The Contracted Ever After (Cordelia and Ronan)

Chapter 351

Chapter 351

Cordelia didn’t stir, and eventually drifted off to sleep until Ronan gently nudged her.

"Still sleeping? I've booked us a room. If you're tired, go ahead and rest. I'll have dinner sent up to you,"

Ronan said, holding Cordelia's hand.

"A room?"

"That's right, a room." Copyright by Nôv/elDrama.Org.

"You see, the innocent lamb here doesn’t even know what 'booking a room' means," one of Ronan’s

male classmates teased from the sidelines.

Without so much as a glance in his direction, Ronan told Cordelia, "They don't understand the concept

of booking a room. Let's show them."

"I'll go wait for you in the room then," Cordelia released Ronan's hand and rose from the couch.

"Hey, Ronan, what's your wife waiting for you in the room for? Didn't she just have a baby not too long

ago? Isn't that exciting?" The remark echoed behind Cordelia.

"Quite exciting indeed. You should give it a try," Ronan retorted.

Cordelia thought to herself, “When high school boys get together, they always tell dirty jokes, and the

girls are here to relive their youth.”

Back in the room, Cordelia sank into the soft bed and was enveloped by the warm comforter. It felt so

good. She didn't know how long she had slept but was awakened by a shortness of breath and a

sudden kiss.

"Did you sleep well?" He asked Cordelia.

"What time is it?"

"A little past eight. Want to take a stroll around Birchwood College?" Ronan suggested.

"Sounds good." Barney used to teach at Birchwood College. She had once discussed the differences

between Millstone College and Birchwood College with him, and naturally, she was curious about the

place where Barney had worked.

Birchwood College was not far from the hotel. They arrived at around half-past eight. Ronan pointed

out each building to Cordelia, explaining which ones were the classrooms, lab buildings, dining halls,

and where the sports field was located.

"Birchwood College campus is larger than Millstone's, and the scenery is beautiful," Cordelia recalled

Janice mentioning that her son was planning to attend the university. She thought to herself, he

certainly has good taste.

"It is beautiful," Ronan agreed while they strolled through the campus, a gentle breeze making Cordelia

feel at ease.

"Why didn't you consider Birchwood College when you were applying for colleges?" Cordelia asked

Ronan suddenly.

"Me?" Ronan looked around the campus. "I respect Birchwood College. But I didn't think it was the right

fit for me."

"Oh," Cordelia responded, thinking to herself, “If he didn't think highly of Birchwood, he probably didn't

think highly of Millstone College either.”

"Those are quite the high standards you have," Cordelia commented. "Shall we head back?" Cordelia

hooked her pinky finger around Ronan's.

As they walked towards the campus exit, they passed the student accommodation. Cordelia heard the

sound of laughter and chatter coming from the buildings, reminding her of her own dorm days when

Logan would wait for her downstairs, delivering breakfast in the morning and late-night snacks in the

evening.

"Who are you thinking about now?" Ronan teased.

Cordelia thought to herself, “Is he a mind reader? He always seems to know what I'm thinking.”

"Why do you always compare yourself to someone who's passed away?" Cordelia retorted.

Reflecting on Ronan's kindness towards her, she wished her past could be wiped clean. Unfortunately,

apart from her ordinary background and education, she couldn't even claim to have a clean slate in her

past.

"A dead man is the reason I compare," Ronan huffed.

As they walked by a display window illuminated by a streetlight, Cordelia spotted a few words.

[Outstanding Young Teachers of our University.] Among the listed names was "Petra," which caught

Cordelia's attention. The accompanying picture showed a beautiful woman with long, gentle hair.

"You sure have a lot of romantic commitments," Cordelia thought about the ladies mentioning "Petra"

earlier in the day, wondering if it was the same person.
