Chapter 2008 Express My Feelings

Chapter 2008 Express My Feelings

"Okay, I see. I'll get ready." Since Melissa had solved the problem with Belinda, she felt a lot lighter

than before.

After quickly washing up, Melissa joined Charles for dinner.

"Charles, have you made things clear to Vicky?"

Melissa asked as casually as she could. Sheryl was no longer a problem for her, so she only had to

worry about Vicky. If Charles would clear things up with her, there would be a greater chance that he

and Sheryl could get back together.

The more she thought, the more nervous she became, so Melissa looked at Charles expectantly.

Charles' hand, which was about to take some food, froze in the air. He didn't raise his head, but he

frowned. He schooled his face after a moment. Then he looked up and responded, "Mother, I'll handle

my problems. You don't need to worry."

"Do you think I'm being annoying?"

Melissa kept staring at Charles, her face showing displeasure at his attitude. She thought her son was

reacting too slowly and was being unreasonable. 'Does he want to give up on Sheryl?'

"No, Mother. I just said that I'll handle it. Can you stop worrying?" Charles mirrored her expression and

looked at Melissa just as testily.

Controlling himself was hard. If Melissa wasn't his own mother, he would have lost his temper a long

time ago.

Melissa found Charles' expression a little surprising, and she rolled her eyes before forcing a smile.

"Charles, I didn't mean it like that. Don't be mad."

She didn't want to push Charles too far right now because he would get even angrier.

"I'm sorry, Mother. I'm not mad. I just don't want you to worry. Everything will be fine." Charles had no

idea what else to say to Melissa, so he had to soothe her for the moment.

What he had just said was enough, and it worked for Melissa, who felt comforted when she heard that. Content © NôvelDrama.Org 2024.

"Fine, fine. Since you say so, I won't ask anymore." Melissa smiled knowingly and gestured for Charles

to start eating.

The two stopped talking, and it was awkward at the table, but neither of them was willing to break the

ice.

After dinner, Charles made an excuse and went to his study on the second floor.

Melissa tried to say something but stopped herself. She watched him go upstairs and then sighed. "I

don't know when he'll make up with Sher."

"My Lady, relax. You can't be too anxious. Just let it be." Nancy was cleaning up the dinner table and

heard Melissa's words, so she comforted her.

"Hmm, I hope so," Melissa absently answered and listlessly went to her bedroom.

Charles tossed and turned the whole night, his thoughts filled with Sheryl.

Although Sheryl had no special relationship with Jackson, Charles had to admit that Melissa's worry

was not unfounded. If he didn't clear things up with Vicky, the woman he loved might already have left

with another man.

The next day

Charles was still drowsy, and when he went downstairs, Melissa and Nancy were making breakfast.

"Mother, what are you doing?" Charles had rarely ever seen Melissa make breakfast. Seeing that she

was so attentive today, he was touched.

"I'm making sandwiches, your favorite. I know you like to eat it, so I wanted to make some for you."

Melissa looked up from what she was doing and smiled at Charles, who was watching them from the

stairs.

Charles smiled and quickly walked to Melissa. He glanced at the food she was making and nodded in

approval. "Hmm, nice."

If only the matter with Vicky could be ignored, Dream Garden would be full of laughter.

But the laughter of just two people was not enough because they just missed Sheryl and the two kids

more during times like this.

After they finished eating breakfast, Charles went to work, and Melissa was left with nothing to do in

Dream Garden.

"My Lady, if you're tired, please go upstairs to rest," Nancy said as she saw Melissa pacing around the

living room.

"I'm not tired. I'm just worried. A lot happened recently. Remember to keep in touch with Joan and

check if Sher needs any help. Understand?" Melissa couldn't stop being concerned about Sheryl, so

she told Nancy to keep an eye on them.

"My Lady, don't worry. Joan is dutifully taking care of Sher and the kids. No need to worry about it. If

something's wrong, she'll tell me," Nancy promised Melissa, trying to reassure the anxious woman.

"Hmm, alright. I'm going to play cards with my friends. Call me if something happens." After saying that,

Melissa walked out.

Isla barely managed to drag her tired body along as she walked into Sheryl's office, visibly in low

spirits.

"Sher, help me...I'm exhausted. That jerk, Aron, definitely did it on purpose. He and the kid are abroad

in a different time zone, yet he often calls me despite knowing it's midnight here. Why do you think he's

doing that?" Isla drooped in her seat across from Sheryl, her face buried in her hands.

Putting down the pen in her hand, Sheryl glanced at Isla, who looked exhausted. She couldn't help but

laugh. "You deserve it. You always bully Aron, so this is just the result. Just bear with it because he'll be

back in two days anyway."

Sheryl had planned to comfort Isla, but when she started speaking, she couldn't help but tease her

friend.

"I thought you're my bestie, Sheryl, but now you're on Aron's side!" Isla huffed and glared at Sheryl,

and she even slammed her palms on the office table to complete her act.

Seeing Isla pound on the table with both hands like a child, Sheryl couldn't help but shake her head

and laugh. "Don't! You'll scare me. If you can, do it in front of Aron."

"You're awesome. Sheryl, you've learned how to ruin our relationship, huh?" Isla pouted even more and

scowled at Sheryl.

"Oh, so now you're scared? You said you'd beat Aron to death, but he's the only one in your heart. You

just said that. You complain about him in front of me, but you only want to show off your deep love for

each other, right?" Sheryl exposed Isla's intention immediately.

"Ah, don't make fun of me! I just think he's so needy recently. Even when he stays abroad, he still calls

me several times every day. I don't know if he's worried about me or if he's afraid that I'll be worried

about him." Isla couldn't help but complain more.

"Be content. In fact, not many people can stay with the ones they love. You're very lucky." Sheryl let out

a sigh filled with emotion.

Isla nodded, and she knew what Sheryl meant, but she didn't know how to comfort Sheryl.

"Hey, why do you look like that? Do you think I don't understand you? I'm fine, and I'm not talking about

myself. I just said what I feel." Sheryl saw Isla's face suddenly turn cold and easily guessed what was

on her mind.
