The Contracted Ever After (Cordelia and Ronan)

Chapter 348

Chapter 348

At Lumos Plaza.

"I feel like the last time I went shopping was a century ago," Cordelia mentioned to Brenda.

Brenda, linking arms with Cordelia, retorted, "Well, you can't say that, this mall is owned by your

husband. It's you who doesn't shop. If you wanted to, you could shop. Who would stop you?"

Cordelia squinted her eyes, feeling overwhelmed by the recent happenings that others might not have

understood. Brenda was single, so she couldn't empathize with Cordelia. So, Cordelia didn't delve into

details about her mother-in-law's issues, but was rather focused on which clothes were attractive.

Brenda, while examining a piece of clothing, complained about Marian, "She has no shame. Her law

firm is bankrupt, and now she wants to partner with us. She even approached Jamie yesterday, and

Jamie, like a fence-sitter, didn't utter a word, neither accepting nor refusing. This made Marian even

bolder, claiming, 'If Jamie doesn’t respond, it means he agrees. So, I will start working from tomorrow.'

How shameless!"

Cordelia felt a bit guilty, wondering if Brenda's rant was directed at her, after all, she was the one who

had introduced Brenda to this path.

"Where is Jamie? Did he really not nod or shake his head?" Cordelia asked casually.

"Since Jamie returned to PrimeNumbers Accounting as a major shareholder, he hasn't said a word

about Marian. But yesterday afternoon, he had a new office cleaned up for her. Isn't that a clear

approval? Marian is like a pesky stray dog, stubborn and relentless, and even worse than Manda. At

least Marian is a rich second generation and not as lowly as Manda," Brenda grumbled. "Her ambition

exceeds Manda's."

"As long as Jamie agrees, just turn a blind eye. Isn't it good that she is ambitious?" Cordelia tried to

pacify Brenda, considering she was the one who had stirred things up.

"So, you're saying I have no other choice?" Brenda asked helplessly. "Back when I was at

PrimeNumbers Accounting, I had peace. Then came Manda, and now Marian. These women seem

determined to be the death of me."

Cordelia knew that both women had only crossed paths with Brenda because of her, and it was she

who had disrupted Brenda's peace.

"This dress is pretty. Would it look good on me?" Brenda held up a summer dress. It was said that

women tend to spend money when they were upset.

"I'll buy this dress for you," Cordelia offered before Brenda could respond, and she went off to swipe

her card.

"I feel like I came today just to fleece you. I'm so sorry."

Cordelia laughed. "You can only fleece me if I have wool to spare."

In truth, Cordelia felt guilty towards Brenda, hence the gesture.

At home, Cordelia shared the day's events with Ronan. Ronan remained noncommittal, probably

because he felt Jamie's PrimeNumbers Accounting had little to do with him.

"From now on, you're not allowed to poach anyone else's deals!" Cordelia playfully scolded him.

"Do you think I enjoy poaching? I'm poaching deals because my wife is involved? The Audit Content provided by NôvelDrama.Org.

Department and Finance Department are always complaining about the workload, do you think I enjoy

this?" Ronan retorted while unbuttoning his shirt.

However, Brenda's visit did lift Cordelia's spirits.

Perhaps she needed to get out more often.

Ever since Olen and Amanda arrived, Cordelia had been on edge.

Ronan was considering sending them back to Canada, but seeing Amanda's daily devotion to him, he

couldn't bear to send them away. After all, they were his parents.
