The Billionaire's Regret

Chapter 209

Chapter 209

Wyatt's resolve and icy demeanor left no room for maneuver. It was not at all what Avery Lamour had anticipated. Avery Lamour was overcome with emotion. She was in a state of panic, and her eyes were filled with pitiful tears. Her eyes gradually turned red as she shook and gazed at Wyatt as if she were about to cry. "Why, Mr. Reed? Everyone says we're a perfect match." Avery Lamour was the youngest daughter of Lamour Corporation's chairman. This revelation had narrowed the distance between Wyatt and Avery. 'Why does he continue to avoid eye contact with me? Why didn't he seek a marriage alliance with me?' During this time, it was evident to Avery that Ivy had no interest in Wyatt. Nevertheless, why did Avery have no chance with Wyatt? She was perplexed and predictive. However, Wyatt did not even bother to glance at her, nor did he explain himself to her, as he did not wish to waste time on an insignificant individual. He retrieved his phone and called Jimmy. "Have someone come up and clean the space." His voice was bone-chilling and caused people to shiver. He turned around to leave but stopped abruptly. As he approached, he looked at Ivy, who stood at the opposite door. His emotions became suddenly complicated. Even so, he panicked slightly out of concern that she would misunderstand something. Wyatt took a quick step forward with a stern expression. Why are you here, Ivy? Ivy arched her brow and crinkled her eyes without concealing her emotions. "Of course, I'm watching a good show!" She had suspected that something was amiss from the outset. As soon as the coffee accidentally spilled on Wyatt, Ivy noticed there was something off about the assistant who served her the beverage. 'Who might it be?' Ivy pondered. Avery was part of the same group as a member of Jack's staff, who was assisting with the AH

project. He must be pretty acquainted with Avery. Why else would he create an opportunity for Avery to enter the room without being invited? Thus, Ivy purposefully followed to observe the entire performance, and no one noticed. This performance was far more exciting than Hades' performance in the basement. Unfortunately, Avery's level remained insufficient. Avery should not have brought reporters to this location. She should have summoned their parents to be witnesses. Wyatt stood still. Ivy's indifference was like rubbing salt in his wounds, judging by the expression on his face. He would prefer Ivy to become enraged and reprimand him than to stay out of his business. "Is it good?" Wyatt acted as if there was nothing wrong. His voice was remarkably tranquil. Ivy curled her lips upwards. "Despite being a bit cheesy, it is still entertaining." Avery's use of such outdated strategies was not particularly astute, but one could never tire of such drama, especially since Wyatt was the target. Ivy observed Wyatt's icy gaze. It was unfortunate that Avery no longer had the opportunity because Wyatt despised those who plotted against him. Ivy had initially intended to assist Avery, but after Avery plotted against her, she could not ignore the situation. Wyatt approached using his cane. His indifferent and awe-inspiring demeanor had a chilling quality. As he approached, Ivy detected the minty scent emanating from his body. Ivy was momentarily stunned and absorbed in thought. She raised her head and gathered her grin. Wyatt regarded her from below. His thin lips slightly parted. "It would have been more entertaining if you had been the female protagonist." The conclusion is unimaginable. Wyatt had anticipated it for a very long time. Ivy did not avoid eye contact with him, but she momentarily held her breath. She let out a light laugh

suddenly. "I would consider it if the male lead was different." Wyatt's eyes became icy as he stared at her without blinking. The feeling that someone was ogling his possessions made him extremely uneasy. He advanced without any regard for his crippled leg and pushed Ivy against the wall. He pinned her down so she could not move. Wyatt’s gaze intensified. Ivy’s eyes flashed with panic before she glared with irritation at Wyatt. The two of them were intransigent. They were in such proximity to one another that Ivy could feel Wyatt’s breath on her face. Ivy’s heart was briefly racing. She raised her arms to push him away, but Wyatt grabbed her hand in the next instant. As he looked at her, he had a dark and strong gaze. His voice was raspy and low. “Ivy, what else must I do to earn your forgiveness?” His pleading and display of weakness gave the impression that he wanted to slit his heart open so she could see his sincerity. Ivy inclined her head to face him. Her heart trembled as if it had been electrocuted. After some time, she laughed. “Mr. Reed, there is nothing you need to do because I never look back.” Her heart was as icy as a boulder. At this time, a set of unfamiliar, heavy footsteps approached from the side. Who could have been so inconsiderate as to interrupt them at this time? “Ms. Morgan, the curtain call is almost here. Will I accompany you back?” It was Marco Seely. His warm voice appeared to save her heart, which was on the verge of being shattered by Wyatt’s sadness and grief. Ivy pushed Wyatt away calmly. Her gaze was crystal-clear and icy. “Yes, please, Mr. Seely.” She averted her gaze from Wyatt and walked towards Marco, taking his arm as they entered the elevator. Ivy could feel the cold and piercing gaze that followed them constantly. Wyatt felt he was about to lose emotional control, but he could only watch her leave.

The feeling that he would ultimately lose her grew stronger and stronger. He was terrified, anxious, and panicked, but he dared not speak. His fists were tightly clenched for an extended period before he returned to normal. IVY wakes up early each morning. Birds were chirping on the branches due to the incredible weather. The balcony was protected from direct sunlight by the dense foliage of the trees. Early in the morning, she stretched her back and made her way to the office. Ivy’s office attire was arbitrary at all times. On occasion, she wore casual skirts, and on other occasions, she wore semiformal suits. She would not intentionally dress a certain way to project the image of a powerful, decisive businesswoman. In the end, no one dared to speak up. Greg entered Ivy’s office carrying a stack of papers. Ivy picked up the coffee cup from the table and sipped it. It was incredibly calming. She puckered her lips. Before you take any other action today, inform HR to fire Avery Lamour. Greg was stunned and somewhat astonished. Find out what projects Lamour Corporation has been eyeing recently and acquire them if they look promising. Greg was surprised, but he did not dare to ask any additional questions and did not delay. Yes, Mr. President. He abruptly departed the office. Ivy has never been someone who refused second chances. Avery Lamour was terminated in less than three days, indicating that she violated Ivy’s taboo. Avery Lamour was affiliated with the Lamour Corporation. The majority of high-society women who were unable to perform would typically be asked to resign. Avery’s dismissal and Ivy’s relentless pursuit of this matter were a disgrace to Lamour Corporation. Ivy had lunch with Helios at noon after a morning meeting and received Greg’s report by the time she returned to the office in the afternoon. “Avery Lamour has been in a two-hour wait. She insists on seeing you before her departure.” Ivy laughed carelessly. ‘She is experiencing death throes now? Why would she do all of that, to begin with?’

“I do not wish to waste time with her. Tell her to go back to where she came from.” Greg anticipated this and only sought confirmation from Ivy before resuming his journey.Têxt belongs to NôvelDrama.Org.
