Chapter Fifty

The ambulance came and took us to the hospital, even in the ambulance I couldn't stop staring at the

purplish looking bruises, I felt like finding Sam and beating him up, inflicting the pain he inflicted on

Tracy on him, he should be thankful he is already far from me.

We got to the hospital and Tracy was taken away for a check-up, while I paced waiting for the doctor to

bring me any news about Tracy.

Tracy's parents and her brothers met me at the hospital, we waited for over an hour after they came in

before the doctor eventually came out to meet us.

"How is my wife doing?" I asked moving closer to the doctor.

"She is fine, her child? whatever substance she was given affected the child but...."

"Wait!, What child?" I asked surprised and he gave me weird look.

"You don't know your wife is with child?" He asked

"She is what?" I asked

"Congratulations?"

I didn't know how to feel but her parents and brothers were happy.

"How is the baby doing?" I asked and everyone stopped talking, I prayed that he won't say anything

bad happened to our child.

"Quite strong, but whatever substance your wife was so strong that she almost had a miscarriage, in

fact, nothing is sure at the moment, she has to be on complete bed rest for a while, she needs to be

here so that we can watch her, for now, they are both fine."

"Can I see her?" I asked but he shook his head.

"Not now, she is still being attended to, I'll tell the nurses to let you know when she is awake." He said

and I nodded then he left, I bowed my head and sent a quick prayer to God.

I felt someone's hand on my shoulder and I opened my eyes to see my father-in-law's hand on my

shoulder.

"Don't worry, she'll be fine." He said and I nodded.

It was not an easy task but I was able to convince all of them to go home and let me stay with Tracy.

I sat down for hours waiting for the nurses to tell me that Tracy was awake but that didn't happen, I was

already when I felt someone sit beside me, I looked to see the doctor that treated me when I got hurt

last time.

"Hi."

"Hello." I greeted back and there was silence for a while.

"Let me guess, your wife got hurt now?

." He said and I bowed my head.

A nurse came minutes later to tell me Tracy was awake and she took me to where she was, there I saw

my queen lying on the bed looking very weak.

"My love." She called in a very low voice and the tears fell.

"Baby," I called back wiping my tears.

"Why are you crying?"

"I'm sorry Tee, I'm sorry, I'm sorry you had to go through all that, I'm sorry," I said kneeling beside her

bed and holding one of her hands.

"Oh, Alex."

"I'm sorry I left you six years ago, I'm sorry I was not there for you when you were pregnant, I'm sorry I

was not there for you on the day you gave birth to the twin, I'm sorry I couldn't prevent what happened,

I'm sorry for everything baby," I said crying and she was crying too.

"You don't have to be sorry anymore, you left then but you came back to me now, you returned to me at

the time I needed you the most even though I didn't admit, you returned and made me and the kid's

lives complete again, you left but you came back for me again."

"Please don't cry, my queen," I said wiping her tears with my thumbs

"You should stop crying too, my king." She said wiping my tears too and I smiled.

"I love you, baby."

"I love you too."

"It is all over now and I'm never leaving again, this time, it is going to be till death...."

"Stop, let's not talk about death, stay with me." She said and I nodded, my eyes accessed her body, the

bruises were still on her body.

"What did he use on you?." I asked

"A whip, oh Lord, you should go now, there were some guys, they had Tiana and the kids," Tracy said

trying to sit up but I stopped her.

"Rebecca saw them and we were able to save them last night."

"Oh, good, thank God, did you know Nora is Sam's half-sister?" She asked and I nodded

"I found out earlier."

"You know we are pregnant too."

"Yes."

"Oh good, guess you know everything."

"I'm not sure."

"Okay, I'm sleepy and I love you."

"I love you too baby" I replied, my phone and it was my mum trying to do a video call.

"My mum is calling."

"Oh really? My mother-in-law." Tracy said smiling and I picked.

"Is it true? what happened to my daughter-in-law? what happened? Is what I saw on the news true?"

My mum asked not giving me a chance to answer any of her questions.

"Take a deep breath darling." My dad said and she did.

"Now tell us, how is Tracy?" My dad asked

"I'm fine thank you," Tracy said and I turned the camera to face her, then I turned the camera back to

face me.

"Please she can't talk too much, that doctor said not to stress her."

"Tell us everything." My mum said and I rolled my eyes

"Not now, later, we are coming to New York as soon as Tracy is strong enough."

"Okay then." My mum said skeptically

"Nora and her brother have been arrested so tell Tracy she can rest well now without having to worry."

"Sure."

"Won't you tell them the good news?" Tracy asked then yawned.

"What good news?" My mum asked and I sighed.

"She's pregnant," I said and my mum screamed, I hung up and put my phone on silent.

"She sure is happy," Tracy said yawning again.

"Yes she is, now let's sleep," I said and she nodded.

"Sleep beside me." She said and I slept beside her, careful so I won't hurt her.

In no time she was asleep and all I could do was watch her, a lot has happened within the space of

twenty-four hours but she was sleeping like nothing ever went wrong.

She is so innocent and she looks very fragile, I want to keep loving and protecting her for the rest of my

life.

"I love you today, tomorrow, and forever," I said then I kissed her forehead.
