Chapter 532
Chapter 532
Leah gave a nod. Her lips were curling into a smile. She quickly asked Margo to prepare her clothes. “Indeed, you’ve had a long day because of Penelope. Don’t you have an important meeting tomorrow? I should go instead.”
Christopher was indeed tired. He nodded and cautioned Leah, “Just be polite. After all, we’re the ones asking for a favor.”
Leah simply said, “I know. Don’t worry.”
After Christopher went upstairs, Leah changed and prepared to leave. She wouldn’t allow him to go see Allison. Perhaps he just wanted to see Grace. She wouldn’t let him meet that woman!
Penelope stood up, worried. “Mom, what if Allison refuses?”
Leah patted her daughter’s hand. “She won’t. Don’t worry. I’ll handle it. What you need to do now is to take care of yourself. Call Lucian, and ask him to come and keep you company. It’s been a while since you’ve contacted him, right?” Content © copyrighted by NôvelDrama.Org.
From Penelope’s expression, Leah could guess what she was thinking. “Don’t think that saving Miranda solves everything. What you need to do now is to get in touch with Lucian more, try to recuperate and try to conceive his child again. Only then can you rest easy.”
“But Mom, he… I want to, but you know, Lucian has been quite cold to me recently. I don’t know what to do.”
“Penelope, my dear. You don’t understand men’s hearts.”
Leah whispered something into her daughter’s ear, causing Penelope to blush. “Will that work?”
“Why wouldn’t it? You’re his fiancée. Anything goes. You have to seize the opportunity.”
Penelope blushed even more. “I understood, Mom.”
In the morning, at Epic Entertainment.
Allison had come here to sign some papers. After she was done, she ran into Nicki, who greeted her. “Allison, I like your hoodie. This brand’s clothes are my favorite.”
Allison knew that Nicki was just looking for something to talk about. Her hoodie was from a small brand, costing just a couple of hundred dollars.
Nicki had initiated the conversation, so Allison suggested, “Nicki, there’s a café upstairs. Would you like to sit for a while?”
“Sure.”
They headed to the café on the top floor.
The café was semi-open, making it relatively safe from paparazzi and stalkers. Many of Epic Entertainment’s artists would hang out here. It was a great place to chat and discuss business.
From here, the grand viewing balcony offered a panoramic view of Brookhaven, Northfield. The morning traffic was bustling, with cars. zipping across several overpasses. The entire landscape lay before them.
“I heard you signed Wade’s movie. Congratulations.”
The phrase ‘I heard’ was quite casual, but at this moment, it felt as if it was set in stone.
Allison smiled. “Thank you.” She didn’t pretend not to know or try to deny the news. Instead, she accepted the congratulations graciously, which left Nicki at a loss for words.
This was a reaction Nicki hadn’t anticipated. She decided to be direct. “Allison, we’re both artists at Epic Entertainment. We’ll have plenty of opportunities to meet and collaborate in the future. I’d like to be friends with you. Let’s keep in touch. If you ever need anything, just let me know.”
In the entertainment industry, it’s always better to make a friend than to offend someone.
