The Billionaire's Regret

Chapter 91

Chapter 91

Simon had noticed Ivy’s zipper on the back of her dress was unzipped. Her bare shoulders and large track of fair skin were breathtakingly beautiful. Her long hair was draped behind her at first, so no one noticed. On the other hand, Simon noticed this minor detail when she flipped her hair earlier. Ivy came to a halt in her steps and looked back in surprise. Simon was already zipping up her dress again. The door to the lounge swung open in the next second. “I’m truly sorry, Ivy. I didn’t mean to bother you while you were making out with Simon Albert. You guys keep going.” Listening to the pretentiously sweet voice, Ivy immediately recognized who it was. Julia Smith. Ivy cast a cold glance at Julia. “Are you blind? Which of your eyes saw us making out?” Simon let go of Ivy at that moment and snorted coldly. “Who exactly is she? Does she have no eyes?” Before opening the door, Julia paused and bit her lower lip. She wasn’t the only one who was standing outside. Wyatt Reed was also present. The tall figure of the man completely blocked the light from outside. His aura was cold and quiet, and his dark and sullen eyes were fixed on Ivy and Simon in the lounge. Julia’s eyes widened as she cast a glance at Simon and Ivy. She spoke slowly and carefully. “My name is Julia, and I’m Ivy’s younger cousin. I sincerely apologize, Ivy. I guess I was wrong. I noticed Mr. Albert taking off your clothes and assumed...” she paused, a pitiful expression on her face as if she was being bullied into remaining silent. Ivy averted her gaze from the man next to Julia. She gave Julia a cold stare. “Did you assume? Why would you think such a filthy thing? You seem to have a lot of experience with stuff like this, don’t you?” Ivy let out a cold chuckle. Julia’s face immediately became gloomy. Ivy scowled. Is she attempting to appear innocent in front of me? Her expectations are simply too

low! “You misunderstood me, Ivy. I didn’t mean it at all. I had just spilled wine on Mr. Reed and brought him up to change his clothes. I wasn’t expecting you to use this lounge.” Julia bit her lower lip and scowled at Ivy. Ivy’s gaze shifted to the dark stain on Wyatt’s jacket. She did, in fact, spill wine on him. It was impossible to tell whether she did it on purpose or not. Ivy’s lips twitched. “Then it appears that we were the ones who interrupted you. Albert, let’s go. Unless you intend to stay and watch the show instead?” Simon raised his brows and extended his arm, allowing Ivy to rest her wrist on his arm as if she were a queen. Julia eagerly made way for them as they approached the door. Wyatt, on the other hand, remained as still as a mountain. His eyes had a dark light in them. He had no intention of yielding. Ivy cocked her brow. “Please excuse me, Mr. Reed.” “What exactly did you mean by ‘show’?” Wyatt’s voice had a cold tone to it. Huh… He dares to play semantics with me. In that case, I’m not going to be polite. This is my territory! Ivy pondered. Her sarcastic grin widened as she noticed Julia’s uneasy expression. “It means precisely what you think it means. There are dozens of guests here today, but my dear cousin saw something special in you, Mr. Reed, and poured wine on you. Who would have guessed you two came to the lounge together if it weren’t for the show that will follow?” Wyatt’s face became gloomy. His face was tense, and his gaze was as cold as ice. It was excruciatingly unpleasant. Julia, understandably, refused to acknowledge that her thoughts had been revealed. She looked at Wyatt, terrified. “Of course not. I didn’t mean to do it!” Her face flushed with worry, and her eyes turned bright red. She appeared pitiful. “Ivy, I know you dislike me, but you don’t have to humiliate

