Skyler chuckled, his hand playfully covering his mouth, "You know, I bet Angel's got a bun in the oven,
and that's why she's not at the office. She used to be such a workaholic."
William pouted, "Uncle Skyler, do you really want my mom to have another baby?"
"Yep," Skyler nodded, "Having a new little one in the family is always a reason to celebrate."
William frowned, "But I already have a little sister. Nova's super sweet, and I really like her. Another
sister would just be too much."
Mira looked at him, tilting her head to the side, "You don't have a brother, though. Maybe Aunt Aurelia
could have a little brother for you. My mom really wanted a little brother for me, but she and dad got
divorced, so no brother for me." She sighed heavily.
Nina gave her a light pat on the head, "Well, it’s not a big deal. I never wanted a brother anyway.
William and Kane are like our brothers."
"That's true," Mira giggled.
William said, "I may not have a brother, but Kane does. And that brother is me, so we really don't need
another one."
Skyler felt a wave of dizziness, "Come on, William, another brother or sister is nothing to be upset
about. It just means more kids for holiday playtimes, and imagine how fun that would be."
William hung his head low, "But what if the new baby is a real handful and cries all the time? I can't
stand fussy babies. Nova's good, and she only fusses a little when she's hungry."
Kane clapped him on the shoulder, "Don't worry so much, William. Maybe our new sibling will be just as
sweet and smart as Nova."
"Still, I don't want mom to have another baby." William puffed out his cheeks, "Mom promised to take
me back to Goldstone next Christmas, but if she has another baby, she'll be too busy with them to take

"Christmas in Elysium can be just as nice," Kane tried to console him.
William grimaced, "It's not the same. Back in Goldstone, Dad would take me to the woods to chop
down a huge Christmas tree. Here in Elysium, all the trees are plastic, and they're fake. And there are
no reindeer to pull sleighs. It's just not the same."
Skyler rubbed his forehead, sensing that William was in a peculiar mood today. Did William really not
want a new sibling that badly?
"William, Elysium has me, Mira, Nina, and Kane. If you go to Goldstone, we can't spend Christmas
together."
"You could come with me to Goldstone. We could all have Christmas there," William suggested.
As they were talking, Aurelia appeared at the top of the stairs, catching the tail end of their
conversation.
William was throwing a bit of a tantrum today, which wasn't like him.
She descended the stairs, a gentle smile on her face, “What are you all chatting about?”
William ran over and hugged her, his little hands patting her belly. “Mommy's belly did seem bigger.” he
thought.
