“What the hell happened to you? You are bleeding. Where did you go to? I’ve been so worried.” Nick says as soon as I am inside the house. I collapse on the couch in the living room, knowing I have lost a lot of blood but I don’t want to go to the hospital since I know it’s Victoria who is behind this and I really have to tell Nick about it.

“Nick, it’s fine.” I say and smile at him.

“It’s not fine Cassy, you are bleeding and you look so faint.” He says.

“I’ll go to the hospital, I promise, but first, I really have something to tell you. I need to tell you.” I say, looking into his eyes with regret in my eyes.

“What is it? Don’t tell me you are going to say lady night was a mistake and that you don’t love me all over again because for me last night was the best thing.” He says and I pull him down to my level, kissing his lips to shut him up.

“Last night wasn’t a mistake, it will never be a mistake and I still love you, I promise.” I say, and a smile forms on his lips. He grabs the first aid kit, and then treats the arm before bandaging it up.

“What do you have to tell me? And how the hell did you get stabbed? Also, hurry up with whatever it is because we need to get you to the hospital.”

“I know what I want to say now will make me seem like the worst person in the world but I promise Nick, I love you.” I say and he nods unsurely. I take a deep breath before narrating everything to him.NôvelDrama.Org owns © this.

Minutes later, Nick is still silent after I have told him everything from meeting victoria, to meeting him, to how I fell in love with him and most importantly, who I really am.

“Nick, I swear I love you.” I say “I didn’t plan for it to be this way and I honestly couldn’t have killed you even if I didn’t love you. I’m sorry, please forgive me.” I cry, pleading with him.

“Can we go to the hospital now?” He asks, making me confused. “It’s fine cassy, I understand you and I am not mad at you.” He says calmly… too calmly. I expected him to yell and curse but here he is saying he understands her.

“How can you say you understand me Nick? You should be mad at me… I accepted an offer to kill you and lied to you.” I say angrily. What is up with this dude?

“Yes I know that and I also know that you weren’t exactly in the position to rethink it so I don’t blame you.” He says.

“Are you hearing yourself? I was sent to fucking kill you and you are being understanding.” I yell and stand up weakly.

“What should I do? You want me to blame you? Fine, I blame you but I still love you.” He says and then walks over to me. I look at him with tears in my eyes trying to understand how I got someone as sweet as him.

“I am not mad at you and I will never be mad at you, I love you too much Cassy.” He says before pulling me in for a passionate kiss.

“I love you too.” I say in tears as soon as the kiss ends.

“Look I am going to take care of you and everything that has happened so just calm down and just don’t leave me, and I’ll make Victoria pay for hurting you.” He says and I smile before hugging him tight.

“If you had to choose between death and I, who would you choose? He asks suddenly.

“Of course I would choose you Nick, over and over again.” I say and peck his cheeks. “But why did you ask me that?”

“Nothing, I just thought about it.” He shrugs and then pick up his car keys, “Come on. We’re going to the hospital.” My phone rings and I just know it’s Victoria. I stare at Nick and he tells me to pick up the call and put it on speaker, which I do.

“Did you enjoy the gift I sent to you?” She laughs.

“You sent those men to kidnap me, didn’t you, Victoria?”

“Don’t act so shocked when you already knew it was I who sent them, although I’m pretty annoyed you escaped.”

“You failed and you will keep failing.”

“You must have told Nicholas by now, but just know he cannot do a thing to stop me from killing you both.”

“One more thing, I will kill your brother if you try to leave town, and I’ll definitely send you a picture. Tell Nicholas ‘Hi’ for me.” She cackles and the line goes dead.

I look at Nick with tears streaming down my eyes, “I’m sorry I didn’t tell you this earlier, Nick.” He smiles at me, and taps on his phone, which starts to play the conversation between Victoria.

My eyes widen in shock and happiness as I fling myself at me, hugging him tight, despite my wounded arm. “You… you are a genius.”

“I know.” He chuckles, “Now, let’s get you to the hospital.”

After leaving the hospital, we go directly to the police headquarters, and I tell them everything. Nick also gives them the recording of Victoria and I’s conversation as evidence and an arrest warrant for Victoria was issued, after which we leave for our house.

“I’m so glad this is over.” I say happily as Nick and I enter the house.

He lifts me up, making me scream, “And I know just how we’re going to celebrate it.” He says, carrying me to the room. Just as he drops me on the bed, his phone rings and he picks it up. After a while, he faces with a grim look on his face.

“Victoria’s bodyguard and her other men who are involved in her dirty activities were kidnapped but she’s nowhere to be found. They’ve also discovered you’re not the first person she’s used to do her dirty works and I’m not her first target.” He says, laying next to me in bed.

I feel fear grip my heart. Victoria is on the loose. “Nick-” I start to say but he cuts me off with a kiss.

“It’s okay. She’ll never hurt us and I’ll always be here for you.” He says, and I feel relief wash over me and he climbs above me, buttoning down my shirt, “Let’s celebrate.”

“I love you.”

“I love you more.” He says, and presses his lips on mine.