me like this, do you?” Ivy burst out laughing. “Do I embarrass you? Is it necessary for others to do that for you?” What she meant was that Julia was already filthy. Ivy could no longer be bothered by Julia. ‘What a wasting of time!’ Wyatt remained where he was. His lips were pressed together in a tight line. His brows were furrowed, and his expression was solemn. Ivy approached him and detected the faint scent of his cologne mixed with the odor of alcohol. His body was enveloped in a cold, austere aura. He remained motionless. Ivy raised her brows slightly as she reached out and touched the soiled part of his chest. The two of them were very close in terms of distance. Ivy could hear his heartbeat because they were so close. Her lips curled into a smile, and her eyes curved charmingly as she gazed up at him, cold and noble. “Mr. Reed, hurry up and change your clothes.” Her tone was sinister. Wyatt’s expression was solemn. He grabbed Ivy’s hand all of a sudden. She was pushed into the adjacent room before she had a chance to resist. The door slammed shut behind. Ivy was pushed against the wall with a hand propped up next to her. His odor engulfed her. She struggled for a few seconds before frowning and raising her eyes to meet his gaze. Her tone of voice was icy. “What does this mean, Mr. Reed?” Ivy was extremely uneasy as a result of the intimate action and proximity. She wasn’t the Ivy Morgan of three years ago who would swoon and be enchanted by Wyatt’s gentle glance. This atmosphere gave Ivy the impression that she was no longer in command. Wyatt’s face was expressionless and cold. His gaze was fixed on Ivy’s expression. “You can see for yourself now that the show you expected will not take place.” His voice had a hint of anger suppressed in it, but it was more of a sullen coldness. He drew his arm away from her, his face expressionless.

Wyatt’s eyes were filled with a sensual light. In front of Ivy, he slowly unbuttoned his soiled jacket. Then he carelessly tossed it to the side chair. He didn’t even look over. His reckless movement had a wild quality to it. He yanked his tie off with one hand and tossed it on top of the coat. The top button unbuttoned, revealing his enticing Adam’s apple. His demeanor was a mix of charm and sloppiness. His aura was tinged with an unruly coldness. What a suffocating environment. Ivy only froze for a split second before moving her gaze away. She stifled her racing heart. Her lips moved slowly open. “You think too much, Mr. Reed. I never think about things that have nothing to do with me.” Ivy was unconcerned about the ‘show’ that was going on between Wyatt and Julia. Was it any of her concerns? Wyatt’s actions piqued interest. “Doesn’t have anything to do with you?” He softened his tone. It sounded a little shaky. Perhaps she misheard. “Of course.” Ivy turned on her heels and prepared to leave after she finished. Her arm was grabbed as she turned around. These plays were simply unreadable. Was this really necessary? What exactly did Wyatt want? Ivy’s face sank, and she was about to ask. On the other hand, Wyatt pinned her against the wall once more. He cupped her face with his hands and pressed his thin lips against hers without hesitation. He lost control and infiltrated her sweetness with a hint of madness. She was just as sweet and seductive as he had imagined. Ivy was deafeningly silent. His cologne, mixed with the faint scent of alcohol, reminded her of something she had once been fascinated by. Ivy seemed to jolt awake when his cool lips tried to advance further. She bit his lips firmly. Ivy slapped him across the face fiercely during his brief pause. The slap was audible and clear. Wyatt’s face drooped. He locked his gaze on her. Ivy, enraged, pushed him away. “Mr. Reed, you’d better take a good look. I’m not the type of frivolous woman who can be bought with gifts. There are plenty of women outside if you want toProperty belongs to Nôvel(D)r/ama.Org.

flirt!” Wyatt’s heart rate slowed slightly as his voice became hoarse and cold. “But you are the only one I want.” He remembered what Simon Albert had prepared earlier. ‘Did he try to propose to her? Huh!’ Wyatt was filled with uncontrollable rage. He wasn’t sure when it started, but she seemed to be deeply rooted in his heart. She grew and sprouted, and that feeling was now impossible to ignore. Ivy’s pupils shrank dramatically. It was as if the scar on her heart had been exposed and was dripping with blood. The agony was excruciating! “Wyatt Reed, we’ve already split up. I finally left your life, just as you had wished. We have nothing in common right now, and we will never have anything in common in the future. I have no feelings for you any longer, so please stay as far away from me as possible.” ‘Who gave him the authority to act in this manner? He just barged in and peered into my scars when my heart was barren. I, too, am in pain! What was he attempting to accomplish? Is he going to make a fool of me?’ That one kiss caused her to panic and ached all over. It was both unexpectedly beautiful and incredibly repulsive! Ivy did not waste any time exiting. She didn’t seem to want to see him again. She was afraid he would notice and dismiss her misery and despair. She opened the door and walked away with ease. She locked the door behind her. Wyatt remained silent. The slap mark on his face was bright red, and blood oozed from the corner of his lips. However, he was completely unaware of it. He felt a dull ache in his chest. “Happy birthday, Ivy,” he whispered. He felt as if he had truly lost the most important thing to him at that moment.
