The Contracted Ever After (Cordelia and Ronan)

Chapter 101

Chapter 101

"Ronan, you…" Deanna was freaking out. She used to live in Ronan's house, and their relationship

was all fuzzy. It was like she was Ronan’s girlfriend or something.

But now, he wanted her to stay in the house he shared with Cordelia. What was the deal here? Was

she a guest? Or just a freeloader? As a superstar, couldn’t she afford her own place?

Ronan didn’t say anything, and just waited for the housing authority to finish up. Once the property

deed was sorted out, he handed it to Deanna. "This is the property deed. You'll need it for a lot of stuff."

"But Ronan…" Deanna was about to say something, but Ronan turned to Cordelia. "If anything unfair

happens, tell me. No crying. Let's go!" He grabbed Cordelia's hand and took off.

Leila gently tapped Deanna's arm from behind. "What just went down?"

"How should I know?" Deanna snapped back.

Deanna watched Cordelia and Ronan walk away, a glint of malice in her eyes.

Ronan said Cordelia had suffered some "injustice." Deanna had no idea what tricks Cordelia had been

up to!

"Cordelia, you sly fox!" Deanna thought to herself.

Even after they got in the car, Cordelia was still baffled, not knowing what Ronan was up to. She

figured Ronan was doing this for Deanna. After all, as a CEO of a public company, having a celebrity

live in his house was a surefire way to draw paparazzi. It would make sense for Ronan, being the

clever guy he was, to avoid any stock price crash. Plus, with Cordelia around, it could help clear up any

misunderstandings.

After all, according to the agreement, Ronan's assets had nothing to do with her. The name on the

property deed could include her or not - the interpretation was all his.

Although Cordelia's doubts weren't entirely dispelled, she was touched by Ronan's actions. Eventually,

he told Deanna that the house belonged to him and Cordelia, and Deanna was just a guest.

But there was one thing Cordelia didn’t get. Weren’t Ronan and Deanna an item? Why was he treating

Deanna like this?

Just as Cordelia was lost in thought, her phone rang. It was a text from the training course she had

enrolled in before, telling her she had passed her economics law exam and to pick up her transcript at

Horizon Heights.

In an instant, all her worries disappeared. Cordelia couldn’t help but smile. She hadn’t even checked

her score yet, and they were already asking her to pick up her transcript. She quickly logged onto the

website to check her score – 84 points. A very high score.

“Can you drop me off at Horizon Heights?” Cordelia asked Ronan.

Ronan knew Horizon Heights was where Cordelia had her training. He didn’t seem too interested,

“Why?”

“I passed my economics law exam. They want me to pick up my transcript.” Cordelia added, “I scored

84.”

“Is that a high score?” Ronan asked indifferently. He turned the steering wheel at the corner, heading

for Horizon Heights.

“Of course…” Cordelia stopped mid-sentence. Clearly, Ronan wasn’t interested in her exam results.

And being a graduate of a prestigious overseas university, her score probably seemed insignificant to

him.

When they arrived at Horizon Heights, Cordelia said, “Wait for me here, I’ll be right back.”

Then she got out of the car and briskly walked towards Horizon Heights.

Adrian’s car was parked in the distance, and he saw Cordelia approaching.

Cordelia’s appearance took Adrian’s breath away. Honestly, Cordelia was naturally pretty – with long

legs, flawless skin, and a beautiful face. She stood out in a crowd. Even when she dressed down, you

could spot her a mile away. Now, dressed in a miniskirt and a red tee, she looked even more stunning.

She could easily be the prettiest girl on the block, or even in the entire city.

From where Cordelia got out of the car, Adrian could see Ronan sitting in the car, smoking, his gaze

drifting over towards Adrian.

Adrian thought to himself, “Had he bought her new clothes because Cordelia's old clothes were too

plain and might have marred his image?”

At the administrative office, there weren't many students who had passed, and everyone had different

times to collect their transcripts. So, it was just Cordelia and one other teacher - Jamie Colby. Content bel0ngs to Nôvel(D)r/a/ma.Org.

Jamie had the same reaction as Adrian when he saw Cordelia.

"Mr. Colby," Cordelia said a bit awkwardly, considering the last incident at Pearl Palms between Jamie

and Ronan.

"Cordelia, you scored 84, that's a high score. I didn't even score that high in economics law when I was

a student," Jamie said gently.

In her mind, Cordelia thought, “Mr. Colby knows how to appreciate people. He knows that my score is

high, unlike someone.”

"All thanks to your great teaching, Mr. Colby," Cordelia replied.

"No matter how well I teach, there are still students who fail. It's all because you're a good student. Are

you planning to study cost accounting here too?" Jamie asked again.

Cordelia thought, “One economics law course has already caused so much drama, if I take another

course here, won't it wreak more havoc?”

"Nah, it's just that I've got plenty of time to study but no time for classes, so I'm skipping that," Cordelia

said politely.

Jamie nodded and then glanced at Cordelia's outfit. "You're looking pretty snazzy today!"

His gaze made Cordelia feel uncomfortable. Remembering the drama his presence had caused,

Cordelia wished she could change her clothes right then and there.

"Oh, is that so? Thanks, Mr. Colby. Gotta bounce now." After the niceties, Cordelia made her way out of

the administration office.

She nearly bumped into someone.
