The Billionaire’s Maid Bride

Chapter 7

Chapter 7

“Ahh- Kamilla suddenly let out a yelp.

Allison bit her lip, desperately trying to steady the soup bowl. Most of the hot soup splashed onto her own wrist.

She couldn’t help but gasp.

Margo immediately jumped in, yelling at Allison, “Allison! What good are you? What if you burned Miss Kamilla? Can you afford that?!”

Then, Kamilla said, “I’m okay.”

She wasn’t burned much, just a bit of soup on her clothes Her scream was more of a reflex. Meanwhile, Allison’s injury was obviously more severe, her hand was already turning red.

Seeing that Kamilla wasn’t angry, Margo seized the opportunity and said, “Miss, you might not know, but this maid often slacks off and messes things up! Last time she nearly burned Mr. Lindberg!”

“What?” Penelope exclaimed in surprise. Allison actually appeared in front of Lucian behind her back?!

Then, she slapped Allison across the face and scolded, “Allison, we kept you here out of pity, and you repay us like this! If you really hurt Lucian and Kamilla, even your life wouldn’t be enough compensation! I think you did this on purpose!”

The room fell silent, no one expected Penelope to act out. Allison could only feel the burning pain on her cheek, but she couldn’t fight. back. All text © NôvelD(r)a'ma.Org.

A tear fell on her reddened hand, burning like fire.

The next second, a figure stepped in front of her, Jason looked at Penelope coldly. “Enough. It was just an accident, Ms. Flanagan, you’re overreacting.”

“Penelope was just worried about Kamilla, she acted without thinking.”

Leah’s words brought Penelope back to reality, she nodded repeatedly, “I was too anxious. As long as Kamilla is okay, that’s all that

matters.”

Kamilla scoffed. Was she being used as a pawn? Did this Penelope think she was stupid?

However, Leah immediately changed the topic and turned to Allison, “Allison, we can’t employ someone as careless as you any longer. Pack your things, take three months‘ wages, and leave.”

Allison was stunned, if she left the Flanagan family, what about her mother’s illness?

She was so anxious she didn’t even notice the pain in her hand, she immediately pleaded, “Mrs. Flanagan, I know I was wrong, please don’t make me leave.”

‘Mrs. Flanagan, Allison she…”

“Mr. Brummett, are you saying the Flanagan family doesn’t even have the right to fire a maid?”

Leah cut him off before he could finish. Every time she saw Allison’s face, she felt uncomfortable, she even suspected that Allison was Christopher’s illegitimate daughter.

Now that she finally had a chance to kick them out, she wouldn’t pass it up so easily!

However, just as she finished speaking, Lucian, who hadn’t said a word, stood up, “Kamilla has already said she’s okay. Let’s drop it.”

He glanced at Allison’s hand, his eyes slightly dark, and he spoke politely but coldly, “I’ll take Kamilla home now.”

Seeing that he was leaving, Penelope’s expression changed slightly. She quickly grabbed his arm, “Lucian.”

Lucian glanced at her hand; Penelope felt the pressure and unconsciously let go.

Lucian said softly. “About the engagement details, I’ll have someone discuss it with you.”

With that, he calmed her inner unease. She knew she couldn’t cling to him now, so she smiled at him warmly, “Please be careful on the road. I’m sorry, Kamilla, for the incident happening on your first visit to my house.”

Kamilla didn’t even look at her, what a two–faced woman.

Once they were in the car, Kamilla couldn’t help but ask, “Lucian, you’re not really going to marry Penelope, are you?”
