Chapter 180
Chapter 180
Ivy received a phone call from Hades early the following day. “Phyton & Co’s bankruptcy occurred so abruptly. Does it have anything to do with Wyatt Reed?” Ivy knew Cooper would notice, but he shouldn’t have gotten the news so soon since he was away. She told Cooper calmly that Taurus Phyton was the mastermind behind the car crash. Cooper was deafeningly quiet for a full minute. His voice grew uncomfortably cold. “Always keep Bill with you, and don’t let your guard down. You don’t need to get in the way of the others. Just wait for me to come back.” Ivy agreed and spoke for a few minutes before hanging up the phone. She concentrated her efforts on the new project and arrived at ABC Corporation early in the morning. Because Jack was inexperienced, he was confronted with some complex issues and did not know how to make certain decisions. Ivy patiently taught him all day. It was already evening in the blink of an eye. Outside the window, the sun was setting, turning half of the sky red. It was breathtaking. She sat up straight and prepared to leave work. She noticed the man sitting in a wheelchair with an imposing aura as soon as she left the office. Even when he wasn’t standing tall, his sharp and defined features made him appear unapproachable and cold. Liam Saver, who was sitting next to Wyatt on the sofa, raised his eyebrows when he noticed Ivy. “Ms. Morgan, you’re finally out of the office!” His tone was reassuring. Liam untied his tie. Wyatt came over in the afternoon on purpose to look through all of their projects and accounts because he wanted to wait for Ivy to get off work. His keen eyes picked up on numerous flaws. He was more than his flaws. He outperformed professional auditors! Liam would probably go insane if Wyatt stayed any longer. Wyatt’s eyes softened as soon as he saw Ivy. With a warm smile, he looked up at Ivy. “You’ve arrived just in time. A new French restaurant has opened nearby. Why don’t you join me in trying out the dishes?” “Why do you want me to experiment with food?” Ivy was irritated.
Wyatt gave her a disgruntled look. “Didn’t we agree that you’d look after me?” His appearance made her appear to be a scumbag who had abandoned him. The people around them couldn’t believe what they were seeing. Ivy did not want to be subjected to the wrath of the crowd. She rushed up to push Wyatt’s wheelchair and tossed her bag to Bill. “Then let’s go try the food.” Ivy did, after all, feel guilty. Bill trailed behind her, expressionless, and eventually took the wheelchair from her. Ivy was unaware, but Wyatt was, and he could only stifle his rage. A small human darted over as they were about to get into the car. “Pretty Lady! I really miss you!” Ivy came to a halt in her steps when she noticed Pierce running over excitedly. “I haven’t seen you in a long time!” he whined in a baby voice as he hugged her legs. “I really miss you.” She stroked his curly hair and felt her heart melt into a puddle. She knelt and hugged his soft, chubby little body. “I miss you, Pierce. I heard your father say that you’ve been studying diligently. You’re such a good little boy!” Pierce was initially dissatisfied with his father, who had arranged for someone to look after him, ensuring that he could do his homework. He eventually sneaked out to look for Pretty Lady. When he heard this, the resentment that had built up in his heart over the previous few days vanished. ‘Pretty Lady is complimenting me!’ Pierce smiled as he hugged Ivy’s fragrant body and delightedly curved his eyes. “Yes! I’ll be more handsome and wealthy than Daddy when I grow up!” ‘By then, I’ll be able to spend uninterrupted time with my pretty lady!’ Wyatt snorted and glared coldly at the kid next to them. He was disgusted by this child’s arrogance. “Enough of that. We should leave right now.” Pierce looked nervously at his lovely lady. “Are you going somewhere? If so, I’d like to go as well!” Pierce’s hair was tousled by Ivy. She adored this boy and would never turn him down.
“Okay!” Wyatt’s eyes grew darker. His voice grew icy. “Is Marco Seely aware that you escaped on your own?” In Ivy’s arms, Pierce shrunk. He was repentant. ‘This whiner Mister! He’s ill, but he’s still so obnoxious!’ Wyatt took out his phone and dialed Marco gloatingly. “Your son has snuck out and joined Ivy and me.” He was implying that Marco should hurry over and remove his obnoxious son. Wyatt purposefully placed the call on speakerphone for Pierce to hear Marco’s voice. Marco’s voice on the phone was indifferent and cold. “Is that so? Then please look after him for me. I’m currently in a meeting; we’ll speak later.” The call was terminated. The three individuals became immobile. Pierce regained his composure and was so delighted that he embraced Ivy tightly, refusing to let go. “Great! I can now be with my pretty lady!” Wyatt’s face flushed with rage. He felt a little out of breath as he examined his black phone screen. ‘I finally got to date Ivy, but now I’m required to babysit for Marco Seely?! Ugh!’ They all went to the restaurant, including Bill. Jimmy had made early reservations. The atmosphere was sophisticated, with dim, amorous lighting ideal for cultivating romantic feelings. He even suggested conversation starters for Wyatt. They should reflect on the past and plan for the future. They reserved the entire floor, ensuring that no other guests were present. They felt as if they were in space due to the smooth symphony and dreamy, starry surroundings. It was lovely and romantic. Everything would have been better if Pierce had not been present. Bill was seated at a nearby table. Pierce sat in the middle of the two adults, holding Ivy’s hand. He felt a little discouraged as he looked at the flowers and candles on the table. Wyatt extended his hand and presented a bouquet of blue lilies that had been flown in from Holland. It was exceedingly difficult to locate. His eyes were gentle as he made a concerted effort to ignore Pierce, their third wheel. His voice was enticingly low and magnetic. “This is intended for you.” ‘Is it true that Whiner Mister prepared a gift?!’ Pierce stood up with a grunt before Ivy could take it. “Pretty Lady only enjoys big white things, Mr. Reed.” Wyatt stowed the flowers and locked his gaze on Pierce. He was becoming increasingly irritated with this child by the minute. Pierce’s eyes curved into delicate arcs as he smiled. He rummaged in his pocket. “Pretty Lady, I came out in a hurry and was unable to purchase flowers for you, but I did grab a handful of small sparkly stones from the safe for you.” He then extended his chubby little hand and placed the aforementioned sparkly stones on the table in front of Ivy. Ivy was stunned for a brief moment. Pierce did, in fact, bring a few diamonds. They were all large uncut diamonds, clearly very expensive! The diamond glowed shockingly brightly in the dim light as it refracted the starlight surrounding it. It glowed faintly. Pierce excitedly rubbed his hands together and beamed at his pretty lady. “I have a great deal more! How do you feel about it? I believe that all girls enjoy shiny stuff.”
