you start

showing, it's going to be embarrassing," Leila said sarcastically.

She just wanted to provoke Holley. She couldn't stand seeing Holley live a better life than she did. If

she could get on Holley's nerves with a few quips, she wasn't going to let the opportunity pass.

Holley was fuming. She couldn't believe someone like Leila would be talking to her like that. How dare

she?

Leila was a home-wrecker for God's sake. What right did she have to talk to her like that?

Holley was confused. 'What does Leila have that I don't? Does she really think she's better than me?'

"Leila, don't worry about me. Just mind your own business. Charles and Sheryl haven't even divorced

yet. Why are you in such a good mood?" Holley retorted as she rolled her eyes. She felt much better

being able to get back at Leila like that.

"Thanks for the concern, Holley, but you don't need to worry about me. I'm marrying Charles soon.

Don't you know I'm going to Malaysia with him today? Yeah, we're going to travel together."

Leila was still angry that Holley was pregnant, and she had rubbed it in her face. This was her way of

getting even with Holley.

As expected, Holley was disappointed to hear this. Even though it had nothing to do with her, she still

didn't like that Leila was going to get to travel with Charles. She remained silent for a while.

Leila relished in the silence. She called Holley for two reasons: the first being to annoy her, and the

second to remind her to make sure Shining Company didn't fall apart while she was gone. Belongs © to NôvelDrama.Org.

Since she'd already accomplished her first goal, she changed the topic and said, "Holley, I'm going to

Malaysia for about a week. You need to send someone to keep an eye on the company. If I lose my

power there, it won't help you either, so you have to take this seriously."

Upon hearing this, Holley rolled her eyes. Leila didn't even give her a chance to respond. But Holley

said sarcastically, "I thought you were going to marry Charles, the president of Shining Company. Why

do you need to worry about something as small as this?"

Leila pouted when she heard this. She hesitated for a while before letting out a laugh. "I just want to be

safe. Are you going to help me or not?"

"Of course, I'm going to help you because it's also going to benefit me," Holley said through gritted

teeth.

Leila nodded in satisfaction and continued, "All right, I'm going to Malaysia. Take care of yourself. I'll be

sure to bring something home from my trip for you."

Holley just snorted in response before hanging up the phone.

Leila was in a good mood despite being hung up on. After all, she was controlling Holley, and using her

for her own personal gain.

In a better mood, Leila had prepared everything and headed downstairs.

When Leila came down, Nancy was clipping some plants in the garden and looking at her from a

distance.

Leila lifted both her hands to her chest and put on a cold look. After a while, she decided to wander out

of the house and slowly approached Nancy.

Although Nancy was working, she could feel someone approaching her. She then turned to see who it

was. She was surprised to find that it was Leila. Nancy continued to work, ignoring Leila.
