The Ceo’s Convict Wife

Chapter 1417

Calvin stood there quietly. Hanna thought she was watching a beautiful picture and he was like a star or supermodel one usually saw in posters.

She thought her parents would be amazed by Calvin too if they were still alive.

Hanna wondered whether they would be surprised that she had such an amazing boyfriend.

Hanna thought, “I wish they were still with me.” Suddenly, Hanna’s nose twitched and she wanted to cry. Slowly, her eyes turned red.

Calvin noticed it. “Do you want to cry?””

Hanna sniffed and muttered, “Actually, my parents’ deaths were because of me. That’s why my aunt and other relatives called me a jinx. They think I bring misfortunes to people.”

This was Hanna’s secret buried in her heart for years. She had never said anything about it to anyone before. But at that moment, she suddenly wanted to pour it out to him.

Calvin said, “You are never a jinx. Don’t blame yourself for it.”

Hanna said, “But it was my fault. Dad was a bit under the weather that day but I shouted and insisted on going to the Great Valley. So, Dad took some pills and drove me and Mom there. But something in the pills was a tranquilizer. As a result, we had a car accident and Dad died. Mom wrapped me in her arms. In the end, Mom died two days later in the hospital. However, I just got some insignificant injuries.”

Even after so many years, Hanna dreamed about that horrible accident from time to time at midnight.

“If you think so, your parents would feel sad about that. Don’t let them down. They protected you and wanted you to live a good life.” Calvin said, “Your parents would never want to see you suffer.”

Hanna murmured, “Did I let them down?” She fixed her eyes on the black and white photos of her parents on the tombstones. That was how they looked like when they were still alive.” Hanna said, “You’re right. I… I shouldn’t let them down. I have to live a better life and make my life worth what they did for me…”

When Hanna said these words, her tears kept streaming down her face.

Hanna wiped her tears with her hands in a hurry. “I won’t cry. Stop

crying. The last thing they wanted is my tears.”

Hanna tried hard to hold back her tears. But the more she tried, the more tears gushed out of her eyes.

Hanna thought, “What should I do to stop crying?”

Suddenly, an arm wrapped around Hanna’s shoulder. The next second, she was in Calvin’s arms and felt a broad breast.

Hanna smelled something familiar and reassuring. She heard a soft voice from above her head. “It’s all right. Stop crying. Stop crying…”

Hanna somehow found the voice magical. Slowly, she stopped crying.

Hanna buried her face in Calvin’s arms. For the first time, she felt that she was not lonely! She always came here alone before and every time she felt lonely and bitter.

But this time, someone else was with her and helped heal the pain bit by bit.

After a long time, Hanna withdrew herself from Calvin’s arms. “I… I am not crying. They would like to see my smile, not my tears.”

When Hanna said these words, her eyes were red and her face was wet with tears. But she was trying hard to smile.

In an instant, Calvin felt like his heart was being stabbed by something. He knew was feeling sad.

He was feeling sad for her.

After a while, Hanna said to Calvin, “Let’s get back. Thank you for coming here with me.”

Calvin looked at Hanna and said, “You don’t have to say thank you to me all the time. Do you have anything particular to do today?”

Hanna shook her head. “No, nothing.”

Calvin said, “Then I’ll take you to a place.”

Hanna asked, “Where?”

“You’ll know when you get there.” Calvin checked the time and said, “If we start off now, we can have lunch there.

They got back into the car and Calvin drove toward the north of the city. Nôvel/Dr(a)ma.Org - Content owner.

After about half an hour, Hanna’s face drastically changed. She realized that she was on the way to the Great Valley. She would never forget the way there.

That was the road on which the car accident happened and it was in her dream hundreds of times!

Hanna murmured, gradually turning pale, “Where are you taking me?”

Calvin said, “The Great Valley.”

The moment Hanna heard this answer, she immediately turned pale. “No! I don’t want to be there!”

That place reminded her of her sin. If she hadn’t kept crying and insisted on going there, that accident would have happened.

Calvin said, “That’s what you’re overly obsessed with. Why not go there and handle it?” Normally, he was not a busybody.

But seeing that Hanna tried to smile even when she was crying, Calvin felt sad.

Calvin knew that she still couldn’t get over that accident and he wanted help her deal with it.

Calvin said, “There’s nothing terrifying about the Great Valley. It was where your parents wanted to go with you. You didn’t make it to the destination last time. Why don’t we finish that trip today?”

Hanna thought, ‘Finish that trip?!

Am I prepared to do that?’

When they were near where the car accident happened, Hanna’s eyes suddenly widened and she felt her whole body stiff.

She tightly clenched the hem of her clothes on the sides and her face was pale with fear in her eyes.

The harsh sound of collision and Hanna’s father and mother’s screams kept ringing in her ears. The image of a pour of blood came sweeping back.

Whose blood was that? Was it her father’s or her mother’s?

Everything she could see now was blood. She began to tremble. Even though she tried very hard to stop trembling, she failed.

A voice roared desperately in her mind, “Stop! Stop driving! No!”

When the car finally came to the very spot where the accident took place, Hanne screamed wildly, followed by a squeal of brakes.
