Chapter 70
Chapter 70
70. We Have to Give Her the Title She Deserves
After dinner, Jouvita went to the suburbs first. The two children saw her leave and also wanted to play in the fruit garden on the outskirts of their grandparents.
Jessie took her phone and prepared to bring them there.
Alex stood at the entrance of the courtyard and took a cigarette with one hand. “It is late. We will bring them there tomorrow.”
With Jessie protecting her, Fia became more daring. As soon as Alex finished speaking, she immediately shouted, “I want to go. Mommy will take us there!”
Alex’s handsome face sank, “If you say one more word, then get your ass back to R City tomorrow!”
Fia pouted her small mouth and did not dare to make a sound.
Jessie stared at Alex.
The man’s long fingers inadvertently pinched her earlobe and his voice was low and magnetic. “Don’t let them do whatever they want!”
Jessie waved his hand away and brought the two children upstairs. “Let’s go take a shower and tell the story after the shower.”
After entering the room, Alex followed her in and sat down on the sofa. He folded his long legs leisurely and looked at the email on his phone.
Felix and Fia stared at him for a long time. Seeing that he was still not leaving, the two children could not hold it in anymore. Fia pulled Felix’s sleeve.
Felix looked like he was thinking for him. “Dad, you can take a shower and sleep now.”
Alex raised his head and looked at him coldly. Felix raised his little finger and pointed at the floor. “Your room is downstairs.” “Go take a shower!”

Felix shrugged at Fia and took the pajamas that Jessie handed over into the bathroom.

Jessie finished washing the two of them and she also took a shower. When she came out, she saw that Alex still had his long legs folded. He sat on the sofa with one hand in a pocket and used one hand to flip a document in his phone.
She took a book and prepared to go to bed. After hesitating for a while, she looked at him. “Go downstairs and look at the documents. We will be a little noisy.”
Alex pressed the screen of his phone and reached out to her. “Bring the book over for me to
see.”
“A book that children love to read. You want to read it too?” Jessie smiled and gave the book t o him.
“Harry Potter?” Alex looked at the cover and flipped to the inner page.
“This book also filmed a movie.” Jessie excitedly explained to him. When she saw him close the book, she bent over to get it.
Alex handed the book to her but did not let go.
Jessie’s eyebrows slightly knitted and she could not help but pull the book hard.
He pulled hard and Jessie was pulled a few steps forward by him. Then she heard the man’s deep voice, “I will wait for you downstairs.”
Before Jessie could recover, he suddenly let go.
Jessie was not prepared and fell back. He held her waist.
Alex helped her up. His slender fingers squeezed her soft palm. He looked at the two children on the bed who were staring at them without moving. “Don’t bother your mother for too long. All of you go to sleep early!”
The two children nodded obediently. “Okay, Dad.”
Jessie wanted to pull her hand out but he clenched it again and whispered as he brushed past her, “Speed up!”
He held his phone and left.
Jessie felt that his hand that was holding her was extremely hot, from her face all the way to her neck.
Seeing the door close, Fia patted her small chest. “He finally left! Mommy, tell a story!”
Jessie smiled and took the book to bed.
The two little ones immediately went to her side and started to listen to the story in the book.
Alex had processed the documents in the computer downstairs. After taking a shower, he still did not see Jessie coming downstairs. His phone rang. He found that it was Grandma Restall calling. She kept complaining. “The child went to school well. Why did you suddenly bring them to a vacation? It’s the Mid Autumn Festival in two days. When are you going to bring them back?”
“A few more days later.”
“Are you saying that the kid won’t back in the Mid-Autumn Festival?” Grandma Restall raised her voice. Then Grandpa Rudolf’s loud voice sounded beside her, “Don’t count on him. When did he take things at home seriously? Ask him directly, where are my good grandsons now? You need to know the exact location. We’ll go and pick them up during the Mid-Autumn
Festival!”
Alex sat down on the sofa and pressed the computer screen. “They’re not here. You guys can have a quiet festival.”
“Why do I need him to teach me how to celebrate the festival?” Grandpa Rudolf shouted even louder. Grandma Restall ran to the side to put on an act. “Alex, we are old. We don’t have much time to enjoy the pleasures of heaven. We clearly have grandchildren. We don’t need peace. You should bring them back quickly.”
“I will try to come back as soon as possible.”
Hearing her son’s unchanging tone, Grandma Restall’s anger also came. “You want me to check your flight information, right?”
“Don’t waste your energy. You won’t be able to find it even if you do.” He knew they would be like this. Alex asked the two little fellows to turn off the Phone Watch. He didn’t even use his private plane when he came here. They had booked a plane ticket to the Hai City, then went t o the branch office to bring a car to the Nanchuan. The two old men couldn’t find their exact location even if they wanted to.
