Chapter 183
Chapter 183
Prior to boarding the cruise ship, Duke noticed a few of the latest Ferraris parked on the shore, one of which he had his eye on for a long time but was unable to reserve. He admitted to being envious. “Ivy, did you guys just arrive here in those Ferraris?” Ivy flipped her hair back and smiled indifferently at him. Her diamond earrings glistened. “Not at all; we arrived by helicopter.” Duke was completely speechless. Brad Cooper and Vince entered not far away. Ivy approached them when she noticed them. Vince shook his head and cast a glance at Wyatt. “My uncle is so inept. He became disabled but is still unable to obtain the girl.” “Mr. Reed’s circumstance is unique,” Brad stated. Otherwise, any woman would be easily swayed by Wyatt’s conditions and fall for him instantly. The woman, on the other hand, was Ivy. Ivy smiled as she looked at them. “It’s been a while! How are you doing, gentlemen?” Vince appeared to be enraged. “Since you left the show, it has dwindled in popularity. Someone has even copied our model, putting my future in jeopardy.” Brad’s lips were hooked. “I’m all right.” Ivy nodded. “I’m relieved that you and your companion are safe.” ‘Did she simply disregard me?!’ Vince found himself speechless. ‘What, then, was my complaint?!’ They walked to the deck to catch some air. The fantastic night breeze blew her hair. It was a very relaxing experience. Vince attempted to convince Ivy to be a guest on the show and make an appearance from time to time in order to bring them more exposure. He continued to speak until his throat became dry, but Ivy refused. Ivy swirled her glass of wine. Moonlight reflected off the dark red liquid, which emitted a fragrant aroma. She arched her brows and smiled at Brad, who was also smiling at her. Pierce dashed over excitedly, not far away.
“Pretty Lady!” Ivy raised her eyes and noticed Marco conversing with Leo. She stroked Pierce’s head gently and said, “Pierce, you came as well, huh?” Pierce happily embraced her legs and rummaged through his pockets for something. “This is your gift, Pretty Lady!” Ivy lowered her eyes and instantly became immobile. Pierce possessed several gold bars. ‘Gold bars?!’ The gold bars glowed brilliantly in the darkness. Clearly, it was costly and extravagant. Ivy pursed her lips and looked helplessly at Pierce. ‘How did this child acquire such spending habits?!’ Vince and Brad, who stood beside Ivy, were also taken aback. Ivy looked at Pierce and said solemnly, “Pierce, in the future, you should just give me white chrysanthemums, all right?” She would prefer white chrysanthemums over such extravagant gifts from a small child. Pierce rubbed his temples in bemusement. “Do you not like it, Pretty Lady?” ‘Did she not enjoy the large gold bracelet I gave her? According to Nanny, gold bars are a sign of sophistication.’ Ivy laughed. “My preference is for chrysanthemums.” Pierce gave her a smirk. “Okay!” He bolted away in a flash, searching the entire ship for white chrysanthemums to present to his lovely lady. “Tsk, tsk... Ivy, you even enchanted a small child?!” Vince stated. Ivy arched her brow. “What am I to say... I can’t help myself from being so lovable.” Outside, the butler rushed in. He spoke in hushed tones as he noticed the two people behind her. “Miss, a lady outside is adamant about seeing you, but I have no idea who she is.” Mr. Santos was familiar with all of her acquaintances, but he had never seen the woman outside. Ivy shook her head in surprise and set the glass she was holding down. “I’ll take a look.” She smiled as she walked out and noticed the bodyguard blocking the woman outside.
By chance, it was Beatrice. ‘Huh?’ When Beatrice saw Ivy, her eyes glowed. “I’ve finally met you, Ms. Morgan! I’ve been searching for you for several days.” Ivy pursed her lips and deduced the reason for Beatrice’s visit. ‘Brad Cooper!’ Ivy’s face was devoid of expression. “I am not a close friend of yours.” Beatrice felt a smidgeon of embarrassment. “Well, we’ve met previously, and you’re the only person who can assist me at the moment.” At first, everyone assumed Beatrice would marry Eric Todd, and as a result, they sucked up to her in every way. Beatrice was abruptly ejected from that elite circle when Eric married another woman. As a result, no one would help her. Ivy cast a cold glance at Beatrice. She was perplexed as to how Beatrice gained access to the deck, given their distance from the shore! Unfortunately, Beatrice was stopped outside by the bodyguards without an invitation. Ivy stood there, not intending to admit her. “Help you? On what basis?” Beatrice stood there looking helpless and frail-looking. “Ms. Morgan, despite our lack of familiarity, you ruined my life; therefore, do you feel no sense of guilt?” Although the words were clearly reproachful, Beatrice acted aggrieved and weak yet assertive. Beatrice blamed Ivy for everything. Beatrice would have been Mrs. Todd by now if Ivy had not gone to their private room with Brad that day. Since her fall from grace, she had been resentful. She considered returning to Brad, but Brad was adamant about not seeing her. She was not about to give up so easily, given how close she was to live in luxury. Ivy was taken aback by Beatrice’s thick skin and delusory beliefs. What reason did she have to feel guilty? “Have you ever witnessed a police officer apprehend a criminal and felt apprehensive about their
punishment?” Ivy posed a rhetorical question. Beatrice’s face flushed briefly. “Your language is vile!” Beatrice expressed resentment. “What you did was heinous,” Ivy noted. “You’ve been at the top of the pyramid since you were a child; how could you possibly understand how difficult it was for me to reach this point?” Beatrice appeared miserable as she sobbed, her eyes red. “How am I to understand how difficult it is for you?” Ivy’s voice was hushed. Beatrice was responsible for her misery, so what right did she have to come here and lament her lot in life? It was absurd! Beatrice was stunned; Ivy had not fallen for any of her deceptions; how could she possibly continue? “Beatrice, you messed up,” Ivy said slowly. “You should have anticipated being exposed at some point. You were not framed, so why are you behaving as if you were?” The corners of Beatrice’s mouth trembled. Her complexion was pale. “But… However, I was so close! I was simply attempting to live a pleasant life with Eric.” Ivy became irritable. ‘Why am I forced to see this obnoxious woman on such a pleasant day?’ “I don’t have time for your nonsense, so let’s get to the point. What are your intentions?” Beatrice bit her lower lip angrily and fixed her gaze on her. “Are you and Brad actually dating?” Ivy burst out laughing as soon as she heard this. What a thug! Beatrice was lamenting her relationship with Eric Todd, and in the blink of an eye, she desired to join Brad’s crew. If Brad had remained the same penniless explorer, Beatrice would not have felt the need to cling to him so desperately. Ivy did not respond but only offered a slight smile. Her clear eyes appeared to be able to see through Beatrice’s most private thoughts and reveal her secrets. “Brad and I are built on a solid foundation. For me, he changed his bank password to my birthday and instructed me to deposit all of his earnings into that account. He proposed six times to me, but I
declined. Did he accomplish any of this on your behalf?” Her tone was smug as she boasted about her accomplishments in the past. Beatrice believed that because she was Brad’s ex-girlfriend, she posed a threat to Ivy. Ivy, in particular, being a pampered young lady, would be capable of handling such agitation. Ivy observed Beatrice’s attitude shift and sensed the thorns in her words. Beatrice’s intentions were crystal clear. Beatrice was attempting to instill jealousy in Ivy in order to induce her to quit. ‘Lol!’ If Ivy had been dating Brad in real life, she would have exploded at Beatrice’s words. They weren’t dating, though.Belongs to NôvelDrama.Org - All rights reserved.
