“Hey Cassie, you must listen to me,” Ace ran to meet me at the door.

“Don’t touch me,” I screamed at him as the tears I had been trying to hold flew freely from my eyes, dropping to my face and messing up the makeover I had gone to get from Karen.

Ace stood there looking so confused, I couldn’t believe he could do this to me. We have been together for months now and I never thought he could have the mind to keep the Truth away from me. I cried even harder. I heard the footsteps of someone coming, from the sound of the heels, one could tell that it was a lady that was approaching. I looked up to see Serena moving closer to where Ace and I were standing, clutching a glass of wine in one hand and her expensive Dolce and gabbana purse in the other hand with a mischievous smile on her face.

Ace became tense the moment he saw Serena coming closer, I tried to hide the tears that were coming out from my eyes.

“Hey, Ace. What are you doing here? You should be at the party. I guess this is your maid. I’m Serena.” She said mockingly. I could see, she wanted me to feel very bad.

I looked at her and ignored her. I was hoping that Ace would say something to her or tell her that we are both together, but no, he didn’t say anything, he stood there quietly looking at me.

“Ace, let’s go back to the party,” Serena said quietly while taking Ace asking her back into the sitting room.

Ace followed her quietly. I broke down and cried more. I was filled with rage and uncontrollable anger, how could everyone do this to me? I have the feeling of going back into the sitting room for the party, my dress was almost ruined with the tears from my eyes and I have seriously lost interest in the party and trust in anyone. I just wanted to be left alone so that I could cry my heart out. Ace’s parents had already made arrangements for Ace and Serena to be married and I couldn’t do anything about it, but I was expecting Ace to defend his love for me, yet he stood there mute and accepted all the arrangements that his family and Serena’s family had.

“Hey you bitch,” I heard a familiar voice and looked up to see Serena standing there. This time, she didn’t have that smile on her face, she rather had a face full of anger and resentment.

“I’m just here to warn you to keep off from Ace, you are nothing but an ordinary maid, do you better don’t come close to him. I can see that you have feelings for him, but sorry to disappoint your sorry ass, Ace is mine and you can never come close. So here is me giving you a piece of warning to stay clear, else you will regret it for the rest of your life,” she turned swiftly and left.

The anger in me increased more, could I be insulted in this way just because I have decided to fall in love with Ace, just because he refused to defend me. I cried more and left to go to the room to get things that were still left in the mansion and leave as fast as my legs can carry me.

I can’t stand the deceit, anger and mockery anymore, I needed to l leave so that I can take my time to think deeply and know what to do next, the betrayal was much for me to bear, I didn’t even know whom to blame, and who to trust , but I have made up my mind to make sure that I pay Ace and Serena back in their own coin. I was already enraged and all I could think of was how I would take revenge on them, but deep down in my mind I could tell that Serena also came prepared since she had already come to give me a warning to stay away from Ace.

I got to the sitting room and everyone was still dancing, they all seemed so happy. I looked in the far end of the big sitting and I saw Ace and Serena in each other’s arms dancing romantically. Serena’s eyes caught my gaze and immediately she looked at me, she started to kiss Ace, I couldn’t take it anymore.

“Hey, what are you doing? Did you think you could have Ace, of course not, he only had time with you because of the bet we had with him do you should get that into your head, he just wanted to add you to the list of the girls he has laid and he told us that you got a very sweet pussy,” One of Ace’s friends came to tease me. They are the cause of the problems yet they wouldn’t even allow me to be, I know that each time those guys saw Ace and I together, they started to laugh. I knew that they were up to no good. I chose to ignore my instincts because I thought that Ace was genuinely in love with me.

I left the room and stormed to go to my room to pack a few of my things left in my room. I would leave the mansion and prepare to take my revenge on them. I have been working so hard and being a very girl to them, I don’t deserve to be treated this way, but then Ace’s mum wasn’t even aware of our relationship, but what if she was aware, would she let her son marry someone like me, a mere maid.

“Cassie, you must listen to me please,” I heard Ace’s voice as he touched my hand. I was just carried away in my thoughts that I couldn’t even tell when he got to the room or how long he had been standing there.

“Ace, let go of me at once. You played with my emotions, you had a bet with your friends, you claimed that you loved me and you allowed me to fall in love with you. You are so wicked,” I said, sobbing..

“I’m sorry Cassie, at first it all started like a mere bet, but along the line, I became genuinely in love with you, I couldn’t help myself, I didn’t even know that mum and already had an agreement with Serena’s parents that we will be married. I just wished I could do anything to change it all.” Ace said sadly..

“Yes, you can still do something, just tell your parents that you aren’t getting married to Serena, tell them that you do not want Serena, tell them it’s me that you want to be with,” I said, looking into Ace’s eyes.