“It’s late. You two should rest early!” Without waiting for Grandma Restall to get angry, Alex hung up the phone.
Grandma Restall was so angry that she wanted to vomit blood.
She threw her phone on the table and sat on the sofa. She repeatedly sighed. She thought that she had a son and a daughter. Her elder daughter was disobedient and insisted on marrying a n unreliable and impoverished artist who was in a second marriage. She didn’t listen to her advice and ran away from home one night, leaving no news for several years. When the Laurent family finally found out where she was, what they got was a terrible news. Her daughter had passed away.
She had risked her life to give birth to a son when she was in her forties. Although Alex marriage was a happy one, his wife had passed away when she gave birth. Now, his son did not ‘filial’, did not go on blind dates, and did not remarry. Now, he had actually brought his two obedient grandsons, who should have gone to school, to somewhere unknown.
Grandpa Rudolf heard her long-winded talk and his mood became heavy. He took out his phone and dialed Rick’s number, asking him where Alex was. Rick was honest and told him that they were in Hai City. As for their exact location, he did not know. The Boss did not tell him.
Although Hai City wasn’t as prosperous as R City, it still had several cities and towns. If Alex didn’t want them to know where he was, where could the two of them find him? If they went t o investigate one place at a time, when would they be able to find them?
“Wait, Hai City?” Grandma Restall stopped sighing and looked at her husband with wide eyes, “Last time, did Rick say that the two children liked Aunt Jeje? She seems to be from Hai City,
right?”
Grandpa Rudolf still had a sullen face. “When did Rick say that?”
“I heard him mention it. You can call him and ask him. If that’s the case, ask Alex to bring the girl back. He has already moved into the female residence. We have to give her the title she deserves!” Grandma Restall said and became excited again. The sadness and depression from before had been swept away in an instant.
Grandpa Rudolf took the phone and looked at the time. It was late. He thought for a while and said, “If that’s really the case, let’s wait. Alex did not take the initiative to mention it when he first got married. It is rare that there is someone he likes. His character will not treat the female side unfairly. He will bring her back sooner or later.”
“Is that so? You also think he’s serious? I knew it. We’re not heartless people. How could we have a heartless son? If that’s the case, I’m relieved.” Grandma Restall heaved a sigh of relief and started to look forward to the day when her future daughter-in-law came to visit her.
Alex hung up the phone and waited for a while. Finally, he heard a sound coming from the stairs.
He stood up and went to the mirror to open the front of his robe, revealing his strong chest muscles. He then went to open the door.
He waited by the door for nearly a minute, but no one came. He frowned and walked out.
The light was still on at the stairs. A yellow cat was squatting by the stairs. It heard the noise and turned its face to look at him.
The man and the cat were silent for a long time. Alex put on his robe and strode over. The yellow cat was so scared that it ran away. He strode upstairs.
Outside, he heard Jessie’s soft and innocent voice. She was following the story in the book and mimicking all kinds of vivid conversations.
The door was pushed open and everyone in the room was shocked. They all stared at the door in unison.
Alex’s handsome face darkened. “What time is it? All of you, go to sleep!” Copyright Nôv/el/Dra/ma.Org.
Jessie took the phone and looked at the time. It was only eight o’clock.
“It’s only 8:00 PM. Usually, we only sleep at 9:30 PM.” Felix and Fia also saw the time. Fia stared with her big round eyes and pouted her small mouth as she whispered.
Jessie wanted to say that it was still early.
Alex’s cold voice fell again, “You guys are too noisy. I will catch the plane tomorrow morning.”
“Are we very noisy?” Jessie could not believe it.
She had lived here for many years. Sometimes Jouvita would stay in her room and she would
call her mother upstairs. Jouvita could not even hear her. She had to run to the staircase to call her. How can Alex could even hear the sound of them telling stories in their room?
Seeing his serious expression, she thought that it was because his hearing was too sensitive and did not doubt anymore. She rubbed the two soft little heads beside her. Softly: “Your father is going to catch a plane tomorrow morning. Let’s not disturb him. Let’s sleep early too.
Although Felix and Fia were unwilling, hearing what she said, they nodded sensibly and pulled up the blanket to lie down.
Jessie turned off the light and only left behind a warm yellow wall lamp before lying down with them under the blanket. She turned her head and saw that the man was still standing there. A huge shadow was cast on the floor of the room.
She suddenly understood. It was not that she was too noisy, but…
He had been waiting for her downstairs…
She met his dark and gloomy eyes and inexplicably felt that her throat was dry and there wasn’t even a trace of sleepiness left
