Thalia’s Pov

The doctor led me to a little white room with a white bed in the center and a lot of medical equipment

lying on the tables. My heart began beating fast, Not because I was terrified, but because the day had

finally arrived.

It was time to stop talking and start doing. I took a seat on the bed and slowly lay down. The door

swung open, and the doctor entered, fully equipped. I was inseminated in a matter of seconds. I felt as

if I were committing a federal crime with no remorse.

I wasn’t a coward, after all; I’d always had boldness inside me, but I was waiting for someone to kindle

that fire that lay dormant in water, with little possibility of ever igniting.

Brandon was the person who ignited that soggy wood and lifted me out of that hellish trap in a matter of

days.

I discovered that no amount of kindness or money could ever be sufficient. Survival of the fittest was

the rule, and the powerful always tr*mpled on the weak in order to acquire what they wanted.

I was always the weak one, and my father was weak as a result of his generosity, and we both suffered

the price. It was time to break the terrible chain and become the strong one.

Yes, I still considered my life tragic; perhaps one day it will turn into a wonderful story, but I didn’t care;

a wrecked life for a ruined life was all that mattered to me.

That was my new life motto; my baby was going to come along and comprehend the decisions I was

making; perhaps one day, he or she would be proud of me and appreciate the choices I just made.

In a nutshell, the doctor explained everything to me, including what to expect and what not to expect.

And what was expected of me throughout the whole procedure?

He wished me luck and expressed his hope that I was doing the right thing, as my situation was the

first he had ever seen. I smiled and thanked him for everything; he looked exhausted and in desperate

need of rest; the man had put his ethics and job on the line for me and my pointless vengeance.

I had no idea why he was on Brandon’s payroll, but I assumed he had been cheated by life as well. It

was the only thing that could make a guy go to any length and risk losing his dignity.

As I sat on the bed, processing what I had just done, he walked out of the room with his head down. I

wanted some alone time; it had been almost a week since I had been alone in a room.

It was strange because I’d grown accustomed to Brandon lying on my lap or my chest or next to me

which I knew he loved. My very first best friend. We called each other suicide mates.

Fate brought us together, and I could only dream we’d be together for more than a month. There was a

reason, bigger than my request for revenge that we were brought together.

I knew it deep down, but I didn’t want to give myself false hope; instead, I needed to prepare myself for

the possibility that he was simply an angel sent to me before he died.

I grumbled and got out of the bed, knowing that the Jerk on the other side of the door was undoubtedly

waiting for me.

I didn’t want him to come in while I was still dressed in a hospital gown. I quickly changed into my pink

beautiful dress and exited the room, heading for the waiting area.

Nestor and Brandon were sat on opposite ends of the bench, like some rivals. They both stood up and

walked up to me as soon as they noticed me.

“Are you all right? Did everything go according to plan?” Brandon was the first to inquire.

“Yes, all we can do now is wait and hope,” I said.

They both remained silent, and when I turned to look at Nestor, he averted his gaze awkwardly.

It wasn’t like when I went into the doctor’s office and he looked at me with judge-like eyes. I averted my

gaze and pretended not to notice him; he was acting as if he had known me for years and that I owed

him an explanation for every decision I was making in my life.

“Are you able to walk around? Did the procedure make you feel uncomfortable?” Brandon initiated the

conversation. On the other side, he was acting like a good spouse. I thought to myself, “Two odd

opposite men.”

I said, “Of course, I can roam about aimlessly; I didn’t go in there to give birth,” I joked.

He looked doubtful at me, as if he expected me to leave the doctor’s office devastated and second-

guessing myself, but that was not the case. I was a changed person, I was on fire and I was ready for

the second phase of the revenge.

I took his hand in mine and extended my other hand out to Nestor. My two new best pals, both of whom

were really attractive, and better than idiot Josh. If only I had met them earlier. “Let’s go have some fun,

shall we?”I proposed.

“Are you not supposed to be lying down in order for the sperm to travel?” he inquired. Nestor and I

exchanged surprised looks before giggling hysterically. We were both laughing so hard, I believe we

needed it in order to lessen up and release the weight.

“Yeah, Yeah, yeah,” Brandon scratched his head as he responded.

“I believe you’ve lost a few neurons in your head as well,” I made a snide remark at his expense.

“He’s the latest with no brains ” Nestor added and received a serious look from Brandon. I stepped in

front of them and signaled for them to move. I was in the mood for a party.

“Do you have a secluded location where we can host our celebration?” I inquired.

“If you mean the two of us, yes,” he said, “but for three, I don’t have.”

He was a jerk, but before I could complain on Nestor’s behalf, Nestor excused himself and just offered

to fly us to our destination.

Something wasn’t quite right about him; he kept avoiding eye contact with me. I could only assume

Brandon might have said something to him. We trailed behind him as he led the way. I was quite

interested in what they discussed, but I decided to postpone it until tomorrow.

In an hour, Nestor took us to an apartment complex with a fancy mini bar, a swimming pool, a braai

area, and a lovely fountain on top. But it was deserted with no sign of any people. In a frenzy, I looked

up at Brandon and asked if it was his property. He nodded and extended his arm, which I eagerly

accepted.

I looked around to see Nestor had already left without saying goodbye. He was always hanging around

to bother Brandon, but he seemed different tonight

“Is there’s a problem?” Brandon enquired.

“No… not at all, so what’s the best plan for the evening?” I enquired.

He said, grinning, “my Suicide bestie, we have this building to ourselves, we can do whatever we

want.” My mind wandered to sex, and I began stammering.

I’m not sure why, but it might have something to do with the fact that I had just fertilized my eggs.

Brandon smiled as if he had read my mind.

“Stop being a naughty child,” he stated as he drew me closer to him by my waist. “When was the last

time you danced, and how long has it been? “he inquired.

When I couldn’t remember, my expression grew sour, but then I remembered that it was on my

wedding day, with my father.

On the day of our wedding, Josh just danced with me for a few seconds. It never troubled me, nor did I

see anything wrong with it, because he was a busy guy that night, making sure all of our guests were Property belongs to Nôvel(D)r/ama.Org.

happy not knowing it was my first clue and he was avoiding me.

But my father compensated for his absence by dancing with me all night. As a result, I never regarded

my wedding to be a dreadful day.

Brandon noticed my shift in mood and spoke up; “I hadn’t danced in two years,” he claimed. “Thalia

would honor me by giving me my last dance and putting on a soft 90s tune.

“Of course,” I said with a smile, “but be certain that this is not your final dance,” I added as I placed my

head on his chest with our hands clasped. We danced like there was no tomorrow to the beat of the

music.

I had difficulties with my steps at first and stepped on him a couple of times, but after the jam was

repeated, I found my groove. Brandon was a great teacher with a lot of patience. It was surprising that

he could dance so well even though it had been more than two years since he had danced.

I laid my head on his chest as if there was no tomorrow, completely forgetting about the agony that was

my life or the sperm that I had just used to impregnate myself. I was completely engrossed in his chest

and wished for him to live another month.

I prayed to G*d that he would extend the great Jerk’s life by two or nine months so that he might see

little Brandon. It was amusing because I did not recall ever praying while Josh mistreated me or during

our divorce processes.

I’ve always believed that if there was a Go*, he abandoned me the day he just stood there and watched

me fall into Josh’s trap

“Your hair smells so good, unlike the f*rst time I met you,” Josh said first, jolting me out of my reverie,

and eliciting a chuckle from me.

“And your arrogance has greatly diminished since the day I meant you, “I responded.

He laughed and answered, “I was not arrogant, you offended me with your ugly sweater and you

invaded my space,”
